Very disappointing visit to The Armoury York. We’ve been several times before & not had a problem. The assistant dressed as a gnome/elf/goblin? gave a rather strange rambling & incoherent history about a an item but that’s not a problem. Each to his own. He then strongly disagreed with our opinion although we were polite & respectful. His attitude was rude, unprofessional & quite bizarre. I’ve noticed a few similar posts & it appears that some staff require a basic education in manners & customer service. We didn’t buy anything this time.

Terrible service, my son purchased a sword for £169.99 to be delivered as was not available in store, was supposed to include a ring ( was never explained it was subject to stock or a special offer ) was told it was skillfully designed to be crafted and put together by the owner as a complete package, as he didn’t rate united cutlery products. Missing delivery so had to chase up which was sorted promptly but with a receipt for less than charged and also missing parts, made contact to no joy just have to take his word for the excuses with no care to customer experience. Won’t purchase again from here as too unreliable.

Another purchase today to bring my sword collection to 4. Great friendly assistance as always and made to feel like a valued returning customer!

I have now added a lovely replica 'Sting' to my LOTR collection. Thank you!

Very disappointing indeed. Terrible attitude. Terrible customer service . Really really awful. In response to your comment No one cussed anybody personally I was assured it would be here Friday then when I question where it is 4 days later you tell me it hadn't even been sent. Yes now I will cuss you because you are typical narcissistic gas lighting crazy people trying to blame others for YOUR own ineptitude. Morons.
Edit: Reading other reviews it is evident they have zero regard for their customers & rudeness is a very common theme running through their staff so none of this is surprising anymore. Absolute imbecility business wise. Don't forget to throw him a coin when you see him homeless begging on the street. The deluded self righteous colon.

Fantastic service and quick delivery. I bought an athame from the website and it is beautiful, really good quality, very well made, I am so pleased with it. The age check went really smooth as I'm a bit older I was unsure about buying an athame on-line but the process was easy. I will definitely buy from them again.

Phoned regarding an item. Explained that it was required quickly. I was told that they would do their best to get it to me early. It arrived within 3 days! Fantastic service!

We were having a couple days holiday we popped into the armoury ,purchased a few things as presents and also purchased few specialist

Moon Athame, took a while to arrive, however good customer service, quick response to messages.
The athame is really good value for money, made well, looks good, comfy to hold. It was well packaged and parceled when it arrived by courier.

After making a purchase in store for them to deliver it as it wasn't in the shop at the time.
This was August 26th
To this date I've still not heard from them or received my item that I paid for!

Terrible customer service!

This was without doubt the single worst experience I have had while trying to actually get the items I paid for in store sent to my address. Upon purchasing I was told delivery in three to five working days alas three weeks later still no sign. After several phone calls to the shop I was told the usual "I'll chase it up for you" and "it should be with you by the end of the week". I finally emailed were I was told the same until alas we don't have what you ordered in stock so pick something a little more expensive than the item I bought. I told them what I wanted as a replacement and all was good, that is until the items arrived and they had replaced the missing item with what they wanted and not what I asked for, I will not send it back because who knows when I'll get what I actually ordered. Be very careful when you order they have zero interest in actually resolving issues or customer care, their attitude is ignore it and it will go away not good.

I mean if what is classed as geeky is your thing and you love some katanas. This is your shop. The LOTR, marvel, anime, Viking and Dungeons & Dragons stuff there is amazing. Got chatting to the guy on the till who was absolutely lovely, literally had to be dragged out by friends or I could have chatted all day. Thanks for a wonderful shopping experience, love my mini Zenitsu sword. I will definitely be back and I'm sure my purse will be a lot lighter, haha.

Also if you do visit with children, there is a no touch policy on the bladed items for those under 18.

Very unpleasant shop assistant, I was going to buy a sword, but when I touched it in a rather unpleasant way he said not to, that it was a stupid idea to touch it. Obviously I left the store automatically. If this is your idea to sell, I don't think you'll make much money.

Originally ordered a bucket hilt broadsword but was not totally satisfied with the item .
An alternative was agreed and this was speedily dispatched and delivered
Item was better than I had expected.
Full marks to all at York Armoury for a great item and a great customer service resulting in a well deserved 5* rating.
Would recommend them to anyone looking for a period sword

Disgusting attitude towards customers and out right rude. We visited the shop today with the intention of purchasing two swords to add to our sword collection, to be called stupid for touching the sword I was interested in, was ridiculous. When I asked the guy to stop because I understood, he continued to ridicule me. I have been going to this shop since the 90s and will probably never visit them again after this experience. At least it saved me hundreds of pounds.

I ordered a Katana based off one from the walking dead, ordered it on the 3rd, came on the 7th so really postage times for what it is, amazing value (at the time it was £35) and build and quality is fantastic for the price, definitely will use again and highly recommend, I will note they don't like being bothered with time wasting emails or calls, they rather just get the job done send you your product and be done which I believe is good.

I ordered a Masonic Sword with Pentagon, firstly it was dumped at my door where anyone could have taken it. On opening it up, it had parts missing and appeared second hand! I emailed the company but no response and obviously not interested! I would not recommend them at all.

Great experience, very quick delivery, very easy to track the delivery also, came with a free gift aswell, plus a sword plaque which i wasn't expecting so all in good experience.

Ordered drinking horn and accessories. Arrived well within estimated time. Very nicely made and the accessories complement the horn beautifully. Will certainly be looking to order from them again in the future.

Ordered the robin hood sword and it was delivered very quickly. Will definitely be ordering more swords soon
