AptDeco's shippers broke off the legs…

AptDeco's shippers broke off the legs of the table I had sold after they put it in the truck. They are not responding to requests for information re: their responsibility for the damage, nor do I have the option of removing my info from their website.

I will never use them again and would recommend you stay away as well.

Absolute scam of a website

Absolute scam of a website. Item was delivered and the dimensions didn't match the seller's listing. AptDeco refused to give me a refund because 48 hours had passed since the item was delivered. DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE ANY UNDER CIRCUMSTANCE!

Terrible Customer Experience

Paid $250 for a used dresser, discovered one of the drawers was completely broken (NOT disclosed in product listing) and they offered me a $30 discount, $60 when I pushed back. The website promises that the delivery team inspects the item to assure it matches the listing, but this is clearly not true and they do not help you get a fair refund from the buyer. Don't bother with this site.

I purchased an expensive coffee table…

I purchased an expensive coffee table which I assumed was in like new condition. I had no notice of delivery until a day or so before when I was on vacation. The driver informed me he was in the area and coming back was a problem. I could have told them to come back, but I was accommodating and made arrangements for someone to let the delivery person in while I was away. When I got home a week later, I noticed two long symmetrical structural cracks down both sides of the top of the table. This table was cracking - a $2000 marble table. I wrote immediately to aptdeco and they informed me it was too late to file a claim, they are not interested in hearing more and never replied to me again. I got screwed out of $2k and there is absolutely no recourse. The seller Williams and Sonoma on aptdeco did not even bother to reply to my messages. Once they dump an item and get the cash, they forget you exist and if they do reply it is to tactfully tell you to fk off.

Buyer beware

Buyer beware! AptDeco does not quality control their products. I placed an order for an ($800) purchase. The headboard had been stained or painted to seemingly cover up existing blemishes ultimately to make the product look newer and higher quality in the photos used for the sale of the item. Upon receiving the piece I did not notice the stain/paint as it perfectly matches the wood and didn't look "wet". I had purchased a new mattress and bedding for a second bedroom the headboard was intended for, and upon my first guest's stay they pointed out stains on the bedding, directly aligning with the curvature of the headboard. The paint/stain had rubbed off as the wood was clearly not treated correctly. When I reached out AptDeco to make them aware of the permanent damage that was done to the bedding and alerting them of how this piece was treated, their solution was to re-list it so another customer would then receive it and essentially have the same experience I did. AptDeco clearly doesn't express concern for their customers, not only did I receive an defective product but it caused additional damage to my belongings and have still not offered a solution. Out of consideration for others, I'd never feel comfortable re-selling a product in this condition. Overall a terrible experience and I'd hope to only help others by posting this review.

Absolutely do not recommend this…

Absolutely do not recommend this website. Horrible customer service. They purposely don’t have a phone number for this reason. Delivery delayed multiple times with little to no communication or warning and cuts into your personal time.

Glad I gave it a try.

I was nervous about using this company based on the feedback. But i couldn't find what I was looking for anywhere else so I took the risk. The delivery was flawless - quick and completed by a delightful delivery man. the Four stars instead of 5 is because of the very high delivery charge. Much higher than if I could have set up my own arrangement. But, it was easy and it worked well.

I agree with all the negative comments…

I agree with all the negative comments here; plus, as a seller, even if I didn't lower my price, they kept lowering what I was going to earn from it. I had a piece up for $525 that initially they said I'd earn $250 from; in two weeks they lowered my earnings to $129. They should be shut down. Plus, there is ZERO customer service. ZERO. As well, when you try to reach a seller to buy something, they either never answer you or their answer is so skimpy, it didn't really answer all your questions. I finally pulled my stuff off there.

AptDeco weaknesses

AptDeco is an online platform for buying and selling furniture, and like any other service, it has its weaknesses:

1. Limited Geographical Availability: AptDeco's services may only be available in certain locations, limiting access for users outside these areas.

2. Fees and Charges: AptDeco may charge fees for transactions or listings, which can add to the overall cost for users.

3. Quality Control: As a platform for secondhand furniture, there may be varying levels of quality in the items listed on AptDeco, potentially leading to dissatisfaction with purchases.

4. Shipping and Logistics: Coordinating pickup or delivery of furniture items can sometimes be challenging and may result in delays or issues with the shipment process.

5. Limited Product Variety: The selection of furniture available on AptDeco may not always be as extensive as other platforms, limiting choices for users.

It's important to consider these weaknesses when using AptDeco to make informed decisions and have a positive experience with the service.

Not Worth The Risk

I was overcharged on my order by almost $500 dollars. I've had positive experiences purchasing furniture in the past, but this time, fees were added after I had already checked out. I reached out to support before the purchase request had gone through, but they refused to take ownership of the mistake in their checkout. It's such a bummer because they have some great furniture available, but only use this website if you have $500-$1000 to gamble.

Stay away buyer beware

I cannot begin to recount the issues I have had with this company, from overcharging my by $2000+ to cancelling a delivery with less than 24 hours notice to being unable to provide a standard Certificate of Insurance for my building. And the seller was a nightmare. Used to be pretty good but my last few transactions have been awful and customer service is ineffective.

