Never consider Medtronic as your supplier
There are several insulin Pumps and CGMs available nowadays do not choose Medtronic as your supplier. It will be constant problems with very little support if any.
If you have had any of the problems listed below, whether or not Medtronic solved your problem, please do not hesitate to contact me:
1 - Overtapes that do not adhere to the skin causing loss of sensors (Summer period)
2 - Medtronic Requesting the patients to purchase and pay for tapes to be used instead of Medtronic overtapes already paid for by the NHS.
3 - Excruciate delays to replace sensors lost. Medtronic excuse is that single sensors are not in stock and can take a very long time to replace them. (I have been waiting for 23 days and they still do not have any forecast at all for the delivery they just stated that it will take a very long time. We are just supposed to request new sensors to be paid for by the NHS) Isn't it amazing they do not have any single sensors but they do have plenty of boxes paid for the NHS!!!
3 - Sensors with non-retractable needles. This happens often as I have already seen complaints regarding that. Medtronic wrote to me that was the Inserter that I am using unaware that I have 2 Inserters - one completely new and one that I have been using for 9 months. Unless they sell Inserters without testing them there is no way that the problem is with the new and the old Inserters but with the sensors supplied. It appears to me that Medtronic have insufficient single sensors to supply consequently they do not want to take responsibility for sensors with defects so they do not have to replace them at extra cost for the patient/NHS!!!
Please note there was no rude conduct from Medtronic staff towards me.
