We have been using Zebra mobile…

We have been using Zebra mobile terminals for some time and overall they work very well. The devices are reliable and robust, which is important in warehouse and logistics environments. The only downside is the higher price compared to some other brands.

For label printing we have had better experience with TSC printers – they offer great performance and good value for money.

420D is a piece of sh1t printer. Changes port settings when you have any disconnect. Zebra have withdrawn support for this printer which is still being promoted and sold as the best one for use with Royal Mail Click and Drop.

Please buy another brand

Absolute brick of a product. Won't connect to bluetooth for hours. More hours to connect to wifi. Never connects to cloud.

And when it is set up, you could be waiting a whole day for 1 label to print. Shit of the highest order.

Service price higher than buying a new one.

Contacted tech support regarding a brand new ZT411 printer out of the box. After well over 1 hour, the rep advised me nothing else could be done and that I would have to send it in. Even though it was brand new out of the box, the warranty would not apply because it had been over 30 days since purchased. They quoited me: $463.05 repair and $970.20 for the part for a total of: $1433.25. You can buy a brand new one on Amazon brand new for $1200.

Pretty useless

Printer went wrong pretty much new. Prints white lines down everything, have wasted so much money on printer labels. Didn't report for a while as was in busy seasons and couldn't be without the printer and quite frankly didn't have time (even if it was taking me 10 labels to get one correct) and was then out of warranty - fine. Contacted anyway as needed it to be fixed, was then told I need to pay for the fix and also be without a printer for however long that takes. They cant come and fix it here and they cant provide a temp printer while its fixed so essentially if you are a busy business you can't get it fixed as you would have to buy another printer to manage for the time it was away being fixed anyway. Have seen this is pretty much the standard of Zebra printers and most of them don't seem to work.

Support is difficult to reach and slow to respond

I really appreciate their products. We have a couple of hand scanners and label printers.
Unfortunately both printers broke down last week.
I opened an initial ticket on 08/05 which obtained an email response on 12/05, and a support call on the 14/05.
I was asked to create an online repair request which for some inexplicable and frustrating reason I was unable to complete : "Method WriteRecord is not allowed here.(SBL-UIF-00348)"
The most frustrating though was that you can't reach anyone for direct assistance : no email, no phone number. Their chatbot, as with most, is very limited and therefore useless.
I tried opening another support ticket, but gave up as visibly I wasn't going to get a swift response.
I finally decided to take the printer apart and was able to discover the part number of the faulty blackline sensor; which I ordered on eBay for 16€. Sorted.

Very frustrating and unresponsive to Compaints

Very frustrating and unresponsive to issues and complaints.

Case: 21294657

I need a repair for my Printer as it has chewed up to very expensive ribbons after printing only a few cards. I have contacted customer support and reported the issues by email to the company and they just ignore me. The support agents say that they do not know why you need a company name to be able to get a RMA repair done. I am a private individual and do not have a company and it will not allow me to egenrate the repair RMA. There website will not allow you past a certain point and then it fails. I have not had a single reply to my emails nor have they replied to my complaints to customer services about this issue.

So if you are not a business that is in there database the do not by a machione from them as the warranty is worthless. I am having to go see trading standrds and a solicitor to see what I can do. This will cost me money but it is better that having 1000s pounds of a printer that does not work.

If only I had checked the reviews…

If only I had checked the reviews before buying my Zebra label printer.

After about 12 months of use, the printer began printing labels with a wide vertical blank space that often renders the barcode unusable.

I contacted Zebra in December 2024. What followed was months of failed communication: repeated fault-finding emails that didn’t resolve the issue. Multiple phone appointments were arranged but nobody called. Calls were late or cancelled without notice. Countless contradictory emails from different staff. On one occasion, I was told they had tried to call me, even though my phone hadn't rung and there were no missed calls.

Despite repeatedly confirming my availability and asking to be contacted if an appointment couldn’t be kept, the same pattern continued.

I am now having to raise yet another support ticket for the same repeating problem.

This is, without doubt, the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Zebra’s Trustpilot score reflects this, with the majority of reviews rated one star.

Excellent customer support

I didn’t even purchase my printer directly from zebra and the customer support was excellent.

I had some issues with barcodes printing incorrectly on shipping labels. They went above and beyond to help fix the problem.

Contacting them on the zebra live chat.

They are not sending out sending review requests, which is probably why the rating is so low on TrustPilot

Before You Buy a Zebra Printer

Before You Buy a Zebra Printer:
A Word of Caution
If you're considering a Zebra product, know that these devices are far from "Plug and Play",
Unless you're lucky enough to have fully compatible hardware and software, you'll need significant network and computer skills to get things running smoothly.

Here’s what to prepare for:
* Configuring IP ports and bypassing firewalls.
* Restarting networks and troubleshooting
* Unpredictable communication breakdowns.

Dealing with a printer that can feel like a "dangling pointer" in your system—requiring persistence and technical know-how to make it work.
When it works, the Zebra printer performs well. But when it doesn't, you may find yourself frustrated, with your productivity derailed.

For Zebra: Consider hiring external consultants or streamlining your software for a truly user-friendly experience.
Until then, these printers are best suited for users with IT expertise—or those ready to learn.

It is a really good product which trips at the finish line, ...forcing you to go back to start...

Please Zebra, please, please, please

Btw: I installed a Brother simultaneously which more or less did the work for me and still communicates and still "doesn´t forget" and still is connected to the network.

I bought a classic license for card printing software and paid for it, but never received any license, have written to support, no answer, to sales as well no answer. This company cannot be trusted, it's a scam really. Keep away from them

Literally the most worthless support…

Literally the most worthless support from a company who sell devices that cost over $1,000 I've ever experienced. Want to update your operating system? Hah. Nope. No download unless you have a company with a support contract with them. But hey, here's a list of "partners" who won't do that for you. Their partners want to sell new products, not provide upgrades for old products. They aren't a cell phone store. Your TC devices might as well be bricks. If you aren't a large corporation, they don't give a damn what you do.

ZEBRA SUCKS

This seems like a classic scam. Double billed me and two months later I'm still trying to get a refund. Stonewall with requested for info I don't have. I purchased a single item, was double billed and the ability to provide a refund is foreign to these folks. VISA complaint next. NOT RECCOMENDED

Are Zebra scammers?

In my opinion Zebra Tecnologies are a bunch of scammers.
Several years agoo I bought a Zebra ZXP 1 series including the software with a license forever.
Now I bought another computer and I wanted the software for my printer but it was no longer supported. I contacted the supplier in Hollandand it was still possible but I had to buy the new software for about € 95 and I call this trickery. Why buy new software when I alredy have payed for it, it is scam.
Also the international support told me the same story as her in Holland and they told me that the sofware was no longer supported.
I am angry and dissapointed in Zebra an I will tell every entrepeneur in my network what scammers Zebra are. Why Zebra Why, please answer my question or tell me wher I can dowmload the software for free

Zero support

Zero support. I have tried everything to set this printer up. There are several different documents all sending you in different directions to show you how to set up your printer, none of the steps make sense, none of the options to choose from are correct and there's no way to contact anyone. My printer is flashing red - now what? I've sent an email to the company but I need to print today. SO FRUSTRATING.
