I can understand the criticism of these sheds, as they do have challenges in construction but this has to be balanced against the price and finished product. The instructions are useless and I w... See more

Great shed for the money
Great shed for the money. Built it on my own and no leaks. Just make sure your base is properly level and everything else will be much easier.

If anyone is thinking about buying a Trustmaster metal shed, think again. Do not go ahead & buy one. The company's Customer Care has been nil. The metal frames & panels are flimsy; construction is a nightmare unless you enjoy making intricate multi-piece meccano with thousands of small screws & difficult to follow instructions. Having purchased such a shed, the construction has to be completed but I hugely regret this purchase. & the time taken to build the shed has doubled the total cost. The quality of the shed is disappointing, to say the least. It is not worth the money & not worth the hassle of the whole delivery & construction process.
Like a sieve
easy enough to build, but leaks like a sieve.
you need to mastic around the edges inside the shed for any chance to stop water ingress as doing the outside edges wont help because the pre-drilled holes in the frame all the way around the base will let water in and even then it will still get in through the doors. the flimsy doors loosely sit in a channel on the inside of the shed and when water hits the doors in runs down them into the channel and then straight into the shed. so dont store anything in there you dont want to get damp or wet
Very Very Very poor shed
Absolutely crap 6x4 shed is 6x3.5 so small nothing lines up it so small not worth the money bloody waste of money will never buy another one poor quality poor instructions pretty much guessed how to put together Absolutely crap.
Missing screws
Missing screws, emailed to say said they would send some, which they didn’t.
Great shed let down by its building instructions
The shed itself is very sturdy when built, and looks good in the garden. It looks as though it will last, too. Delivery was very quick and I think the shed is good value for money. However, as many have said, it did take several pairs of hands several hours to put up. A great product badly let down by its build instructions which were woeful. If these were improved, I'm sure the reviews would improve, too. Yardmaster could also do with improving their website - ordering was easy, but I filled in numerous forms when I needed to contact them and it was difficult to get through (telephone in the end). I have given four stars for the excellent quality of the shed, and I hope my other comments will be taken on board.
Cheap but difficult assembly
I purchased the yard master 10x8 metal shed in addition to the plastic shed that I have from another company. In comparison the Yardmaster metal shed was much more complex and difficult to assemble given that I am an experienced DIYer and have undertaken such projects in the past.
The overall assembly instructions were very poor and it took three days to fully assemble the shed. The components were marked but the lack of instructions made it a challenge. In addition the holes in many cases were misaligned and some force or manual drilling was required.
It is recommended to assemble the roof while still on the ground and then lift it to place on top.
The thin metal sheets that’s are the walls get dented very easily. The height on the doors is below standard door height and average person will bump their head often when entering the shed.
There were some screws missing but Yardmaster customer service was good and able to send a bag of screws immediately.
Overall O will certainly not attempt assembling a Yardmaster Metal Shed again or recommend it.
Shocking customer service
Ok. First they're really difficult to assemble. I'm a tradesman and can assemble anything but these ain't easy. But time and patience will overcome that
I've recently been asked by a customer to assemble a yardmaster shed. It's pretty big, 8ft X 10ft.
Anyway it comes in two large boxes. Box one, which contains the roof and side panels, and box two which has the instructions, frame, doors, and screws/washers etc.
What to yardmaster delivered was two box twos.
Hey there things happen and it's no drama. It's an easy mistake to make.
However calling yardmaster is not easy. A rude woman who insisted theyve delivered the right boxes and who hung up on my customer
.
