I booked this trip super last minute, but my goodness, I am so glad I did.

I’d always wanted to travel to South Africa (and Namibia) but kept putting it off because I wasn’t sure of the safest or best way to travel around the country. Travelling solo is always a little nerve-racking, but from my very first enquiry, despite my endless questions, I was completely reassured that this was the right choice.

I had a phone call with Beetle to make sure I’d be a good fit with the rest of the group, and before I knew it, I was booking my flights!

The trip introduced me to an incredible mix of people from all over the world, who I’ll definitely stay in touch with and hopefully visit in the future. Living with people 24/7 can be intense, but with the constant excitement of new places and experiences, it just meant we bonded incredibly fast. We shared some really special memories that I hope will stay with us forever.

We saw so many amazing places and stayed in some really cool spots. Having the 4x4 meant we could truly experience the “middle of nowhere.” Everything you need for camping is provided, so there’s no stress about tents, sleeping bags, pillows, or equipment.

Experiencing nearly four days of heavy storms in the desert was incredibly special to me and something I’ll never forget.

The Xoom team genuinely made you feel at home with their family-style attitude. Chef Tom made sure food was constantly flowing and everyone was extremely well fed! And cheers to the rest of the team as well, the trip simply wouldn’t have been the same without the constant laughs and personal entertainment. JIP JIP

For some travelers, venturing to the depths of Africa may seem out of reach or daunting. Where exactly do you go? How do you plan safari deep in the bush? Where do we eat? How will I pack my camping gear? Whats the best way to mix adventure and relaxation? The list goes on!

Enter: Xoom Africa. From the moment I booked this trip, to even the days after returning home, every question I had was answered and every moment of doubt was put to ease. The crew behind Xoom are passionate, thoughtful, and a damn good time to hang out with! I trust these fellas with my life at this point!

The dream team - Beetle, Jimbo, Eduan, Tom, and Will - were the greatest guides turned friends. Whether it be a listening ear, tidbits about the Africa, roadside assistance, a delicious meal, a snap of those “OMG” moments- the guys were there. I couldn’t have imagined going somewhere so new without the Xoom crew and I’m already looking forward to visiting a new destination with them!!

It’s hard to put into words how special this trip was, as it covered EVERYTHING a traveler would want from a trip: Good food, wine country, views that make your jaw drop, adventure (kayaking, hiking up sand dunes, safari, and driving on dirt roads in the middle of nowhere), wild camping & gorgeous boutique lodging, and best of all-- the greatest company. There’s something about driving long distances, exploring the unknown, and camping under the stars with the rest of the group that you all will have to just experience for yourself! Trust that whatever it is you are looking for, Xoom Africa will deliver, and then some.

Thank you SO much to the team behind this epic journey, I will be reeling from this adventure for the foreseeable future!! If you’re thinking of booking, just do it— it’s the trip of a lifetime!

This trip through South Africa and Namibia with Xoom Africa was genuinely one of the most incredible experiences of my life. From the landscapes (actual jaw-dropping, surreal beauty) to the people I shared it with, everything exceeded anything I could’ve imagined.

We kayaked between countries, spotted amazing wildlife on safari, soaked in private hot tubs under the stars, laughed until our stomachs hurt, and made lifelong friends along the way. This was the trip of a lifetime, It had a bit of everything always keeping me well entertained and exploring. As a solo female traveller who’s usually on high alert it was nice to take a backseat and enjoy the ride when travelling through South Africa and Namibia. We were extremely looked after by the dashing daddies!

Everyday offered something different, from vineyards in South Africa, to thrill seeking bungee jumping to safaris and kayaking between SA and Namibia. We had it all!!

We were taken to the most gorgeous camp spots staying in top tents on our 4x4 trucks. For myself it took camping to the next level. And just when you thought it couldn’t get better the boys would take you to the most beautiful accommodation giving you a chance to properly relax in this jam packed holiday!

Even driving from place to place was entertaining, absolutely stunning scenery, on constant animal watch and radios to keep us connected between cars on the convo!

Thank you so much to the wonderful team that helped us explore South Africa and Namibia! I couldn’t thank you enough!

Xoom is my new yearly tradition...
I've never travelled on holiday in a group as a guest like this, but have been on the flip side operating many trips myself for work. WOW, we were so looked after!!! Everything was thought of to create our individually tailored holidays, from walkie talkies across the car convoy to keep us aware of traffic conditions, to adjusting the route & activity level depending on our energy and vibe. The route is well researched and you're in the most capable hands, with South African local Eduan leading the way, alongside the lovely British brothers Beetle & Jimbo who have also lived across SA and Namibia. All the crew guys really know their stuff and you can tell they care so much about your health & happiness. As a solo female traveller this is a fantastic way to explore both suburban & wild Africa whilst feeling out of danger, able to achieve lots of side quests along the route like sunrise hikes & runs and the *occasional* night of drinking by the camp. The guys really enabled all motivations for going on the trip, from a peaceful health retreat to an adrenaline fuelled booze cruise, it's really up to you to choose your pace and there's something to float your boat. They're also genuinely just a barrel of laughs, and I couldn't ask for anyone better to spend 6 hours a day in a car with. Shoutout to chef Tom for doing the most with the least, keeping us healthy with granola bowls on a morning and hot and tasty Braii grills at night, and also to Will for always capturing you at your worst but in the best locations I've ever encountered. GO ON THIS TRIP! Bring on Xoom 2026.

