Full marks to the driver!
The driver waited patiently for us to answer the door (we have a note on our doorbell to say ring again if no reply because it takes us a while to reach the door).
Most delivery drivers ignore that request, but not this one!

Delivered outside - no ring or knock
Delivered outside door fine. Would it take a lot to ring the bell at least right in front to let customer know of delivery. It would prevent the common theft of parcels occurring regularly. As it happens my CCTV picked up the delivery. It doesn't make me have trust or faith in the courier. Even if not willing to wait at least ring the bell before walking off. If that's all the delivery driver does and not ring or knock then I wouldn't use this service in future. He had time to take a photo of the parcel left on the floor outside but not enough time to ring the bell or knock.
