Valuable Learning Experience and Regroup Opportunities
VALUABLE LEARNING: The content was intensive but well-structured, and I gained significantly more hands‑on experience during the five‑week course than I typically get from the one‑hour sessions offered at work. I also learned prompting techniques that I can apply even in my non‑technical, non‑marketing role, which helped me think beyond my usual contracts/procurement focus. Our Learning Coordinator, Brent, was consistently responsive and helpful in resolving any technical issues that arose. REGROUP OPPORTUNITIES: I struggled with resubmitting assignments due to the graders’ lack of access to the completed playbook assignments. I had to resubmit Lessons 3 and 4 at least twice due to access problems. Although the “how to submit assignment” video was helpful, a quick reference guide for re‑submissions would have been extremely valuable. I also found it challenging that the hands‑on, lesson‑focused portion of the Wednesday sessions was held at the END of the 7:00–9:00 pm class. If it had been reviewed at the beginning, I would have been more alert—especially since my days start at 4:00 am—and my retention would likely have been higher. Finally, the class placed a heavy emphasis on current tools and technologies in the marketplace, as the instructor was very knowledgeable. As a new user of AI tools, that portion felt a bit overwhelming and somewhat irrelevant for me.

Clear, interesting and not repetitive
The online training was very clear and well paced. It showed the right examples and it was not repetitive. I did not attend any of the online classes as I had a conflict that the settle time, however I did attend a Q&A session and my questions were kindly clear with a great explantion.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first two lessons. It was hands on and knowledge that I can take directly back to my current company and utilize. I thought the next two lessons were a little slow and jumped around a bit then the last section with how to use ChatGPT in Google Sheets and Excel was also interesting. Overall, it was laid out well and I learned a lot.

The live portion were mostly TikTok…
The live portion were mostly TikTok videos to bring people up to speed on what is happening with AI. While this is good, the entire 2-hour session was focused on this. It would be better if the live instruction was supplemental to the online instruction to really bring home the concepts. That said, the help from TAs was very good and provided excellent direction on completing the assignments. The assignments were marketing focused, I would have liked to see more variety of experience.

Not worth it
This course is extremely outdated and offers little to no hands-on coding practice. You would be better off using platforms like Codecademy or DataCamp, which provide up-to-date material, practical exercises, and a certificate at a much lower cost. I would not recommend this course to anyone.

Personable & Engaging with just the right amount of rigor
The instructors were very personable and knowledgeable and more than willing to engage. They also encouraged students to reach out to each other in order to deepen the course experience. The large weekly online meetings were full of good tips and exercises as well. The course was challenging but not overly difficult (which was the right balance for me).
