Unreachable Support
An Instagram account (@chatgptricks) claimed to offer a free 1-year subscription. I messaged them, and they sent me a link. I then signed up on you.com, and my email was confirmed.
I received an email saying:
"Your email has been confirmed. Congratulations on getting your 12 months of free you.com Pro. Click the link below, and your code will automatically apply at checkout. You’ll need to log in or create an account before proceeding."
However, during checkout, I still see the same pricing with no discount applied. The link they provided does not activate any discount. I also found a promo code in the URL, but when I entered it in the "Add Promo Code" section, it was marked as invalid.
I have once received response to my email, they sent me an another link but it did not work too. I sent email again but they did not response.

Incredibly affordable way to use AI models
It's an incredibly affordable way to use AI models - pretty much all that are on the market and relevant. You.com's Pro membership gives you more than the big players, at the same or sometimes even lower price. There are various setting options, such as how the AI should search the internet or the option to only access stored files and data and the ability to create AI agents (what OpenAI calls GPTs) and fine-tune them. Also, and this is also important, great customer service is included in the price. However - and this is an important point for me - the user interface is a major shortcoming. ChatGPT or Perplexity are simpler, more modern and offer more. I also find that the responses and outputs are of higher quality when I use the same AI model directly from the provider (e.g. 4o in ChaptGPT or Sonnet 3.5 directly in Claude). But I think for the price, the best customer service, and what I can do with you.com, it's still fine.
Wonderful platform!
Wonderful platform!
I've been using You.com exclusively since I got the Pro subscription. With just $15 a month you have access to all the most advanced models out there from ChatGPT o1, Claude Sonnet 3.5, Gemini, and even DeepSeek R1. The o1 model alone is already priced at $200/month on ChatGPT, so this is a steal! Also, their agents, web search and documents upload are all very useful! Customer service is fast and friendly, too!
Things work as promised
The AI services work as expected.
Fast and helpful customer service.
You.com "Then" and "Now"
Updated August 22, 2025:
I've been using You.com since I heard about it in 2020, when it took its first step. Using ChatGPT3.5 API as a foundation wasn't perfect. Still, as the years progressed, the organization began to improve it with tons of new features and then started including other AI Models in its foundation, giving users various options.
However, there have been a few miss haps here ranging to bugs, files not uploading correctly, or just adding way too many features (valuable features but also changing a lot of things, which made it complicated to find what I needed to look for, like in the settings and clear search history). There was also a problem with their "Cloudflare Security Incident" that blocked me from accessing the web for almost 5 days (Mostly 4 days and a half and I had to painstakingly contact support and give my Cloudflare Ray ID and IP address to address the issue, all while on my You.com Education Plan, all while they were on holiday as my courses opened up). I have used it for many things, such as making planners, researching and coding projects, and cybersecurity projects involving firewall and network configurations within Windows and Linux operating systems.
I haven't had any trouble with the output and response to my prompts. Don't get me wrong, this is an excellent product and gives me more value than what OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or other AI Solutions or competitors have. But "Bugs fixes, updates, and patches first. New Features later." That's all I am asking for because every time a new feature is introduced for the web version for either MacOS or Windows, it always breaks some features or settings. Or better yet, make a MacOS or Windows Native Application to give many customers a backup/alternative in case the web version goes down or breaks.
Advanced Search and Reasoning feature has been”shoty” as of recently, tried to fact check its response when I asked to use exact phrases from the source's and started noticing frequent hallucinations and facts or other statements that don’t come from the sources it pulls from. Needs an urgent fix.

When I tried to create a GPT Agent
When I tried to create a GPT Agent, based on one of my existing ChatGPT Agents, You.com limited the instructions to 200 characters. The results were as you would expect. Not good.
Powerfull assistant for research and documentation
I mainly do documentation in the medical field. My research is done by You.com. The results are very precise, the answers and references make it a very useful tool.
I'm also writing a novel and again, the help in finding better wording and syntax is valuable.
You should not ask to compose a novel, but if you express the idea by composing your own text, the help provided to improve is very useful.
I create my images myself, because on this side I can't find good results, but for search and text it's a great tool.
Finally, improvements are made often and the support is excellent. This makes it an exceptional platform

Worst Experience Ever - Unreachable Support and Unresolved Cancellation
I originally subscribed to the site out of curiosity, but this has turned into the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had with a company. I attempted to cancel my subscription in June, following every step in your cancellation process. Yet, since then, I’ve been charged £8 every month, despite my account being inactive and my lack of use for your services.
To make matters worse, there's no reliable way to contact your team. Every attempt to reach out has been blocked, with no functioning customer support options. This is completely unacceptable. The lack of support feels intentional, like a scam designed to keep charging customers without any way to resolve issues or stop payments.
Avoid this service at all costs.

Very poor experience
Very poor experience, the answer do not seem to match the expectations and the worst part is that when you want to paste a long code it create a txt file and then the model says, there is no attachment! This is sooooo infuriating. Not going to renew for a second month

Prompt refund after my mistake
I accidentally subscribed to you.com with a yearly plan instead of a monthly one late at night. When I realized my mistake the next day, I sent them an email. I received a response within 24 hours and a refund the following day. Given some of the reviews I had seen, I was pleasantly surprised by their prompt and efficient service. Thank you, Joel, for your quick reply!
Lobotomized LLMs
GPT-4-Turbo (the one with a 128k context window) has been made practically braindead because of their "You.com AI", they don't understand people don't want "You.com AI", they want GPT-4, Claude 3, etc. The LLM will also ignore your prompt and use search results, while simultaneously forgetting you even said anything. Like sending long prompts? Too bad! It will convert your entire prompt into a text file, (which will be treated as a document, not a prompt), and it will repeat itself and keep mentioning it until you create a new chat. Any junior intern could fix these problems in about one day, but these problems haven't been fixed in over two months.
Worst customer support ever
Worst customer service ever because it does not exist. I wanted a refund, in the 14 day timeframe, but they just did not care to answer.
Also the chat is the worst, because in chats with the chatgpt4 model it does not know anything from the prompts before in the same chat (a problem with almost all models) and additonally all models are worse than the originals.
very poor answers
