These guys have the most amazing equipment. I bought a CD player which is so much better than any new CD player I bought back in the day. The sound is just great. Shop staff very knowledgeable and helpful. And it’s a treasure trove. Old and new vinyl too.

Alfonzo repaired and serviced my old Dual 505 turntable. He did a great job and took time showing me the process. He replaced my needle and it all works perfectly. I cannot recommend enough this place.

As a new customer entering this shop for the first time I was surprised by what felt like an unfriendly and maybe snobbish encounter. I know enough about vintage hi fi and equipment to hold a sensible conversation and not to be spoken down to. I only sought a couple of small things, an fm ribbon aerial, and a bluetooth audio receiver, if perhaps sold here. I was initially told no aerials were sold, and only when I questioned if they sold all their vintage receivers without aerials did the assistant ask the owner, who slightly corrected the statement by saying they might have, but I have to wait. So whilst waiting I asked the assistant about the bluetooth receiver, which he responded by saying they 'wouldn't' sell those. Intrigued, I naturally asked why, to be told "it's because we like(emphasis) the way our music sounds", which sounds like an insulting insinuation (So do I - I've worked in dolby 5.1 mixing studios, I own and run a valve based vinyl set up, etc, etc). However, a 'cheapo' sounding bluetooth receiver (for connecting mobile/tablet) is fine for my 18 year old nephew where I am tempting him into vintage systems and vinyl and blowing wads of cash on amps and decks. And then I had to wait. And I waited. And I left. I (emphasis) want a vintage hi fi retailer to be like the sound of vintage systems; warm and inviting!

Went in for a new stylus which was fitted , balanced and checked. Very impressive friendly fast service.

I bought a Garrard 4HF turntable, that was basically fit for the skip. I done some research on who could restore the unit and found Audio Gold. They had examples of their restoration work, on their website, and decided to give them the job.
Boy was I glad I chose them. When I went to collect the turntable, I was blown away by the quality of the work.
The turntable was fully restored, with a beautiful hand made wooden plinth. The unit has absolutely no hum, when in use, something I thought would be a problem due to its age.
I would recommend Audio Gold to all that is seeking quality work, for those cherished vintage audio equipment.

AudioGold recently serviced a slightly elderly (but beautiful) Walkman Professional cassette-corder. Their repairer (not based in the shop) carried out a very thorough service and replaced the missing dust screen cover (star deducted for leaving glue all over it). It is restored to its former glory, plays brilliantly, and all for a fair price. Thank you.

Amazingly helpful staff helped me find second hand stereo equipment within my budget, that was just right for me. There's a great selection of stuff here and the staff know the stock very well. Reasonable prices and they don't rush you to make a sale. Just ask to book an appointment if you want to try out different equipment.
