It was different, quirky, tasty and went a surprisingly long way in my meal. Also, excellent source of protein and really good for the environment - so added bonus. Tastes really good!
I was hesitant to try Yum Bug but it turned out to be absolutely delicious! The gnocchi was my personal favourite, and the crickets added a hint of spice. The sourdough and butter was to die for!... See more
Leo and Aaron made everyone feel like a VIP with their warm welcome and checking in with us during the meal. My daughter and I loved every dish we tasted, right from the Roasted Crickets and Sunfl... See more

About Yum Bug
Yum Bug is a London based start-up on a mission to take edible insects mainstream – with grub that looks delicious and tastes amazing. Our insect recipe kits make it easy to cook sustainable, healthy and delicious insect meals at home.
Bugs are delicious!
Insects can be an important part of a more sustainable food system as one of the most sustainable protein sources in the world. Not just that but they’re incredibly nutritious and are actually very tasty! Insects are eaten in over 80% of the countries so in many ways – you’re the weirdo!

Of course I was skeptical at first, but I was even more intrigued- so I booked a table!
It was delicious to say the least. I did not once feel like I was having something I'm not supposed to. The texture and taste were like lamb meat which left me quite surprised. I will eat it again :)
In a word, incredible! This was second experience of insect dining and the food was great insane - so innovative (which I hate to say, given we’ve eaten insects as a species for millennia) and delicious.
I would highly recommend checking out whatever the YumBug crew does next. Lovely people and great ideas 💡
Forgive the pun but YumBug was a lively trendy restaurant with a real buzz going on. The food was delicious and the founders were approachable and open to feedback.
The menu was easy to follow and I liked the way the use of the cricket ingredients was explained.
My favourites: the flatbread pizza, the meatballs and the chocolate brownie pudding. All fantastic!
THIS IS THE BEST RESTAURANT IVE EVER BEEN TO! Here’s why:
- The experience was unique and intimate with personal greeting from the creators👬 The guys spoke about their personal interest in the bug industry and their childhood fascination with them.
- The menu was diverse and each dish was crafted perfectly and complimented eachother so well. There was so many different ways the crickets were prepared if you didn’t like one way!🥗🧆
- The message and marketing is amazing and a really good reflection of the values of the company is mirrored in the restaurant!✅
Amazing. I thought I would be a little squeamish at first, but was really interested as I know the environmental and health benefits.
As soon as the first dish arrived I dived straight in, no hesitation! It all looked incredible and tasted amazing!! If I hadn’t known what the meat was made from, I would never have guessed it wasn’t pulled pork or beef!
The flavours in all the dishes were exquisite. Definitely a fan!
Really love what these guys are trying to do! Went to their pop up recently and was really impressed with what they were able to do with a great variety of dishes (caramelised crickets on ice cream... who knew it worked?!)
Can't wait to see what delicious stuff they cook up in the future!
The food was excellent! We tried every dish on the menu and they were all really tasty and very well curated. Insects are tastefully integrated in the recipes to appeal everyone’s taste (or sight) . The point isn’t taking part to a “I am celebrity get me out of here” challenge but to experience delicious food with a new source of protein, bugs 😊! Loved it (please come back!)
Really friendly, intelligent waiting staff. Lots of good food, excellent presentation, wide variety of dishes showing a variety of ways in which insect protein can be the highlight.
Decor was a bit Spartan, but this was a pop-up. We set the menu alight, but that didn't cause undue alarm.
Very delicious food and way better for the world than eating beef, pork, etc.
The food was delicious - weirdly, the brownie and the ice cream with caramelised bugs were especially fine. Apart from the charmingly crunchy and cleverly seasoned fried bugs we had at the very start, we wouldn't have known about the bugs if the menu hadn't been so clear. Lovely staff too.
Food was very tasty. Lots of creativity with the dishes from each chef. Good intro to what bug food can be. If you're curious, go try out the best insect based dishes and decide for yourself. Staff were welcoming and founders were happy to engage with all guests.
Amazing Experience and an eye-opening dinner
So grateful for both founders coming round and talking to each table and explaining their stories! This is going to be epic!
Great experience, great food my husband can be a bit funny with food, but he absolutely loved it. Looking forward to coming to your restaurant when you open
Delicious, nutrious and the solution to feeding an every growing population without ripping the planet to pieces.
Delicious food, good variety - what an innovative way to provide protein-packed meals in a low-carbon way. Delicious, would definitely return!
A great pop up offering a wonderful opportunity to try something new. All of the dishes were tasty, but the seasoned whole crickets were probably the most interesting. Keep it simple.
I look forward to going back if they open again.
had a great time at the pop up restaurant, and the company founders were even on hand to talk to the attendees - lovely food. the crickets were way nicer than Quorn (in my head what I think of as the biggest competitor)
Great experience, surprisingly tasty and colourful menu, would definitely return