Not as described and virtually no customer service

I bought a vintage chair for more than $2K. The delivery was repeatedly delayed by weeks. On the day of the delivery, it arrived 2 hours outside of the window. Because of that, I wasn't able to inspect the item in person right away. When I reported that my item wasn't described (scratches, stains, long-term damage that didn't happen during delivery), I received some automated, impersonal response on how they couldn't do anything to help and didn't claim any responsibility since it was outside the 24 hour window. I am now disputing via my credit card company. This isn't a white glove service and I wouldn't use it for any meaningful purchases.

Ugh, Just The Worst

Ugh, I wish I read all of these reviews before I ordered anything from this company. I bought an entertainment center and a pedestal table, both new and in boxes. I asked twice ahead of time if the delivery guys would unbox and assemble my furniture when delivered because I already had an issue with Wayfair's nonexistent "White Glove Delivery". I have it in writing that yes, my furniture would be assembled (surprise, surprise they don't have a customer service #, so all communication is via email or messaging on their site. Meanwhile, I've waited 2 weeks because I thought it wa s worth it to get furniture actually assembled when you got it rather than have 100 lbs boxes laying around. So they delivery guys arrive and guess what? They don't assemble furniture, sorry. I almost lost my cool, but remembered it's not their fault. So I end up tipping them each $40 because they lugged the stuff up to my apartment (although it was in the elevator, not up the stairs). I got into it with "Jaclyn" via email because I was really upset. They offered to have a "team" come back in a couple of days to assemble the furniture, but seriously, I don't trust their employees have the first clue how to do that. I told Jaclyn to just refund me their ridiculous delivery fee (2 pieces of furniture in boxes for $94 EACH).That should cover the Task Rabbit I booked for tomorrow. Please do NOT do business with this company. They are beyond shameful. So, all this and I haven't even seen the furniture yet to comment on the quality. Don't walk away from their site, RUN!

Worst furniture experience ever

I bought a used West Elm narrow console on AptDeco several weeks ago. The delivery person was not communicative. They eventually said to me in a text that they were "in the area" and that the piece was "25 lbs" and they were leaving it outside.

The piece is not 25 lbs. I tried to get it into my building and couldn't even get it past the door threshold, let alone up the stairs to my second-floor apartment. So the white glove service is a lie. Also, they severely damaged one of the doors. This is the worst furniture buying experience I have ever had. It seems affordable and nice in the beginning, but you're in for an extremely stressful experience, and what gets delivered may not even be a functional piece of furniture. They keep saying "use us, we're eco-friendly and divert waste!" but if they can't get a grip on their delivery aspects (especially with the steep fee!!!!!), who is going to use them over buying new?

BEWARE delivery fees (and terrible customer service)

BEWARE delivery fees. The user experience on their site does not make clear the cost of delivery. And delivery cost is high -- especially high if you're ordering an item from out of state. I was charged $200 for a very simple dining chair that I can (and did) carry up a slight of stairs with one hand.

Customer service is abysmal. Zero willingness to listen to the customer or acknowledge anything is confusing or could be improved on their website. No option to cancel once the delivery fee was disclosed. Moneyback guarantee does not apply to those of us who are faced with delivery fee sticker shock. They said they would communicate with the seller on my behalf to attempt to cancel the transaction, but the item was already in transit by the time they made this promise.

I understand this to be a platform that supposedly removes the sketchiness out of Craigslist transactions, but I'll take my changes with CL next time.

Sellers beware

On the positive: i sold the item i no longer wanted in my house. The buyer bought an item she couldn't find elsewhere. That's the good part.
On the negative: out of my $100 listed price, i got $52. That is nearly 50% going to the app. This is without any delivery because the buyer came to pick up, precisely to avoid fees on her end (she told me it would have been over $40). To be fair, the tiny print related to sales does say you will get UP to 75% of your listed price. Yes 52 is less than 75.
2nd negative: when providing payment instructions, there is a bunch of additional questions beyond banking info that are just outrageously invasive. They ask DOB, social sec and address. I skipped those as there is no way i am giving my social to a furniture selling app! Transaction worked so they definitely don't need those. Please guys, don't fall for this, this is huge id theft risk.
3rd negative: payment doesn't get into processing mode until buyer clicked a button to say they picked up the item. Luckily, my buyer was a nice lady, responding fast to my texts. She clicked that as soon as she got my text request, else my sale was forever hanging in limbo.
My conclusion: this is ripoff if you try to sell your items fairly. If it is just to get rid of something bulky and you don't care about what you get, maybe it's an option.

BUYER BEWARE

BUYER BEWARE. my dresser came damaged with the drawer handle hanging off and missing a screw. Even the apt deco delivery staff noticed immediately and took pictures.
you have 24 HOURS FROM TIME OF DELIVERY to report a discrepancy/damage, otherwise they will not honor any refunds or returns.
I tried emailing with pics after about a day or so (40hrs after delivery) and was told that they would not allow a return or even discount on original purchase price.
BE WARNED I think they know stuff is damaged and they don't want to have to give out refunds so they use this 24 hour rule to trap customers.
