Thank you to everyone who put a warning…
Thank you to everyone who put a warning on Trustpilot. I was suspicious because there is a discrepancy between the advert on youtube and the website and so I started looking for reviews on Trustpilot. As always, Trustpilot is the go to place to discover issues as well as to find highly products. I'll be avoiding this particular product and continue looking for a genuine, high performing drone.
Thank you to all who posted warnings
Thank you to all who posted warnings. The site looked sketchy and the offer, too good to be true. I clicked on their affiliate program and it brought up another company's site which looked equally sketchy. The drone they had on offer on the affiliate program website was not even the XDronehd, it was the Blade 360 drone and the link to that site was broken. Your warning saved me from wasting money and time and I'm sure you have helped countless others as well. Thank you and as always, if it looks too good to be true, it is too good to be true.
To all those who actually did buy and…
To all those who actually did buy and got ripped off:
1) if something is too good to be true - it is
2) if you make an online purchase and it does not ask for any of your details, except payment - well think about it... They don't know your name, email or postal address, how would they deliver the product (yes make those rusty gears in your heads spin a bit)... it is sad that scammers like this exist, but they only exist because a potential victim exists. And if you do not use your head online, you are a potential victim, if not for this scam then for millions of others out there...
For the end here are a few things to watch out for:
1) if the website does not have a secure HTTPS connection (padlock icon)... DO NOT BUY
2) if the website does not have a proper full checkout process... DO NOT BUY
3) if they are selling something that looks like an amazing deal... NO NOT RUSH TO BUY, FIRST CHECK THEM OUT:
a) look for legal disclaimer and company details. check the company is legit in the company registrar
b) always google the product name/company name/website with adding review/scam like "x drone hd scam"
4) If all looks fine, but the brand is not known to you or something looks suspicious, do not use your credit card or paypal to buy, use disposable virtual cards. That way none can get access to your real accounts and you are only risking the amount of money you actually pay for the item.
5) On and last tip: if some site which is not known to you says: you won, you were chosen, limited offer for x, it is ~90% a scam. Clear you cookies, refresh the site, did the countdown reset to what it was when you just came - guess what, it is a scam?
Thanks for these reviews
Thanks for these reviews, you’ve saved me £79.00 but more importantly the annoyance factor of being ripped off.
I am just after buying this online
I am just after buying this online. It came up on screen that there was an issue with payment but when I checked my bank acc the money had come out. I tried every available method of contacting the company but to no avail.
When I enquired with my bank they said my account had been almost emptied.
I had to cancel my card and I got my money back apart from the €250 I spent on the product.
I have to wait 15 days to give xdronehd an opportunity to fulfil the order before I'm allowed to claim that money back.
AN ABSOLUTE SCAM! I will always read reviews in future before a purchase online.
Thank you for all your contributions
To all who posted about this rip-off I give my heartfelt gratitude . I was a bit worried about their claims and no info about what was in the box. So I checked here and so you all saved me £80 and I give YOU 5 stars
SCAM - DO NOT BUY
I can't rate the drone or any experience as it did not arrive.
Have disputed with my card company as this is a complete scam
DO NOT BUY THIS DRONE - and don't use Maxdeals to purchase anything who I believe is the agent based in Malta
I can't say that I can rate the drone…
I can't say that I can rate the drone at all because it never arrived.
I've repeatedly contacted the Chinese company that is supposed to ship the drone.
I received some made-up story about how they are overwhelmed with orders, but no delivery date given after 3 weeks. All my other emails have gone unanswered.
I'll be contacting PayPal asap.
Different founder names
Interesting to note that in Brazil the founder "Artur Bell" is named "Lucas Maltauro", which is a clear sign that this is a huge scam.
This is a complete scam.
This product looks ok, but the battery life is poor. The manual is horrible, there are no instructions on how to use any features other than manual flight. I wonder if it even has those features.
I clicked the link on their website to contact them and the link is incorrect (an accident or done on purpose?).
Just a horrid experience.
Fake XDRONEHD Company
Fake, fake, fake, fake. They are even stupid enough to use Mavic footage in their ads on Facebook and their own 'website.
SCAM...
A real scam, the ads videos you can see about this company is a total lie
It's a scam....
It's a scam..... I get so many ads for this company's drones.
they are marking up cheap toy drones 3 to 10 times the price presenting them as their own high-end products.
If you try click the contact or facebook links on their website it doesn't even work!!!!!!
It's a scam
It's a scam. I just saw a 2 minute youtube ad saying that's cheap because they don't spend a penny on advertising and rely solely on word-of-mouth. As in the whole "Authur Bell" story wasn't already dodgy enough, the fact that they're trying to claim they don't advertise during a literal advertisement is all you need to know.
The drone is really a cheap $60 unbranded Eachine E58 from China.
I bought one and when it arrived, it arrived from China and was literally a re-branded Eachine e85 that sells for around $60 from Banggood and Ebay. The drone is nothing like what this company is advertising & hyping, it is a scam!!! Do Not Buy. I paid for it through PayPal and filed a dispute with PayPal as soon as I realized I'd been duped, I got all my money back within a few days. This scam is operating under several different names with very simple websites, all pushing a cheap unbranded e58 drone as if it was a high end drone for twice the money. Look up the Eachine E58 drone, you'll see it's the same drone.
FAKE
FAKE. Dont buy it. Its a Mavic in the video, you pay for nothing.
SCAM
SCAM - had to cancel my credit card immediately. No drone just Fake News!
This is a scam
This is a scam. The slick advert tells us of 'Artur Bell' who worked for a big drone manufacturer (DJI pictures and logos everywhere) has invented an amazing high tech drone available for a fraction of the cost of regular drones. He doesn't exist and his story is fake.
They report to have developed brushless motors with 60% more power than the competition, which is funny because if you are unlucky enough to order one of these you will discover they use extremely cheap brushed motors.
It's a cheap chinese no name drone and this scam has played out before with different drone names- don't fall for it. You can buy the same drone for a fraction of the price on wish, Bangood et al and be equally as disappointed, just a little better off.
Looks like the Blade720 scam got a bit hot…
Looks like the Blade720 scam got a bit hot, so XDroneHd.com has been registered, and advertised through google and youtube to get your money just before Christmas. The XDroneHD is just another £159.98 (sorry £79.99 it's on offer!) copy of the EACHINE E58 available on Amazon for £47.99. The XDroneHD site looks very professional, but somehow they have forgotten to put any kind of contact details on their site! They have of course not forgotten to put they links to buy the drone. So if you do go ahead, good luck with your over-price, can't return it purchase. You were warned.
