Unfortunate Experience with Club Class Cars York

First off, I’d like to say the service from the sales team was great, probably one of the better experiences I’ve had when purchasing a car. I dealt with Mark, who was super polite and very attentive to my needs throughout the process. Honestly, if I’d had no issues with the car, this would have been a 4/5-star review.

However, three days after purchasing my new car, the driver’s side front suspension developed a noise. After getting it diagnosed, I was informed that it was the adaptive suspension system. From researching the fault, it typically occurs in cars around 55–65k miles; however, my car had only 38k miles, which already felt off and gave me a bad feeling. On top of that, after speaking to a few garages and checking online, it appears the adaptive suspension leaks before it fails! something any competent garage should easily spot, which brings me to my main gripe.

The repair cost came to just shy of £800. Given the car was supposedly serviced by either their own or a partnered garage before purchase, this leaves two possibilities: the servicing garage failed to identify an obvious issue, or they did identify it and the dealership chose to sell the car regardless. Either scenario is extremely concerning.

If the dealership knowingly sold a car with a fault of this nature, I find that absolutely unacceptable and frankly disgusting. Selling a vehicle with a known issue that costs around £800 to fix shows a complete disregard for customer trust and basic standards of honesty.

I appreciate I cannot prove whether they were informed or not, which is why this remains a 3-star review. However, if it turns out they were aware and sold the car anyway, this would easily drop to 2 stars.

Also worth noting: the “free” warranty supplied with the car only covers £500. I did liaise with them to obtain a bit more assistance, but regardless, selling a car with a fairly serious fault is shocking.

Warning to others: if you are told the car has been serviced, I would strongly advise double-checking everything yourself. Based on my experience, the partnered garage either missed a very obvious issue or failed to carry out a thorough inspection, which does not inspire confidence in the quality of their work.

Instructions left me car-less!

Experience was great with customer service but I received an email prior to collection saying that I needed to tax and book the 7 day drive off insurance which I did as instructed, only for the tax to be cancelled off on the day of collection. I am now without a car for up to 2 weeks possibly till my v5c comes and I need to get to work.

Because of this I Can’t even drive it during the 7 day drive off insurance so that’s gone to waste as well.

They sent an email saying I needed to tax ready for collection I followed the guidelines and now am on foot for the foreseeable until my V5C arrives. You need to revise your emails cazoo so that this doesn’t happen, horrible experience having a new car sat on the drive I can’t use.
