Terribly disappointed

Terribly disappointed, booked a hotel that we were really looking forward to staying at for NYE and on the check in morning we were told there was no reserved the hotel. They hotel told us that on Dec 8th Algotels was told the hotel was full and they were to give us an alternative hotel. There was no communication until Dec 31 when we wrote to them. Then they tried to book us for the same price at a mediocre hotel hotel costing them 1/6the of what we paid. We declined then they offered a $100 refund which we also declined until they refunded the entire amount. Horrible never again.

I booked a hotel in Milpitas California…

I booked a hotel in Milpitas California they sent me a confirmation for a hotel in Texas
I called the Algotel customer services . The customer service representative was from India and I couldn’t understand a word. He said he did tell me that that they had to check with their hotel partner I ask who their hotel partner was and he told me it was none of my concern. They refused to change my reservation to the correct hotel. I waited three days to get a resolution so I finally canceled and booked with another hotel site

missold hotel (was not a 4* as advertised) and did not provide any assistance nor compensation

sold me a booking for a 4*hotel, which was not more than 2* (NB: Luxor Hotel, Buenos Aires)did not meet the local requirements for a 4*) and when I complained, they did nothing but asked me to speak to the receptionist... Did not offer to move me to any alternative hotel, did not offer compensation either... DO NOT USE ALGOTELS!!

Algotels…a right proper rip

Booked a two day stay through Algotels site. Broke my leg and was unable to travel. Contacted customer support to cancel the second of the two nights and I am still waiting for a reply. The hotel was wllling to waive the second day but needed Algotels to approve it. I paid for two nights and used the second day as a very late checkout time. The lesson? Booking based on price alone is not the best solution. I will never go near Algotels again.

Scammed too

Scammed too. I believed I was booking through Trivago but only realised it wasn’t when the receipt for the payment arrived. Looked up the reviews and felt sick! Immediately phoned my credit company and the payment had been accepted. The only confirmation I have is that Algotels have my money but it states in bold on the receipt “ it is not confirmation of the booking”? What did I actually pay for then? It’s a celebration holiday for my 60th birthday and I was paying for my son, who I haven’t seen for 3 years to join us. Now this can’t happen. I’m gutted as are the other family members joining me. How can you do this to people???? It’s disgusting. -10 stars would be more appropriate.

Never use Algotels NEVER EVER EVER...EVER

Never use Algotels. Worse EVER. Threw me under the bus after the hotel I booked with them tried scamming me for more money and didn't honor the confirmation. Nasty and disappointing experience. All attempts to get refund for reservation the hotel cancelled are met with a "sorry, we have strict no refund policy" which is basically "we don't give a rat's a$$ about our one time customers we know will never use us ever again. STAY AWAY. Stick with reputable booking companies only. Lesson definitely learned.

Booked 2 rooms for a Christmas break in…

Booked 2 rooms for a Christmas break in Miami. Arrived at the hotel to find no booking! Luckily we were able to pay for 2 new rooms. 5 days on and Algotels still don’t have any answers! The hotel told us that other guests arrived having booked through Algotels and also didn’t have reservations - they were not as lucky as the hotel had no availability! Avoid this company like the plague!

Would never use again

Never left a review before but felt this warranted one. Made two booking with Algotels through Trivago. I hadn’t heard of Algotels but as it was through Trivago I trusted it. I rang the hotel to ask that rooms be located close to each other. Hotel advised they had no bookings. Algotels advised that they wouldn’t until a day or two before arrival. Hotel then advised that they thought it may be scam. Pressed Algotels for an answer and they advised due to a technical issue both booking have been cancelled.

Good experience to report

I had a very positive experience witb Algotels for my hotel booking in Hong Kong in December 2025. Best rates on the web and had no issues checking in etc.

The largely negative reviews on Algotels are therefore puzzling to me.

This a scam

This a scam, pretending to be hotel booking through Booking.com. We arrived at our hotel but there was no actual booking despite receiving a booking number and email confirmation.
I'm surprised they are still able to operate despite being a scam.

Scam Website

I booked a room at the Saracens Head Hotel, Southwell via Trivago and then Algotels four weeks ago. On arrival the hotel had no record of the booking and advised that they do not accept bookings other than via Booking.com

After spending an hour on the hotel phone talking to various agents in Singapore it became obvious that the “customer care” personnel were just time wasters. I will seek a refund via my credit card company.

When I confirmed my reservation with…

When I confirmed my reservation with the hotel, I was told Algotels had cancelled the reservation. I made another reservation with the hotel and paid them directly. Algotels did not take responsibility and did not issue any kind of refund. Hotel said Algotels had cancelled reservation 5 times before check-in.

Scam company that frauds people

I showed up at the motel I booked with a fake booking number the card this company used was declined i was on the phone with the company for 3 hours trying to get it fixed ended up having to book it through the motel itself. Don't use this company if you want a room bc you won't get a room and you won't get your money back from them either. The BBB told me there a scam. Im looking into filing a lawsuit on them now.
