Trustpilot reports say Adyen should be avoided.
My eBay seller was unable to supply an item I bought because, he stated, Adyen was holding large amounts of his funds, and he was unable to negotiate with Adyen about this.
Reviews on Trustpilot show that Adyen has destroyed its own good reputation. Adyen needs to rebuild its systems centering on the needs of final customers like me who ultimately make the profits for Adyen.
I am going to look for ways to avoid using Adyen.
SEPA Direct Debit with enourmous commissions
I am final customer and having purchased an item I ended up with a SEPA Direct Debit that is actually charging me with a commission of 3 € for every monthly payment! All i know is that it's not the fault of my local bank (because with other PSP such as Stripe i wasn't getting charged with any commission).
And by looking around I see that I have no way to fix this thing, because the Adyen's customer support can't talk to me as I am a final customer.
PS: yes I've read the official pricing list and even if I had to pay commissions, it would be something around (€0.10 + € 0.25), which is nowhere near the 3€ they are taking now.

Do not reply to emails for days, when urgent help is required. Tech support can not help with financial queries but the finance team to not respond in reasonable time. They will not call you it is all by email which is useless. Platform is incredibly complicated but no training is offered. Awful experience.

Ebay users leaving in droves because of flawed ID verification
Adyen's managed payments ID verification on Ebay has become a nightmare to say the least, with scores of sellers who had previously been selling on the site for 5, 10, 15 years and longer, now leaving due to their impossible system of trying to prove identity verification.
I have personally opened building society and bank accounts for ISAs and bonds and NEVER had to go through the minefield that Adyen puts in place.
It is ridiculous to assume that every single person drives a car and therefore has a driving license, and everyone has a valid passport. Both of these I do not have, and why should I pay £100 to get a new passport when I am not planning on travelling abroad, just to satisfy Adyen? For many individuals selling on Ebay the purpose is to make a little extra money, and in these cash strapped times, who can afford £100 when that might be needed to pay their next heating bill?
Look on any bank or building society financial institution's website, and they all state that other means of ID - if unable to provide passport or driving license - would be, for example, a letter from the Department of Works and Pensions stating entitlement to a state benefit plus a utility bill.
Why does Adyen not accept these? What makes them so different? Why do they want a photo ID - no bank of building society requires if providing evidence as above mentioned.
Ebay sellers are now frustrated and annoyed with these draconian measures set up by Adyen.

ALERT!!! They change your account settings without consent and informing you!!!
STOP!!! Avoid using Adyen as this is an incredible sad experience as a company using them as our payment provider.
This time they made fundamental changes to our account setup without informing us, which has now lead to many customers payments being rejected. It has of course have taken time to figure out that payments were rejected because they made a fundamental change in our account without informing us but what is worse is that now 1 week later they have still not resolved it and the consequence is us loosing lot's of business every day. Meanwhile we are loosing business every day due to the changes they made in our Account Settings without our consent and without informing us at any time.
A little more than a year ago we had another issue with them with regards to their reports where we were not able to match our financial reports with the input from their reports and after tons of emails and meetings with them we finally together with them came to the conclusion that the reports they provided their customers are not correct and figures not matching. They could not give any timeline on fixing this issue but we should expect minimum +6 months.
Many other options for payment providers so choose one with good ratings who take their customers business serious and avoid such a bad provider like Adyen.
We wish we never started with them (customer through 10 years) but will now initiate a process moving to a provider valuing and protecting our business!!!

I made a payment through adyen and it was the worst experience I had. They aggregated my payment from Trustly. Then my payment is lost on the way but it is taken from my bank account.
Now neither merchant, nor trustly nor adyen take responsibility for the money lost and none of them helps with it. They say they are not responsible.
Just avoid this company to avoid problems. Look very carefully not to get scammed by adyen

We recently joined Adyen to acquire payments, and have found the process extremely smooth. The support team is always on hand to review our cases. Cannot fault them as a provider.
Misrepresentation of Services for Platforms!
My technical team has wasted 1 month of integration time on Integrating Adyen, only to find out that they have misrepresented themselves and the services that they offer.
Here's the nightmare that my team had to go through when we decided to migrate our platform's payment processor to Adyen.
We were initially attracted to the wide variety of local payment solutions that are offered in Southeast Asia, as mentioned on their page (/payment-methods). We were also attracted by their transparent pricing on their pricing page (/pricing)
1. Their website has indicated that they offer a service for marketplaces to process payments to vendors and merchants (/our-solution/marketplaces-and-platforms)
2. Their website has a clear pricing page and mention that there is a pricing for "all business sizes" (/pricing)
3. Their team manually approved the test account my company has applied for and have approved the use-case, providing us the API for testing/integration.
4. Our team spent 1 month integrating and testing their API, with back-and-forth clarification on the integration of their API with their support team
5. When we applied for our test account to go live, their sales team sent us a canned response stating that all platforms are not allowed to use their service.
6. When I clarified, the sales representative informed us that they "only support businesses with turnover of US15 million and above" (This is a clear misrepresentation and is incongruent to how they had represented themselves in their website as well as documentation!)
7. I wrote in to them, and they claimed that they were not misrepresenting themselves and that our business should consider their competitors.
For all companies that are under 100 employees, please do not waste your time on this service provider. I had first found out about it from review sites ranking payment providers, and I was keen to try it out - but it led to us losing valuable development time on our product.
Their marketing messaging, user onboarding process and user experience has misrepresented their actual services. STAY AWAY FROM ADYEN IF YOU ARE A TECH STARTUP OR SMALL COMPANY.
