I am extremely disappointed with the way my refund has been handled by Aunt Betty / Flight Centre.
My booking reference is ABY32321310 (ticket reference 261899713). The booking was cancelled on 14 April 2026, and despite this matter now being outstanding for several months, I have still not received a clear update on the status of my refund.
I submitted a formal complaint on 17 June 2026 and have followed up multiple times, but I have not received a complaint reference number, confirmation that the refund has been submitted to Qatar Airways, any airline reference details, or a realistic timeframe for resolution.
The most frustrating part has been the complete lack of meaningful communication. I understand refunds can sometimes take time, but customers should not have to repeatedly chase for basic information about their own money.
I hope this review prompts someone to finally investigate and provide me with my refund.
I booked a Business Class airfare and my card was accordingly charged! I was waiting 48 hours...but still didn't get a ticket or itinerary nor a confirmation! Called the helpdesk ..and they said...oh sorry the airline did not confirm the booking...we will refund you the money! You will get an email confirmation! No alternative nor an excuse was offered! Another 3 days later ...still no refund...nor any email. Called helpdesk again...waiting another 15 mins on the phone to find my records! Ohh yes we found your file....we will refund! Is it legal to confirm a service, collect the full amount and then just refusing to provide the service??? It's the last time to use this travel agent! The helpdesk is overseas!!!...yes
they are polite ...but completely incompetent!
And now I got a reply on my review...they ask for my ABY number!!! How can I provide a reservation number if I've never received a confirmation???

Horrific service. They will change your flights then give you no help when it affects you and make you call the airline directly. The airline then has no authority to correct the mistake and you end up out of pocket and paying for shorter trips that end up being stupidly long.

I haven't yet travelled on these tickets but I am already wishing I had not booked through aunt Betty. There was no indication when booking that I was getting anything other than normal tickets through the airlines shown, but after booking the usual options available are not there and everything has to be conducted through the aunt Betty live chat function which is extremely glitchy and has incredibly long wait times of over an hour before you can begin to speak to someone. It appears as though the usual baggage rules for the airlines do not apply to these tickets - I am planning to bring sporting equipment which would be allowed with these airlines but seems like it might not be with these tickets. Just pay a little extra and book through the airline!

The site wasn't accepting my credit card and wanted to increase the prices. so I had to end up re-doing everything multiple times and it kept increasing the prices each time. felt more like a scam than a travel booking site.

I think Aunt Betty may be a good company if you just want to book a flight.
However I paid extra to reserve seats on my flights between New Zealand and England.
At check-in I was informed that no seats had been reserved for me. This is so totally not good enough. On a long flight where you sit can make all the difference. I ended up in a seat right by the toilet it was not an experience I would ever have chosen for myself. I cannot believe that the service I paid for was not extended to me. If you offer something you deliver it, if you're not able to deliver it you don't offer it and you definitely don't charge for it!

Firstly I’ve sent 4 emails , they have never responded , I’ve rung them and they hang up rather than try and fix the issue rather deal with the issue.
I paid $536 for my wife and my supposedly better seating . The seats we have are up the front of the plane but are just normal economy seats . They seem to be waiting us out and not deal with us.
I could never recommend this supposed subsidiary of Flight centre the only reason I used them in the first place .

Your booking system not a friendly system to use specially when you go to the payment option last stip & a prompt message saying an error happened when we tried to finalised your itinerary please try again later?
Pls try again later??? Happened couple of time & when I call ur customer number after 40 minutes waiting , I been asked to try again tomorrow? Happened with me personally , with my friend & finally when I helped my friend to Issue his ticket?
Also when I applied the promotion code send to me the system accepted and when I tried to submitted my payment I wasn’t able till I removed the code, then the payment went through? Not a good system at all.
We had raised this issue before with your staff & not sorted out till now? Hope u can sorted out & hope you can send me the value for my promotion code I wasn’t able to used. It?
As per Aunt betty respond received ,unless I submit my payment I will never receive ABY reference to provided to your customer office to get a help about my booking???
