They sent an independent company out today. We just moved house and I ordered a complete new bed elsewhere because we can't use the mattress from Benson for beds. Because we got rid of the old base the independent company said they can't test the bed because it's not on a base 😡. Talk about Benson for beds trying to get out of sorting out a refund and funnily enough this mattress has been discontinued what does this tell you. Not really rocket science what a rotten company selling absolute rubbish. This has really wound me up next step trading standards it is . They should be absolutely ashamed of it ripping customers off
I went into Aintree store to buy a bed…
I went into Aintree store to buy a bed & mattress I spoke with the manager about my lower back pain so he used the technology to see which mattress would be best suited, it came up with a medium so I tried a few types out and then the igel mattress, it was really comfortable although I’m used to a firm mattress this was a medium so I bought it with a new bed. I have no complaints about the way I was treated in store, my issue is with the mattress I’ve had it for 5 days now but I’m not happy with the comfort it feels so much different than the one in store so I called customer service which informed me if I’m not happy I will have to pay 10% of the mattress plus’s another delivery charge to have the mattress exchanged. He also told me it can take a week or so for it to settle also to turn the mattress so therefore I’m going to have a few more nights uncomfortable sleep hoping it might get better so I don’t have to pay another £200 to have it exchanged. This mattress dips naturally to your body which I wasn’t aware of it feels like a memory foam with to me who suffers with lower back pain is not good.

If I could I’d give a zero rating. Bought a 2K I Gel mattress less than a year ago which is sagging both sides and have had an independent inspection to tell us not to sit on the side to get in and is our fault as we are not rotating it fortnightly! The alleged independent inspector couldn’t find an issue with the obvious sagging and put it down to wear and tear, and has not upheld the obvious manufacturer issues with this mattress unique to Bensons. No recourse to Bensons as a result of this inspector and we are left with a broken mattress that we can’t use and we are both falling out of the bed as the sagging is so bad. Told to get an independent inspection if we want to challenge the findings and they might consider the result. Told there are no other complaints connected to this type of mattress (IGel) to find multiple forums complaining about the same issues across the internet. I’m so disappointed that I’ve wasted a big portion of our savings on a mattress that is not fit for purpose and a company not willing to accept that this mattress has significant quality and manufacturer issues.

I bought a mattress in June 2020 and it was finally delivered somewhere in September 2020. Now mattress start growing black mold that I cannot get rid off. Called several times to let them know - no good taken care of me. What do they usually do in London in this type of cases? Do they file customer services complaint? Do people sui the company?
Poor show bensons for beds
All the showroom staff and manager Alex I hasten to add are extremely good at Farnbourgh showroom but I’m afraid it sadly ends there. Once the order is taken my experience from there after was extremely bad. They text you to say your delivery will take place on on such a such a date and we will text you 48hrs before this date to tell you if that will happen. This never happened and they missed 2 delivery’s. They contact you after the delivery date to say your delivery won’t take place which is really frustrating and is also laughable as that was obvious. The text is there to help you with taking that time off for delivery as they don’t even give you a time slot. If they had stuck with there process and informed you 48hrs prior then non of this would had been a problem. I took 2 and a half days off in the end and lost my wages for those days as I’m self employed. The communication between customer care and myself is extremely frustrating and poor. The agent comes across like they don’t even care. This is probably because they have probably experienced the same frustration from other people as I’m sure this isn’t a one off. After the stress of dealing with various agents they offer £50 which was a complete joke as this didn’t even come close of my loss of earnings. After 2 weeks of stress talking to various agents and a manager it went to £200. Apparently that’s the most they hand out. I will send a email to the CEO as I’m sure he would like to no what really goes on at bensons for beds. Will never shop with them again which is a shame and a let down to the hard working staff at Farnbourgh.

I have joined trustpilot out of exasperation at Bensons for beds.
My best friend has had their mattress cancelled three times and I thought I was lucky getting a phone call at 7 this morning saying mine was on its way. I have had to take my back door off to get the old one out my little cottage and a day off work.
First they got lost, then called back and said they opened their lorry to find there are no mattresses on the back!!
It’s like some kind of joke.
I mean where am I supposed to sleep now, I cannot get the old one back in . They won’t even take away the old one!
I just am flabbergasted at such a mess up. But like I say my best friend has had it with bensons three times.

