0NLY 1 STAR BECAUSE I CAN NOT PUT NONE. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHAME SCAMMING COMPANY. I PHONE THEM UP AND EXPLAINED I HAD STARTED CHANGING MY KITCHEN SINK BUT DUE TO BECOMING UNABLE TO FINISH I NEEDED THEM TO SEND SOMEONE OUT TO FINISH THE JOB WHICH LATER THAT DAY AFTER THIS COMPANY SCAMMING I MANAGED TOFINISH IT OFF MYSELF. I SUFFER WITH SEVERE COPD AND BECAME BREATHLESS AND PANICED THAT I COULDNT LEAVE THINGS THE WAY THERE WERE AND CONTACTED THIS COMPANY LIKE SOMEONE ELSE SAID IN THERE REVIEW BECAUSE THEY CAME UP FIRST AND WAS HAPPY TO PAY THE £69 CALL OUT FEE. THERE OPERATIVE TURNED UP AND I EXPLAINED WHAT THE SITUATION WAS INCLUDING MY HEALTH HE THEN PHONE SOMEONE AND SAID I WOULD GET AN EMAIL FROM THERE OFFICE AND ONCE I REPLIED EXCEPTING THERE PRICING HE WOULD START I SAID WELL START AS IT WILL HAVE TO BE DONEWHICH HAPPILY HE DIDN'T HE GOT BACK ON THE PHONE TO AS HE SAID HIS OFFICE. A COUPLE OF MINUTES LATER I RECIEVED THERE EMAIL AND AFTER SOMETHING HE SAID IN THE LAST CALL I JUST FELT I WAS ABOUT TO TRY TO BE SCAMMED AND I WAS RIGHT THEY STATED THAT THERE CHARGE WAS £289 PER HOUR/PART HOUR, I KINDLY TOLD HIM TO LEAVE TO WHICH HE GOT AGGRESSIVE TO PAY THE CALL OUT FEE WHICH I DID WARNING THAT THIS WASNT THE LAST AND I WOULD BE CONTACTING THE POLICE AND TRADING STANDARD WHICH I HAVE AND WORKING WITH THEM NOW TO TAKE THIS FURTHER, MY ADVICE STAY AWAY AND PROTECT YOUR MONEY.

Quoted £89 for emergency call over to…

Quoted £89 for emergency call out over the phone, which then came to almost £130 for absolutely nothing.
When the plumber arrived more than an hour later, he quoted me £349 plus VAT plus parking and plus materials costs for up to four hours work on a small radiator pipe issue, so basically asked him to leave.
Had to pay the call out charge there and then - which is fair enough - but was quoted £89 over the phone, which suddenly had an additional admin charge and VAT on it, coming to almost £130 - £40 more than quoted! There was no reasoning with them - I had this guy in my flat and the only way he’d leave was me paying the whole amount!

Managed to get the work done by a different company for a small fraction of the price!

1 because I can't give 0

1 because I can't give 0. TERRIBLE. They are criminal and very dishonest. Extrotionate pricing, specifically waste time as to get to the extra hour. Charge 20% VAT and 20% "admin fee". unclear pricing before they arrive. and then add random costs for materials. they charged a price which doesn't match the value of the materials. to change me £165 for a plastic push-fit isolation valve (value at the store £18!!!!). Also, charge me for 2 hrs, as he calculated the time (50min to finish the job plus 14 min to pack his stuff so total time 64min which is 2 hrs as they say they charge at the strt of the extra hr).
Just outright dishonest.

Extortionate price

Extortionate price, extremely unclear terms. Full price only known after arrival. Hidden 20% admin fee added in addition to 20 % VAT charge. Will never use again.

Extremely disappointing and distressing experience

Of course. Here is the complete version, with the facts corrected so it is clear that you told the company it was a boiler leak, the tenant was then told about the gas registration, the tenant received the £700 quote, and the tenant was the person who was threatened over payment.

⭐ 1 Star — Extremely disappointing and distressing experience

I contacted ASAP 24/7 Plumbers Limited because there was an urgent boiler leak at a rented property. I clearly explained when making the booking that the problem was a boiler leak and that this was an emergency requiring urgent attention.

When the first engineer attended, the tenant was told that the boiler needed to be gas registered/certified. I was then told that there would be an additional call-out charge. I asked who they intended to charge — whether this would be charged to me/the office or to the tenant — but they did not want to take any further information from me or properly clarify the charges.

A second engineer then arrived very late and told the tenant that the boiler was apparently not repairable. The tenant was then given a quote of approximately £700.

What concerns me most is what happened afterwards.

