We had the most incredible experience in Georgia, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing guide Seseli and our wonderful driver Nico.
We travelled as a group of four friends from London, and from the moment we arrived, Seseli made us feel completely at home. She is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also genuinely kind, warm, and thoughtful. She brought Georgia to life for us its history, traditions, culture, and way of life. Thanks to her, we didn’t just see the country, we truly understood it. Her passion and care made every day special, and she went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible experience.
Nico was equally fantastic. He made every journey smooth, safe, and comfortable, no matter the distance. Always calm, friendly, and accommodating, he played a huge role in making the entire trip effortless and enjoyable. We always felt in such good hands.
Together, they made the perfect team. We saw so much, experienced so much, and created memories we’ll never forget. Georgia is an absolutely beautiful country with a rich and fascinating culture, and we feel so lucky to have experienced it with such incredible people.
This was truly one of the best trips we’ve ever had thank you, Seseli and Nico, for making it so special. We couldn’t recommend them more highly!

This was a fabulous trip. Honestly had no idea what kind of hiking to expect in Canary Islands and it exceeded my expectations! The scenery, geology , meteorology was all stunning. I said WOW, more times than I can remember
Our group was very small and made for a fun flexible experience. The guides ( we had two due to scheduling) were both fantastic — very different styles and that made it interesting.
Only complaint was one hotel/inn had a leaky toilet and shower — water on the floor and a very musty smell. It was just one night — I survived 😎 no big deal.
Overall, if you love challenging hiking, changeable weather, stunning scenery, volcanoes, forests, and sea coast, I would highly recommend this trip.
Also the support team in the UK are fabulous! Friendly, responsive and helpful.

I joined the Undiscovered Oman: People and Landscapes tour as a solo female traveller, and would recommend Oman as a travel destination. YellowWood was very responsive to any queries I had and organized a tour that covers major points of interest you would be interested in seeing. Our tour guide Riad has some serious travel credentials and culinary skills - he was absolutely wonderful and knowledgeable. Our drivers were highly skilled, helpful, and delightful to be around. This was a very active tour in that we were always on the move, hiking (moderate difficulty) and swimming. The landscapes and structures we saw (e.g., mosques, fort) were gorgeous and the accommodations in Nizwa and Misfat Al Abryeen were particularly stunning.

It was a great tour with very varied landscapes. Highlights were seeing sunrise above the mist in the desert and snorkeling with turtles. We also spent time in Muscat and the mountains, staying in a lush oasis. Would definitely recommend it. The guide Riad and the drivers were excellent.

Beautiful Oman.
Thank you YellowWood for such a fabulous and interesting trip. Swimming in Wadis, camping under the stars in the desert, the beautiful city of Nizwa, the charming traditional village of Misfah, snorkelling in the Gulf of Oman with turtles.. and a massive thank you to Riad, our guide - who was a terrific source of information and a jolly good cook! Our drivers who were such fun and amazing! And my fellow travellers were great too! We had fun. Definitely recommended!

I joined a wonderful group of people on a fantastic trip through Oman. Our guide and drivers were so informative and fun to travel with. This is my second trip with YellowWood. They are a very helpful and friendly team who take you through every step of the way. They have such a wide variety of well thought out journeys. I definitely plan to go on another one of their trips!

The trip covered a huge variety of aspects of Oman. We stayed in authentic, varied accommodation, including 2 nights of desert camping. Our guide was well-informed and worked tirelessly to accommodate and look after our group, supported by our excellent tour drivers. My highlight was snorkelling with turtles and other amazing sea life. Loved it!

Thank you to Yellowwood Adventures for putting together a trip to Ethiopia, a country I have always felt drawn to.
The sights, smells and sounds of this amazing city will stay with me forever thanks to my wonderful guide Abiy whose knowledge, support and humour gave me such a real and special close up of Ethiopian culture. Food, music, history, tradition and celebration all fuse together in special memories forever. Blessings to you all 🙏

Travelled to Patagonia with YellowWood and UK guide, Caroline McCann. Excellent trip with many and varied activities from hiking, rafting, visiting an estancia & meeting local people, seeing penguins in the wild, and travelling from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, via El Chalten & El Calafate, and with a day in Chile. As always, it's the guide that makes the trip, and Caroline ensured that the trip was a roaring success. Will certainly travel with Caroline again.

Everything ran smoothly. The activities were so much fun. The people doing the activities were very good at it. The food was great. The hotels were exceptional. YellowWood Adventures did a great job setting this holiday up for us. A great holiday. Thanks YellowWood!!!

Excellent and experienced ex-pat guide on the trip who fitted in brilliantly with the group and interfaced very well with local agents and guides.
Accommodation was mostly very good.
The itinerary was as promised, except where weather dictated modification due to safety concerns. Safety and well being of the party was top priority.
A huge variety of experiences were packed into the time: mountain treks, wildlife excursions, visits to estancias, river canoeing, glacier experiences etc. I got to see in person Fitzroy and Cerro Torre peaks, and the Three Towers of Paine...a goal for many years.

Great guides. All the guides we had were enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable. Our mountain guide Mikki was exceptional. The walking involved some steep climbs, sometimes up uneven steps, but the views and the temples we visited were well worth the effort (we recommend you take walking sticks). The food was almost too beautiful to eat - but full of flavours when we did :0) The hotels were well positioned and universally good. Overall a fabulous trip if you want to see the Japanese countryside and not just the big cities.

