Bought a subscription 3 years ago (forgot I had).
Without my knowledge ZenMate added an auto-renewal to my PayPal account. I got an email on 3rd April informing me they have taken money from my Paypal, I requested a refund on the 4th of April. I have reminded them several times, but I only get an automated response, telling me how to download ZenMate (now cyberghost)

How is this different from a SCAM?

26/04/24 - I have received refund after requesting it via Paypal, rather than directly through cleverbridge or Zenmate.

Scam. Stopped working halfway through a 3 year subscription, no replies to my support emails, so I forgot about it and opened an account with nordvpn. Found out after £52 was suddenly without warning billed to my credit card that my subscription to a broken service had been renewed for 3 more years. No prior warning as is required in the UK. Claimed for refund, no reply. I'll be doing a chargeback through my credit card.

I purchased a 3 year service from these vendors,paid good money.
After about 1 year it became impossible to sign in.
I sent an email to service and received a response 2 months later stating that "due to many tickets there could be a delay".

When they requested payment, there was NO delay.

Then I tried to "recover account ", new password and even received confirmation email that accout was re-activated, so I happily tried to sign in to my reactivated account and....

FOUND OUT THAT THEY LIED!

If you need a reliable VPN , I suggest you try elsewhere.

Pure scam.

I get a 1 year subscription, it is not letting me change my password, it is not letting me login the app. They did not even send me an invoice. I tried to contact their customer service, they always ask the invoice number, which they do not send. Pure scam.

They joined with cyberghost vpn. It got even more worse, I can login to their service but it is not even usable. I bought the thing to connect servers from different countries, but it only allows you to connect 4 countries if you have the browser extension. And I definitely will not install their shady 10 year old app to my computer.

Stay away from ZenMate and Cyber Ghost VPN. It is cheap but not working at all.

Zenmate has closed . They have moved all their customers to Cyberghost... theory. On my case, I bought last year a 3 years subscription and I still have more than 2 years. I am not able to login on the new platform of Cyberghost. I have asked Zenmate help but I just got promises. I have contacted Cyberghost and they just say that isn't their businesses. I should contact Zenmate . But Zenmate has stopped to reply. The most interesting that I have discovered both brands belong to the same company,named Kape technology.They own Express VPN,Zenmate, Cyberghost,Private Internet Access (PIA).Kape technologies is a recent name.This company name before was Crossrider.
But Crossrider was accused a few years ago to inject customers devices with adware and malware while collecting personal data from customers. They just changed name and since 2018 they are Kape technologies. My investigation has helped me to discover that just 5 large companies have the control of dozen of VPN providers. Can we trust these people? Not at all...

SCAM SCAM SCAM.Their App is never working. You can NOT use on your phone. When you call them, They NEVER answer you. You can NOT log in zenmate account. Even if you log in, It doesn't give you the service. They can NOT connected. OVERALL HORRIBLE company. Check others. Trust me.

Absolute Scam
It was a reference company until a few years ago. I purchased a subscription last year (2022) and was not told anything about having automatic re-subscription. I sent an email asking for a refund for the re-subscription (since I don't even use the service), I sent all the account details and explained that I didn't want to continue using it. I didn't get any response and since then I can't log in to my account to see if the subscription is still active or not.

Found out it's a scam a bit too late for my liking.

The worst customer service ever after I informed them their product didn't work for me.

They promised a 30 day refund guarantee if the customer is not happy but came with useless comments and excuses when asked for a refund after one week.

The customer care team is usually from Philippines and Romania and their job is to distract you and come with excuses so that you get tired. Extremely Disrespectful behaviour of ZenMate because of their dishonesty.

For some years the Zenmate worked fine, but all the time the customer service needed at minimum 48 hours to react. Now, if they react it take weeks and then you get useless answer and they do not reply, in the case that the desktop VPN Zenmate 5 does not work as it should. I recommend not to use Zenmate, it has become a scam.

Run away from these scammers. When you deactivate the automatic subscription, this rubbish stops working. I have 182 days of subscription left. I have contacted support. THEY ASK YOU THE SAME THING and they answer with great difficulty and when you feel like it, they do not give a solution for this rubbish to work, their answer has been that It has updating problems and it will take two weeks, I think I'm the only one this is happening to, the others are doing well, right? I must tell you all these good for nothing, it's useless! your trash.
GO TO ANOTHER PLACE THEY SCAM YOU HERE!!

I ordered 3years + 3months ZenMate Ultimate. A conformation mail was sent to my email address but I could not connected to my account and I still can't connect. It's been 5 days, they took the payment but no one gives any response. I think the customer service is not working. This was a terrible experience. I want a full refund...

I suggest rather than buy this vpn give your money to any poor guy this is totally scam company. I buy three year subscription chrome extension working stopped. I've generate almost 10 tickets but not get any response from the support. I want my money back.

No te recomiendo es un desastre .me quedan 120 días de suscripción, y ha dejado de funcionar, se queda congelado en pantalla azul, contacté a soporte te contestan a los 15 días, sin solución, aquí os dejo.

At the beginning everything worked fine but since weeks I can't connect to the internet anymore when using zenmate VPN. It's not working with Android or Windows.
I tried three times to contact the support but I got no response.
Save your money and look somewhere else!

Mac Application doesn't work and there is no response on the tickets. Looks like a scam company. Disappointed.
Purchased it for 3 years.

DO NOT BUY THIS SERVICE. their service is not working last 4 months. I send a message to the customer service maybe 10 times. There is NO answers. nobody is there.

Speeds are horrible and often I have to turn Zenmate off to connect to the web at all. Do not recommend.

Automatically renewed after THREE YEARS with no notification. Went to the website and clicked on 'cancel renewal', filled in the form only to be told I would have to contact customer services. SIX REQUESTS later and I still haven't any refund or even an acknowledgement. Poor, poor, poor.