The tenant was threatened and intimidated over payment. The tenant was told that their possessions would be taken to obtain payment and became extremely frightened. Because of the way payment was being demanded, the tenant felt pressured and frightened into making the payment.

I find this completely unacceptable.

Whatever the disagreement over the bill, a tenant should not be threatened or intimidated into making a payment. If a company believes that money is owed, there are proper ways of dealing with a disputed invoice. Threatening or frightening someone at their home is not an acceptable way to recover payment.

I am retaining all relevant evidence, including the invoice, payment information, communications and details of what happened. I intend to raise this matter with the appropriate authorities, including the police where appropriate, and will also consider reporting the matter to the relevant consumer and trading authorities.

My advice to anyone considering using this company for an emergency is to establish the full call-out charge, any additional charges, the hourly rate and all payment terms in writing before allowing work to proceed. Keep records of every conversation and make sure you receive a written quotation before agreeing to significant work.

This was an extremely stressful and distressing experience for the tenant and for me as the person who arranged the emergency call-out.

I would not use this company again and cannot recommend them

I needed someone desperately to stop a leak and I asked several times on the phone what their hourly rate was, it wasn't a great line and sounded like £80 per hour, guy turned up and wanted me to sign an agreement stating £389.00 per hour plus admin charge. I wish I had read the reviews before I agreed to a visit.

Price

Price. Ended up paying 3 times what I thought I’d pay from their quote. Hidden admin fee. Charged for second hour when job took less than one hour - counted since time of arrival rather than time of starting the job. Cost of materials high. Called them when I got the invoice, rude on the phone.

COMPLETE SCAM

COMPLETE SCAM - DO NOT INVITE THE TROUBLE

Called for a leak around PRV fitting underneath the sink.

They removed the main water supply lever pipe unnecessarily and replaced with plastic quickfit & fixed leak around PRV pipe. No more lever.inside my home to stop the main water supply for emergency.

More over they handed over shocking invoice for £1000 for 1hr 20mins job..

Luckily I haven’t paid the invoice and I have disputed the invoice malpractice and incompetent work.

1 star is too high - it should be negative as they created much more work than original situation.

Absolute scam

Absolute scam. Complete and utter scammers. NEVER USE. Should be taken to court.

Absolutely abused their power when our business was in an emergency, spent 5 hours "fixing a problem".

The exact same issue happened the day after, and with the time I had available. I fixed it within 30 minutes of my time and a youtube video.

After consulting with other plumbers, they all confirmed it was a complete and utter scam.

Promised to rectify blockage

Promised to rectify blockage , only £59 call out which i thought was acceptable but i asked to be informed of when he was arriving as i need to be on site. i had a call but he was already on site for 20 minutes and then informed me that the cost was £339/ hour of which i agreed but to my surprise, he only had a plunger which was not fit for purpose. after 1 hour he informed me i had to pay . but then a 20% mark up for admin fee was added .so had to pay £600 for nothing. in actual fact he left the toilet off and the floor dirty. Terrible service. Stay well clear

DO NOT RECOMMEND

DO NOT RECOMMEND - Check reviews before booking emergency call-outs.
Booked an emergency repair on a leaking toilet for a vulnerable family member to stop water ingress into the property below. The engineer who attended was polite and completed the physical repair, but the dispatch company's billing structure and contractual terms are extortionate.
Inflated Labour Billing: Charged for multiple full hours of emergency labour despite the actual physical fix taking under an hour, due to aggressive rounding terms and timing rules.
Unsubstantiated Material Costs: Billed a heavily marked-up materials fee for basic sealant, with zero itemisation or proof of trade cost.
Extravagant Admin Surcharge: A mandatory 20% "Administration Fee" was tacked on top of the entire bill alongside full VAT.
No Aftercare or Dispute Resolution: The total invoice ran into well over £1,000 for a minor fix. A formal written dispute requesting basic job logs, material breakdowns, and a proper VAT invoice was completely ignored past statutory deadlines.
This business operates as a dispatch agency exploiting high-stress emergencies with predatory fee structures.

I strongly suggest looking elsewhere

Predatory pricing

Scam. Do NOT call this company! Their pricing structure is predatory at best. Tried to charge over £800 for a 40-minute job including for £200+VAT for jetting despite no jetting taking place. Even so, the bill came to over £600. They are middlemen. Plumber that attended (who is a local business) was actually quite apologetic about the whole thing. Just use a local plumber!

ASAP 24/7 TRIED CHARGING ME £501.10 FOR A SIMPLE ONE-MINUTE JOB!

