I have been a Barclays Customer for over 30 years. Whilst travelling through / in France I received a call from their fraud team, telling me that someone was making multiple unauthorised attempts to defraud my card in Croydon. I was very sceptical and unhelpful to the Barclays team, refusing to give my date of birth / any details, but they called me back and gave me a direct number to their fraud team. I had no cash and was travelling through toll roads, and when they informed me that the card should be locked down - I phoned them back. We agreed that the account would be locked, but that I could call them when I got to a BNP cash point, withdraw €300 then re-lock the account. Barclays were amazing, and saved my holiday and a whole load of stress. They cancelled my card and reissued a new one as soon as I got back to the UK.