Where to even start.. the most incredible experience I have ever been on - this trip for sure i will be telling my grandchildren about one day!
From the get go we were briefed with all the info we needed and put our trust in the crew who did not disappoint!
Throughout the trip I felt safe, comfortable and well fed as well as having the bestest time of my life every second!
Every stop, views along the way, destination’s and insane scenery are just out of this world!
Sleeping in tents to the most scenic awakening views, optional activities like bunjee jump that has been on bucket list for years, trying new local foods and being with the most kindest, fun and hard working crew! (We are all ready for trip no.2 together)

I could write every highlight of the trip here and it would never end … and it still wouldn’t prepare you enough for how life changing this trip is- only one way to find out and book it because 100000% be the best decision you will make!
Thank you all ever so much for providing/creating this opportunity, I just want to relive it all already and can’t wait to see what’s next for Xoom .. can I pay a deposit now ?? cos I’m there !!

Wow, what an absolutely insane trip this was. And that’s coming from someone who’s been to over 50 countries — so trust me, I’ve seen a thing or two! But this one? Easily one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.

Beetle and his crew were total legends. They knew exactly where to take us, made us feel safe every step of the way, and somehow managed to organize everything so perfectly that we didn’t have to think about a single thing — except maybe how to look cool while the two professional videographers captured the most epic shots of the entire trip.

The itinerary was out of this world: visiting the wine farms, the safaris, driving in convoy, kayaking along the Namibia border, cruising through endless desert dunes, and jaw-dropping landscapes that honestly made me question whether I was still on planet Earth. Even the optional activities like bungee jumping and hot air ballooning over the Namibian desert—were perfectly picked and had such an incredible vibe.

We even had our own chef on board, who somehow managed to whip up delicious meals again and again — no matter where we were. From campsite dinners under the stars to quick roadside bites, he kept us very well fed.

I’ve lived in South Africa before and thought I knew what the country had to offer… well, turns out I didn’t. The Xoom team took us to spots far away from the tourist trail — the real hidden gems — and completely changed the way I see the region. I even managed to tick off multiple bucket list experiences I’d been dreaming about for years!

Now, full honesty: this trip was a bit out of my comfort zone at first — sleeping in tents, long drives, campsite facilities… you get the idea. But to my surprise, it was all super comfortable! Waking up surrounded by wild landscapes, ocean views, and the smell of nature (and coffee, thankfully) was pure magic. And those mattresses? Thick enough, so a total game changer.

All in all, I’d 100% recommend this trip to anyone who wants a real adventure with a team that knows their stuff and knows how to have fun. I’m ready for Botswana and Zimbabwe with you guys — please count me in!

Can't thank the guys enough for such a fabulous two weeks exploring South Africa and Namibia. You will travel by convoy across two insane countries. Prepare yourself for a ride of a lifetime with insane scenery, out of this world experiences and to top it off you will be laughing the whole way through!

An incredible way to see some of the best landscapes in the world. The team, vehicles and experience are simply exceptional. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

What Xoom Africa has created is absolutly incredible. Our roadtrip in a convoy of 7 4x4 vehicles through Southafrica and Namibia was filled with Safaris, good music and laughs, overnight kayaking, desert horse riding, campfires, sleeping underneath the Stars and in beautiful lodges.
Having this whole trip organized for you, with amazing food from your own private chef on this trip, was just absolutly amazing.
For me it was the best way to see a little part of Africa and got me inspired and excited to explore other countries of this Beautiful continent, hopefully with the next Xoom Africa trip.

If you’re looking for one trip to make it out of the group chat, choose this one. The team behind Xoom Africa is dedicated, professional and also amazing people. I guarantee you will have a trip of a lifetime and can’t recommend this enough. I don’t think there’s any other way I would like to experience African countries than this. From Tom’s amazing braais to Jimbo’s handy mechanic skills, Will’s creative video magic, Eduan’s unstoppable energy, and last but not least, Beetle the mastermind behind it all every moment feels perfectly crafted.

Sleeping under the stars in the middle of the desert, getting up close to wildlife, and sipping incredible cocktails in Cape Town every part of the journey is unforgettable. The chats, the drinks, the laughs, and the pure FUN make this an experience I’d recommend to anyone who loves real adventure and exploring off the grid.

This roadtrip was amazing! I’ve been looking for a trip that actually sets you up to drive across the country and experience the change in scenery versus hopping from city to city by plane.

The team set up a great experience that balanced “roughing it” camping and long car rides with boutique resort stays and amazon experiences - all topped off with good people, vibes and roadtrip snacks.

The safari’s, natural views, and physical activities were unparalleled. And yes, I did bungee jump - terrified out of my mind, but it was absolutely worth it!

It was truly a once in a lifetime trip.

Xoom Africa is hands down the best way to explore South Africa / Namibia. The crew members went above and beyond to give us the best experience and maximize our time in each location. I was not sure at first, as they are a new company, but now I feel like I am part of a big family and cannot wait to go back and explore with them in he years to come! If you can, you have to travel with Xoom Africa!

I joined the Namibia trip in May 2025 and it was an incredible adventure. The Xoom team made everyone feel at ease before throwing us all in the deep end, showing us what it is to really explore Africa. We got to see and experience parts of Namibia and SA that your average tourist doesn’t normally see.
This was an eye-opening trip and one hell of an adventure. It certainly whet my appetite for Africa and I can’t wait to use Xoom Africa again for future trips.