Bhutan is a must-see country. We chose to go with Yellowwood Adventures as we enjoyed our off the beaten track trip to Slovenia with Yellowwood a few years ago. Information was always forthcoming in response to our emails in the build-up to the trip.
Our Bhutanese guide and driver were very genuine and an integral part of our team. No question too small. Always happy to answer or find the answer to our questions about their culture, flora and fauna and the reality of life in their beautiful country.
We were lucky to have Sam, the founder of Yellowwood Adventures on our trip. He conveyed his passion for travel and constantly seeks ways to make the adventures even better.
The packing list guide was spot on and a warm down jacket essential (and they pack down so small), as though the days were warm, the evenings at altitude can get surprisingly cool.
And what a privilege - we met the local Bhutanese travel operator that Yellowwood partners with. They have a passion to share their country with visitors in a sustainable way. We learned even more about Bhutan’s place in the region and the relationship with its neighbours.
Thank you again Yellowwood Adventures for a memorable experience.
We are already plotting our return at a different time of year to experience more of Bhutan.

What a fabulous experience with Yellowwood Adventures in Bhutan - one of the best operators I have had the privilege to travel with. From start to finish it has been exceptional - great organisation, detail and help when needed before the trip and 1st class service once on the ground. High quality guides, itinerary, hotels and transport - I really valued and enjoyed every day as it was all so well planned and thus resulted in one of the most memorable holidays I have had the good fortune to take. Thank you so much to all involved

The most stunning mountain ranges in the world, the vast cultural history of some of the greatest empires in history, but mostly the warm, friendly, welcoming hospitality of everyone we met made this a truly wonderful experience. Everyone we spoke with asked us to invite our friends to come see their beautiful country.
The opportunity to do some hiking was especially appreciated and our guide and driver were great.
I know safety is often brought up as a concern. We felt totally safe the entire time, so don’t let that stop you from a fantastic adventure.

Canary island hiking tour done.
Pros: interesting hikes/itinerary, local company subcontracted by yellow wood (natour) was professional and responsive. Guides sub contracted were kind and knowledgeable. Beautiful hikes and scenery, hospitable Canarians, yellow wood responsive and helpful during booking process to answer all questions and flag flight issues.
Cons: was hoping for a taste of yellow wood offering and felt it was mainly work they subcontracted to local company - so didn’t get a strong taste of what makes this a yellow wood tour compared to other small group tours I’ve tried. Several communications lapses between Tenerife guide and local company on pickup times had us wake up earlier than needed and much ‘hurry up and wait’. Evening meals in Tenerife at hotel were not ideal. Accommodation in Tenerife was in small town (quaint and nice family but far from everything and long to/fro hiking sites and I’d rethink that). I would have appreciated a couple of rest days and skipping gomera to focus on Tenerife and la Palma. Didn’t feel the value for money given the high cost of this trip tbh. Maybe this is unique to newer canary tours (as they work out kinks) and other yellow wood tours offer better experience elsewhere.

I did the tour of Bhutan at festival season with YellowWood Adventures. It was a good tour, the local company and the guides were excellent. We visited 2 festivals or tshechus, one in Thimpu and one in Gangtey. Gangtey was more intimate, nicer, though I was struggling with the altitude.
YellowWood is a small company and they were OK, though they 'disappeared' for 5 days before the trip, not answering phone calls and emails. I started to get worried at that point as they are not ABTA... They apologised and were responsive after that.
The only bad point is their packing list. They list antibiotics as compulsory to take for tummy upset (GP would not prescribe it on the ‘if-it’) and they list thermals, warm jackets, etc. Neither was needed, some days the temperature was around 26 Celsius. Wasted lot of space in the luggage for these items that were not needed. A list that it mor targeted for the season would be better.
In terms of hotels, it was hit and miss. Some were really good, some were downright bad. Most were far from town and the program mainly finished around 4pm and you were stuck in the hotel.

YellowWood put a lot of care into the itinerary and featured activities that were different from the "norm" in Bhutan. They also showed such a high level of care and consideration for my personal circumstances (partially sighted) that I felt fully reassured every step of the way. Fully recommended.

YellowWood sells itself as being somewhat more adventurous than the average tour operator. Well my experience was not that. We toured Bhutan on what was the standard tourist route. We saw the same other groups at several locations. It felt a bit like a convoy. Although the guides were good the experience did not go close to similar trips to the region with Wendy Wu tours. An example being the day severe weather blocked our way for some hours. Other operators guides quickly arranged food and drink for their clients. Not ours. Hotels were booked very late and not all reflected the original itinerary. some being very poor. The explanation given to us was the good ones were fully booked as it is the busy time. I enjoyed the trip but would suggest there are better alternatives especially if booking direct with an outfit in Bhutan.

This was my second trip with YellowWood and I can't praise them enough. My first was to the World Nomad Games in 2024: the second started as a trip to Ethiopia but when conditions changed in the area we planed to visit, Sam contacted me to discuss options and we came up with a two centre trip to include Madagascar. All the arrangements were smooth, all the team - including the local partners - were responsive
and a joy to deal with and it really was a great success. And special praise to the way they handled unexpected events in Madagascar: an occupational hazard of taking the road less travelled is that sometimes plans have to change at the last minute and this happened to us. The local team were completely on top of it, anticipated work arounds and at all times we felt completely safe and in good hands.
I'll be back.
