Non-existent customer service, a company that really doesn't care
03/01. 4.40pm. Several emails and lengthy phone calls, still not able to withdraw cash from ATM. Apparently a known problem and no specific timeframe for resolution. Wrecked our holiday, charges incurred. Absolute financial scam, allowing people to put money on card knowing that there's no possible way for people to withdraw it. And equally as bad, not communicating that there is a known problem. No customer service at all.
29/12 7.30pm. NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE: so, tried to withdraw cash, unsuccessful and saying invalid amount despite FairFX customer service person confirming funds now available on card. Will try card payment later, fully expecting it to be declined. Absolute jokers.
29/12 4.30pm. LATEST UPDATE: for anyone having cards declined or unable to withdraw money we've just been able to speak to Fairfx by phone. Apparently although there is a euro balance, this is only in the account, not on the card and we have to transfer euros from account balance to card using the move money feature (make sure you select euro). Trying it soon,wish us luck ... we will update. Everything crossed that this is successful.
29/12 2pm. NEW UPDATE: still no response from this bunch, still not able to withdraw cash or pay using a card. Why bother offering a service if you can't deliver?!
28/12 UPDATE: Now on holiday, my partner has both gbp and euros on his card, unable to withdrawn euros, virtual card declined in restaurants, no response to emails, chat is useless. Embarrassing and leaving us not knowing how we are going to pay for our accommodation. The only option at the moment is to withdraw cash on a credit or debit card incurring unacceptable costs which we will be looking to recover from this company.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Shocking from the moment I had to upgrade about a month ago, the whole experience has been dreadful. Poor response to emails, standard answers, no resolution, hours on the phone. Not able to top up card out of hours despite time spent on the phone today and reassured I wouldn't have a problem going forward.
App not fit for purpose, poor customer service.
I do not recommend and am looking at alternative options card cancelled and account closed.
