ZZQ Texas Craft Barbeque is hands-down AMAZING! From the very first bite, you can taste the rich smokiness from the seasoned wood they use to slow-cook their meats the true Texas way. This is real BBQ — not the oven-baked imitation some places try to pass off.

The sides are just as unforgettable: the dill potato salad is fresh and tangy, and the crunchy purple coleslaw with pineapple is so good I found myself saying, “more, please!”

And let’s talk about the star of the show: the brisket. Juicy, tender, smoky perfection — it’s the kind of BBQ that makes you close your eyes just to savor the flavor. The sausage is equally incredible, bursting with flavor in every bite.

On top of the amazing food, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The staff clearly love what they do — friendly faces, great service, and not a hint of attitude anywhere. That energy makes the whole experience even better.

We’ve already been twice and can’t wait to come back again soon. ZZQ doesn’t just serve BBQ — they serve a true taste of Texas with heart. Now THIS is BBQ done right!

On a recent drive back to Virginia Beach from D.C., I finally decided to stop at ZZQ BBQ after hearing so much buzz. I arrived around 3 PM, only to find they were completely out of meat—despite opening at 11 AM. That’s just four hours into the day.

According to the owner, they sell out every single day. But let’s be honest—this isn’t about overwhelming demand. It’s a marketing tactic. You intentionally prepare a limited amount of product to create the illusion of exclusivity, making people think they need to rush in before it's gone. I’m on to you.

Next time, I’ll stop at Buz & Ned’s instead—where they actually plan for the full day and serve their customers accordingly.
