Last chance to put this right tomorrow......
Oh, dear! Ordered a couple of pairs of cheap shoes from Sprts Direct last Monday evening. Total cost only £10. Was surprised delivery was as much as £3.99 but whatever, the shoes were still cheap.. Email follow up from sports direct promising MAX 5 working day delivery. Not exactly swift, but whatever. Then an email from Yodel with tracking number and link to site. All good so far. Then on checking the tracking for progress (as signature was required), I start to see dreaded "problem with address" cropping up and package being returned. Now, my house has a name AND a number however the name is the one found on the usual Internet drop down menu most companies use so I used that. Amazon, eBay, Vodafone, pizza delivery men have all found me. After all there are only two actual houses on the street! The post office finds me every day, unfortunately! So I use Yodel's online chat facility to clarify the situation. All done you would think. Just to be sure, I send an email to Yodel and Sports Direct. After a couple of days waiting, I hear from a nice lady at Yodel social.media. Explain everything again. She says she'll fix it all and I'll get delivery today Wednesday. Wait home until 2 when I need to go out so I call her. Ah, she says, it seems the message hasn't been received by the depot. At 430pm she calls back and says that a man called Pat will call me and its definitely all on for Thursday, 10 full days after ordering! No call yet from postman Pat. We will see..... The sad thing is that I would NEVER order from Sprts Direct again. It's just not worth the hassle. Which is a shame as the shoes look really good value....

IT'S HERE!!
Following another phone conversation with Laura from Yodel Customer Service, delivery was promised today! Sure enough, I waited at home this afternoon and the doorbell went! Very pleasant driver handed over my package. Package had tape on it showing that it had been "repackaged by Yodel" for some reason but the contents appeared intact. Looked across the road to see a van hire vehicle rather than a branded van. Had a quick chat with the driver who said he had come all the way down from Middlesex and was not a regular driver. The shoes are actually too small but there is no way I would want to go through all the hassle of exchanging them. Just glad it is all over before I have to go away tomorrow. Thanks to Laura for her help but there is no way this should have taken 11 days, 5 emails, 5 phone conversations etc etc. The High St has nothing to worry about after an experience like this. My first bad online buying experience and from now on I will buy my shoes from a shop.....
