A dent found at delivery was not…
A dent that e found at delivery was not recorded by Auto Rent. At return we had a real issue to convince the person helping us that we did not cause this dent. It was a very unpleasant experience. Or suggestion is to record/photograph everything even if Autorent had done it itself.

We could not link our mobile phone to…
We could not link our mobile phone to the navigation screen in the car …. So we used Google Maps on our phone …but there was no mobile phone holder provided and my charger lead needs a USB-A socket … but the car had (the very latest) USB-C sockets and we had no adapter with us. These are little things to remember (or be reminded) next time.

Excellent car hire service from Auto Rent
Cannot fault Auto Rent in any way. After reading several bad reviews from other Faro car rental companies, Auto Rent stood out as being the most honest, affordable and reliable. We used Auto Rent in July 2024 to hire a Seat estate and the whole experience from start to finish was excellent. The transfer from airport to their premises took less than 5 minutes. Their staff are very friendly and courteous. They thoroughly and transparently review the car with you before hiring to confirm all existing scuffs/Scratches/marks etc are noted and even suggest you video the review - this gives you added peace of mind when returning it.

Additional 40€ fees added after 20…
Additional 40€ fees added after 20 local. Mini van left and we waited 20'.
Booked with economy car, but lots of info were unclear at booking process. Discovered only when I had problems with getting the car.
For the deposit AMEX (1200€) is not accepted and due to that further delays and unpleasant feeling.
I won't look for this car rental/economy car in the future.
The worker at the desk did just his job on explaining, "check the site is written there".
I move for work, i have no time to play lawyer's game.

A pleasure to rent from.
Took a car from Auto Rent for 10 days, June 20th to 30th.
Staff were extremely professional, helpful, efficient and polite. Everything was made clear and simple. Thorough inspection of car on collection and drop off, which was all done in quick time. Shuttle bus driver (Mr Venezuela) was a lovely man.
Our car was quiet new, low milage, spotless, very comfortable and just perfect. A great experience.

Accurate, friendly and crystalclear information
Accurate and jointly carried out inspection of the car for damage. Clear explanation of options. Very helpfull and friendly staff. A pdf document with all info including photo's taken from damages (even the very small ones) before driving away with the rental car.

Ripped Off business
I had to pay a fee for collecting the car hour after the booking. The car was booked and paid for 9 days the only thing you’re supposed to do is holding it for nine freaking days, if necessary. Then I wanted to return hours earlier and was told that I would have to wait until the eighth hour in the morning or pay a fee for someone to turn up at 7:00 am, but guess what? Our normal business hours are from 08:00 to 20:00, out of this an Out of Hours fee applies. That's why you've been charged the first time when you pick-up the car.
regarding the car return, it was scheduled for 10:00, but if you needed to return it earlier then 08:00, again Out Of Hours fee applies.
The Out of Hours applies to all pick-ups and returns between 20:00 and 08:00, and it's well explained in our website T&C and it should also be available on your reservation T&C through CarJet/DoYouSpain. If there was no information about Out of Hours fee on your voucher, you should complain to CarJet/DoYouSpain where you've made the reservation.

Simple check in process (completed online before travelling). All documents complete with photos of all noted damage sent to my email before I left the office. The deposit held on my credit card was returned immediately upon returning the car. Very happy with Autorent (Faro) and thoroughly recommended.

The best in the Algarve
This rental agency (near Faro Airport) is the very best I have ever dealt with in Portugal. Last year I had the very worst experience with another major agency, and swore I would never use them again. A friend recommended Auto Rent, and so we tried them out. We’re actually new residents in PT, and I have simply been renewing my two week leases for the last 6 weeks (until we purchase a car). It’s almost cheaper to keep renting the car than purchase one, and it’s a basic, but fantastic car. You get great pricing, excellent customer care, and very good vehicles…what’s not to like about that?

Auto Rent is the best Car Hire Company…
Auto Rent is the best Car Hire Company in Faro. Cars are all good clean new cars, there are plenty of staff in the office, so you never have to wait for long. There is no hard sell for upgrades or insurance. The agent comes out with you to inspect the car, unlike many other companies just send you out to find it, then if there is more damage than is recorded you have to go back and wait to have the report changed. On return of the vehicle the inspection is quick and your deposit is released right then while you are present. I have been renting cars at Faro for 9 years and tried many companies but without any doubt Auto Rent are the best, so I always return.

DO NOT USE - received a fine 2 years later for tolls although paid for automatic toll payment
I rented a vehicle from this company and it was okay, although they did try to say I dented the car turned out it was there before.
Then 2 years later I have now received a fine going through tolls although I paid the extra for the electronic toll automatic pay. Its ridiculous the company will no longer respond to my emails. DO NOT USE

Very pleased with Autorent. Friendly staff, good pricing lovely clean car supplied. Drop off at 5.00am & shuttle to terminal (2 mins away) was seamless. This was my 2nd time using Autorent & will definitely use them next time.
