I used to bank with Sabadell and was told if I put €700 into the account monthly there would be no charges only to find they were charging €20 per month so I tried to close the account! 8 phone calls later I was told it would be closed - now 2 years later they tell me it wasn’t closed and there is an outstanding amount for servicing! Do not trust this bank at all! So many people agree!

They do not speak english

Ive had an account at banc sabadell when i lived in spain for a year, while living there i had no issues.

When i moved back to Norway i kept getting mail about a 10 euro debt, i tried to pay it back but none of the customer support speaks english, i asked if they can transfer me to someone who speaks english and they said ''no bye bye''

So over 1 year or so this debt grew and grew until it became 150 euro, i finally managed to get in contact with a guy who spoke english and i paid of this debt. Now i get a mail from them saying that the debt issue is not resolved, i call them and no one speaks english, its a mess. How am i supposed to speak with my bank if they dont speak english or have anyone who speaks english.

I recommend you to stay away from them if you speak english.

Stay away!

Stay away!
Their website is not good. They asked me to download income- and tax statements, but that was not possible. After message "Document too large", the download function collapsed. I sent the information to Sabadell, using email, 3 times. I also called them, but still they closed down my account permanently. Then they charged me 100 euro of expenses on the closed down account. I had no other possibility than to find another bank.

Absolutely awful experience

Absolutely awful experience

I made a banco Sabadell account as I was purchasing property in Spain, and needed a bank account. Out of all of the differt parts of purchasing a home, I would think the actual bank transfers would be the easiest part, but Banco Sabadell went out of their way to make it as difficult as possible in every step. Before making the account, I called and asked many questions such as, will I have to provide documentation about the transfer of the funds (answer was "no"), or are there any hidden fees I should know of (also "no"). After making the account I transfer money to it, and get a fee of 2.5K for RECIEVING funds. Nobody could tell me why this makes sense, but I was not able to get this money back. They said this was their 'non SEPA transfer fee', and they cant revert it, even tho it was a SEPA transfer!! They just ignore me when I try to solve it, everyone shifts blame on someone else, and no one can actually give me an answer or help me. 2.5K gone. Next, the week before the property purchase, they send me an email that I need to sent them like 20 different documents proving proof of origin of the funds. Despite me having called and asked if I will need them beforehand and being told no. They told me if I didnt provide them in a week, they would block my account. I had to spend so much time and even travel back to my country to get documentation, and they were still not satisfied and blocked my account, and asked me to submit all of the same documents again, which I did, and then eventually they unblocked it after like 2 weeks. Tons of stress and effort for litterly no reason.

Next I went to try to get checks for the property purchase (I needed 3), and they told me I would have to pay 300 euro per check issued, meaning another fee of 900 euro for such a basic service. They told me however if I get their home insurance they will cut it to 30 euro per check, so I did so, despite it being 3x more expensive than comprable insurance options (other companies quoted me 150-200 but Sabadell 550 euro).

Now, their home insurance is ABSOLUTELY USELESS. Any time I want anything done, I have to call them, stay on hold for at least 30 min to one hour, to get paired with rude agents who hang up if they dont feel like talking to you, and do their absolute best to NOT help you. I have a leak in my ceiling and Sabadell refuses to help saying I need to contact my buildings insurance. I tell them I need a written statement from them saying that, and for weeks I have to chase them for this statement so my buildings insurance can fix it, and they still refuse to give it to me.

STAY AWAY, GET REVOLUT OR BUNQ OR LITTERLY ANY OTHER BANK!!

Banco Sabadell insurance

Banco Sabadell insurance
We have been treated very poorly. We have a holiday home in Alicante. We have a water leak. The water company has made us aware of this. A man has been out gassing to find the leak. The report he made to the insurance company has disappeared. The insurance company keeps saying they can't find where the leak is and will simply close the case.
Very unhelpful and will not return calls. We have to call them once a week ourselves. The damage was discovered in July.
So find another insurance company.

