Extremely disappointing: data loss and useless customer support
I lost months of work due to an XMind sync error with the web version (Safari), with no warning and no protection.
Everything looked normal while editing, but when I reopened the map, a huge part of my content had simply disappeared.
The worst part?
All my files were saved exclusively on XMind’s own cloud servers, yet they were unable to recover any previous version. The version history is limited, unreliable, and clearly not a real backup system.
I contacted customer support as a Premium user, and their response was completely useless:
they acknowledged the issue, said they were “working on a fix”, but admitted that there is no way to restore my lost data.
No real backups.
No warnings when using the web editor.
No responsibility taken.
No solution provided.
For a product marketed as a professional tool, this is absolutely unacceptable.
If you value your work or rely on mind maps for important projects, be extremely careful — a single flaw in their system can make you lose everything, and support will not help you at all.
