As first-time home buyers, my partner tried to plan for every possible hiccup, but we still got caught off guard by an unexpected hurdle. A lender delay led to penalties, and our deposit had to come from a single account-but Zown had our backs. They covered all wire fees, penalty for late closing, and even drywall repairs after we took ownership.

They moved fast-scheduling viewings late at night and made the process seamless with virtual paperwork. Their smart advice, like doing a pre-inspection, helped us win the bid without going over budget.

In the end, we made it happen—we are scrappy second-generation immigrant kids who grew up in rental housing their entire lives, to now owning a fully detached home in Toronto before 30, with no generational wealth or family help. Huge thanks to Zown for supporting us every step of the way!

Our experience with Zown was a rollercoaster, but in the end, we got the home we wanted without going over budget—something that was incredibly important to us.

From the beginning, Zown was quick and efficient. We requested viewings late on a Friday night (around 10-11 PM), and they made it happen. The process was seamless and modern, with everything—communication, paperwork, and signatures—handled virtually, except for house viewings, just as it should be with a modern brokerage.

That being said, there were challenges along the way. Our closing was delayed due to a lender issue, and we were hit with penalties. While this wasn’t Zown’s fault, their broker partner stepped up and covered the costs, which was a huge relief. After closing, we discovered drywall damage, and once again, Zown took responsibility, covering the contractor fees to fix it.

Another hiccup was that the lawyer team didn’t advise us about securing home insurance, which could have been a serious problem. However, Zown stepped in again, negotiating fee discounts on our behalf, helping to offset the costs.

On the strategic side, they gave us great advice, like recommending a pre-inspection so we could go firm on offer night, ultimately helping us win the bid in a competitive market.

Despite the hurdles, Zown consistently had our backs, ensuring that we weren’t left to deal with unexpected costs on our own. If you’re looking for a brokerage that moves fast, embraces modern convenience, and truly advocates for its clients, Zown is a solid choice.

Buying our first home was a huge milestone, and we've been incredibly happy with Zown’s support throughout the process. The fact that Zown gives a good portion of it back to buyers as cashback (which can be directly applied to the down payment too) is immensely helpful.