Don´t use Sabadell Renting

I have a long term rental car with Sabadell Renting in Spain. The monthly cost includes all servicing, repair costs, tyres etc. Whilst travelling through France we had a tyre problem which resulted in us being towed off the motorway to a garage for repairs. As we were in France we were told that we needed to pay and claim back upon our return to Spain. They were very clear what evidence and documentation we needed to be able to claim which we followed to the letter. 22 months later we are still waiting for our money. After 6 months they admitted they had lost our claim. They have since not paid because they cannot read the copies ( a blind man could read them!)They have now asked for something completely new, a tax certificate from the garage! I have recently copied in their group CEO hoping he will get involved and tell them to sort it out, but nothing different. I have today just sent everything off again to them

Sabadell is awful

Sabadell is awful. Their website is unusable: they offer very limited search options: you can search by the amount or by a date range. I enter the amount and the transaction does not come up, I enter the date range and it shows. I try again, copy the exact amount and paste it into the search window, it still does not show. There is not a chance to see how many times a year this money gets debited unless you basically scroll throught the whole year. It is very difficult to use their online services and even more difficult to get anything out of a person. If you can avoid, please do.

Extremely poor customer treatment.

I have been treated very rudely several times in Sabadell Bank, Altea, though I have an account there, and am a Spanish resident. Today I had several queries. As I am 76 and had made an appointment, I asked for a chair to sit down. The cashier refused to fetch me one, so I fetched one myself. I enquired why I had been charged €I80 for 'intereses y comisiones' when I had no overdrawn and hadn't used my account much. I was not given a satisfactory reason, just a print out of my transactions, told 'that was their policy'. I was strongly encouraged to take out their medical insurance, then apparently would not be charged interest and commissions. I do not want or need their medical insurance. I was then asked to leave to make way for another client, although I had a further enquiry, and had made an appointment. The treatment I receive in Sabadell is consistently rude and unhelpful, and I am considering switching to Caixaltea. I speak fluent Spanish so all interactions are in Spanish. I hope to lodge an official complaint against the bank.

When someone who gives just 1 star it means not recommended

When someone who gives just 1 star to a business, it means stay away, this is a situation that nobody can fall to have headaches later, I appreciate when people giving their own opinions, warning others to avoid certainly business not recomendable to open an any acct. Nowadays everybody is living a hardship economical situation, and we need to find a honest company that respect us as consumers, not to take an advantage. Thank to those leaving a honest comment.

Up until now I have been happy with Sabadell, however 6 days ago I sold my house, at the notary I was handed a cashiers cheque issued by my Sabadell branch and was told this was as good as cash.
I went directly to my branch to pay in the cheque which they told me had only been issued by them 2 hours ago, it was midday when I paid in the cheque, 6 days later there is no sign of the money in my account.

Do not use Sabadell!

Can put it in one word: Vhoose some other bank than Sabadell! Had them for several years! When I wanted to close the accoun, you must go in person to their office to do this! I live now "on the other side of the planet! So I thoght, make sure it it zero on the account, and e-mail tham to close it. No way, their charges still running, and they was chasing me like a criminal, so I had at the end, let a Solictor close it for me, and ofc it cost even more money! Never again Sabadell Bank...NEVER!

STAY AWAY!!!!

STAY AWAY!!!!
The worse insurances possible..
Customer service couldn't be worse, agents often giving false information, just to finish the call, some of them are really rude.
They should reply within 48h, I called after 4 days and they said you just have to wait, but when you are late few days you have to pay fine.
I'm the client of this bank for around 8 years.
But that's enough..
I don't want to part of this swamp anymore

Thank you Sabadell

My self and family were introduced to Sabadell Bank in Oliva when we moved to Spain pre Brexit.
We knew nothing at all about the banking process here.

We were guided with patience and concern that we understood the process of having a Spanish bank account.

When ever we needed to ask any questions about financial matters they were there to guide us and explain options available to us.

They handled along with our Lawyer the process of us purchasing a house.

All the staff are polite, respectful and patient.
I have seen Ramon so many times when we have needed guidance
Ramon has been patient and gone the extra mile to make sure that we understand the Spanish process of doing things in the correct manner.

I have sat so many times and seen customers treated with respect and always with dignity.
They are spoken to quietly so everyone can’t hear what is being said.
Smiles come along with the package.
Thank you to you all in Oliva for everything you have done for us and continue to do.
You are all a credit to Sabadell

Kindest regards
Christina

Totally agree with all the bad reviews…

Totally agree with all the bad reviews given here. I really do not beleive that that bank care at all about their customers. I am going to open a bank account with another bank.

WARNING do not take out any insurance with this bank. I put a claim in over 2 months ago, and sent several emails as requested with proof of the claim, invoice and no replies. I have also called sveral times, and a direct bank visit, still the claim is outstanding and yet when I use the links provided to progress the claim, it states the claim is closed!!!!