This was a simple one-minute job they wanted £501.10 for! Avoid this outfit!!! They work out of 18 Burlington Gardens, London, W3 6BA according to their paperwork. Checking my map app, that's a private house or flat within a house in Acton, West London, UK.
When I rang the advertised number, the person who responded said the person she was sending would explain the hourly rate. His "explanation" was to try to get me to sign a watertight (pun intended!) five-page service agreement which would have legally obliged me to cough up that amount!
I was happy to pay the £69 plus VAT call-out, but when I saw the hourly on-site rate was £279 plus VAT plus another 20 per cent "admin" fee - cunningly worded as a 0.2 (decimal) charge on top of the entire total, I refused.
The agent claimed she had said over the phone it would be "£250" - her words. I said as she had not even got that right it proved she had not said it at all when I asked. She lost her temper and huffily told me to make whatever hourly rate with the man on the spot then cut me off, so that is what I did as a private arrangement between him and me.
So in all I paid something in total which I thought was reasonable for an emergency which I could not initially have sorted myself even though it turned out to be a simple job of applying a proper plunger to pop the trapped plug out and allow the sink water to drain away.
The person they sent had the totally irrelevant JIB qualification of water jetting which he showed me as identification when he arrived on the doorstep looking anything but professional in shorts and vest!
This is a break-down of what Asap 24/7 hoped to charge me including VAT if I had been foolish enough to sign the agreement their on-site operative waved in front of my nose:
£ 82.80 call-out
£334.80 hourly rate or part thereof
£417.50 sub-total
PLUS
£83.50 “admin charge” on the above total
GRAND TOTAL: £501.10
At first reading of the service agreement, that “0.2 (Decimal)” charge to be added to the above sub-total looks like 0.2 PER CENT.
But the word “Decimal" gives it away - it is, in fact, *another* 20% on top of everything equalling the £83.50 admin charge you see above.
So add all those figures together and you have the £501.10 they tried through their operative to fleece me for.
The operative said he gets 20 percent, so that'd be £69.60 or, if VAT is added, £83.52.
That'd leave the company with between £431.50 and £417.58 pure profit. Outrageous!!!
They rely on more urgent and stressful emergencies to reel you in and also say in their service agreement that the operative will not come in to do the work until you sign the agreement - and crucially won't leave the premises until you've paid, which is by instant bank electronic transfer which it is difficult, but not impossible if you're quick, to retrieve once you've hit the "send" button.
A more reputable company, apart from being upfront and not misleading about all the charges, would offer credit card payment as you have better consumer rights if you pay by that method, and I suspect Asap 24/7 knows this very well!
This company boasts "no hidden charges" and has some reviews which are just on their website so not verified.
The ones I see here are, and like mine tell a grim and similar story because the company is playing on the fact that people who call them out have such awful, stressul emergencies that they have no option but to accept the charge.
The lesson is, if caught on the doorstep like me, to be firm with the operative and to counter any nastiness by calling the police which might make them think twice about insisting. I was lucky as the deal I struck was what I would have expected to pay for such a call-out and work done.
But the other golden rule is run the company name through either this website or another such as Google review. But maybe the real answer is, don't wait for the emergency but build up a list of trusted suppliers - either by online genuine reviews or by word of mouth.
So I hope by adding this to the other one-star negative reviews, readers will be alerted to apply the simple rule “CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!”.
Or in plain English BUYER BEWARE!!! - then give this outfit a big, fat swerve!!

I have clicked one start because there…

I have clicked one start because there is not option for none. I would give minus 100
A complete scam, exorbitant and high prices . They demanded to sign and accept their wrong terms and quotation before even the plumber checked what the problem was. I ended up paying for the "call out" service, just for the plumber to stand up and talk to his office to check on how much they would charge, without even touching and looking at anything at all. They should be fine for scamming and taking advantage of people like this!! They do not explain by phone how the price for the services until they are on site.

How they can say 1 hour is from 1 to 59 minutes and if the plumber spent 1 hour and 1 minute they charge for 2 hours!

Total rip off.

Total rip off.
Was told on the phone 20-40 mins ended up being 90 mins and 3 calls of me chasing.
When he arrived I was send an estimate for the work, while there water pouring out a pipe all over your carpets they know you aren’t going to read the fine print I saw that it said £350 per hour which I thought was exorbitant but I felt like I had no choice as I was desperate and it was late on a Saturday night so I agreed he did stop the leak which took him about 45 minutes then I was sent the invoice which had added VAT plus a 20% admin fee plus £100 parts in total it came to about £750. This is a disgrace I’ve since been told by other plumbers that the parts would’ve costed no more than £5.
This company is completely unethical take advantage of people in desperate situations.