We ordered our frame on Sep 2021 and we still just can get a msg to inform us DELAY due to manfacturing order but on MAY 23rd they try to delivery the order but the delivery call us it should have 4 parts but only 3 parts they have. Then reschedule need wait until July 6th, now just got a msg need delay again without the date! We slept on the floor for 10 months! CRAZY!
Avoid this company !
Firstly, staff in shop are polite and helpful and try though unsuccessfully to resolve problems. Our order did not arrive when they said and we were told of the problem with delivery after the event when we had already dismantled the bed. The second delivety date was 5 weeks later but wr were informed on the morning that the base couldnt be delivered. By this time we had had enough so accepted the matress and cancelled order for the base. The staff in the shop ( Peel Centre Gloucester) were aplogetic and understanding though the fault was in the distribution centre not with them. I would strongly urge everyone not to use this company. They are a complete shambles!
Igel mattress BRILLIANT
I purchased the 90 cm mattress Advance 3000 PLUSHTO CR Medium Igel mattress and base from start to finish Bensons for Beds amazing text message and phone call before delivery with time slot given. Two very nice gentlemen arrived carried bed up the stairs. I must say have never slept as brilliant in all my life the bed is fabulous wake up refreshed no aches and pains. Best purchase ever. Well worth the money, it came with the IGEL pillows these are so comfortable, I have spent a fortune on pillows I just wish I had found these sooner.

Tried phoning numb on text, long wait, to be told, item out of stock, will be with you friday. Friday came, up early, no delivery, rang, told slight delay, on van, be with you latest 3pm, nothing. Rang again long wait, told no idea where delivery was, Id receive a text next day regarding delivery, no text. Rang shop, told warehouse shut for 3 days, bank hol, explained, I'm sick, have no bed, surely something you can do, nope warehouse shut, I'd have to wait. No refund available, no alternative offered, no compensation, an appalling way to run a firm AVOID they rip you off and don't give a damn

Do NOT use Bensons or the Staples mattress
We bought a staples bespoke mattress 3 years ago. But when we tried to claim on the 5 year warranty we were told it was not a manufacturers fault (as supported by some lame tests by HomeServe, which we paid £60 for the privilege of the report).
When asking Bensons about the claim I shared photos of an adult sitting on the bed to show how it sinks, and makes your legs hit the wood frame we bought from Bensons.
Apparently sitting according to “The supplier has advised the mattress is not designed to be used in this manner and this is not a manufacturing fault”.
I’m disgusted they aren’t replacing the mattress or offering a discount on a replacement mattress. We explained this mattress is much softer than the soft model we ordered that arrived a month earlier than the faulty one.

We ordered a four drawer divan bed when it was delivered we had to put it together our selves we are disabled. One off the drawers hinges was damaged and we are still waiting for for it to be repaired or replaced. This was not a cheap bed the base was 600.00 pounds.

Wish I had read the reviews for bensons before I purchased a new mattress,Bensons you need to take a look at the service towards your customers not just in store but also your customer services as customer satisfaction means nothing to you my dealings with you have been a terrible experience which I resolved myself by going to another bed company who do put customers satisfaction first.I would say to anyone avoid Bensons at all costs.

We had done everything required as in turn the mattress etc on complaining they sent some one to inspect and we where told it was acceptable sinkage actually 1mm short of not being I complained ant they went on and on about us having a tv in the room , now 2 years from purchase 2 people carnt sleep in it at all and you carnt turnover iam dis abled and having time sleep in spare room iam not sure what to do for the best I see several there have complained with no luck don’t buy from bensons

Last year they delivered wrong bed which I had to assemble to allow my daughter somewhere to sleep because customer who had my delivery decided it was better than the one he had chosen! No compensation for the effort and lost time. Yesterday received £959 mattress - complete cods up by Bensons on delivery times, when mattress arrived delivery guys said as it’s a gel type to leave wrapped to settle for couple of hours, when we unwrapped later taped up corner area revealed bad soiling on mattress so now need s replacement - currently on phone on hold for 24 minutes DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!

Do not buy from this company. I bought a mattress from them for £700, after ONE MONTH it was unusable, a big dip in the centre so it was impossible to sleep on it. I barely even used it. I called them to complain and they sent someone from FIRA to make an 'independent' assessment, it was obvious within minutes that FIRA is a corrupt organisation and I was wasting my time. Their report said "Good news! Your mattress is performing as expected!" Bensons For Beds then rang me and told me I had to PAY THEM more money for the privilege of being able to then PAY MORE and buy a more expensive mattress, and they were very rude about it. I have been ripped off and don't want the same thing to happen to anyone else. Don't believe me? Search facebook for Bensons For Beds and read what everyone else is saying, there are two fb groups about Bensons. Do not buy anything from this company or Harveys which is the same company. Mattress now in a skip, £700 wasted.