That's unacceptable
follow the instructions on…
follow the instructions on youtube, drawings come from the crypton factor.told delivery 4 weeks, came within a week,no parts missing,no drips at all, could be to do with the fact it hasnt rained yet,3 tips, box of screws, box of nuts, and a box of valium .have a nice day alun
WASTE OF MONEY, EFFORT AND TIME! DO NOT BUY! I bought a metal 10ft x 13ft metal…
I bought a metal 10ft x 13ft metal yardmaster shed in November 2020, delivered and paid extra for fitting by Yardmaster operatives. Duly fitted one month later. First complaint email sent 2 days after the fitting. Despite numerous emails to the firm bought from (Gardensite) who then passed to Yardmaster I am still left with a completely damp shed which has had a swimming pool effect floor since fitting onto the prepared concrete base. The fitters did not fit all the parts, namely the "hold down strips" and the roof screw covers (the omission of the strips I discovered after they had left) and the roof screw covers we were told would only take us half an hour to fit as they had to travel down to England after fitting the shed, but despite knowing this, Yardmaster refused to send the fitters out again to fit these essential parts - because we agreed to fit the roof screws ourselves. Yardmaster did send some extra parts out - not all as they had stated they would- and would not consider a monetary recompense. After paying £798.98 I am left with a shed which is unuseable, is constantly soaking inside and is not fit for the purpose of storage, due to the water penetration. I used 6 tubes of silicon (CP12 especially for pools, water features etc) to no avail. Yardmaster and now Gardensite do not answer emails. Please save yourself a lot of grief. DO NOT CONSIDER BUYING THIS SUBSTANDARD SHED AND DO NOT PAY EXTRA FOR "EXPERIENCED FITTERS". YOU WILL NOT GET ANY JOY FROM THIS PRODUCT. BUY ELSEWHERE AND DO NOT MAKE IT METAL - ESPECIALLY THE YARDMASTER LOW, LOW QUALITY KIT. We have bought a very expensive tea bag.
Not fit for Purpose.
I said, I'd take a chance and purchased a 10x8 yardmaster shed, even after reading all the bad reviews and put it up,last Friday 5th and Saturday 6th, March 2021.
I wish I could turn back time and never had bought the heap of junk.
Flimsy and most of all not water proof. Leaking from the roof, like a person taking a shower. Have used 6 tubes of silicone to try and stop the water coming in...and still going. I am a tradesman. The whole thing should be melted down to use as a doorstop.
Rubbish. Stay clear and trust the reviews. One unhappy customer.
Sorry I bought this shed
Sorry I bought this shed, fiddly to assemble holes not lining up had to redril, biggest mistake was not checking all parts present, there were 2 side panels missing, still waiting on them coming, until they come can't finish assembly, looks flimsy wish I had read all reviews before wasting my money
My Mate told me not to do it
Bought an 8x10 to the despair of my best friend who travelled in 2019 to help me construct it. We are both solid DIY-ers yetthe instructions had as going back and unscrewing panels and refitting them. Most panels had holes in the correct place but we had to make some new ones - My Mate kept on asking my why I hadn't bought a wooden one.... took us about 10 hours and we really struggled with the roof screws as the shed is too flimsy to rest on and our arms werent long enough to reach the final screws.... some time later we had it sorted. I was very proud of my large metal box until I came to lock the doors, I think a 6 year old with a spoon and a lump of playdough could break in..... then it rained, did it drip over all my nice belongings ? oh yes, did all my carboard boxes get soaked ? oh yes. And in summer does it drip like an Amazonian Rain forest - oh of course it does.
So
Does it keep my things secure ? NOPE
Does it get wet in winter ? Yes
Does it get wet in Summer ? Yes
Do I wish I'd bought a Wooden one - Yes
My friend has even said next time he'll buy me a wooden shed..... Sadly I'm stuck with a metal box that I pray will one day blow away..... My advice is , well you know what it is don't you.... save up and buy something you'll be proud to own...
Buy with confidence - a good quality product
Bought an 8 x 4 ft Yardmaster Store. Fiddly and time consuming to put together but a great result. These steel sheds are what they are but once together they do a great job. Every part fitted as it should and the finish was excellent. A good product, well made but needs handling carefully buy those putting it together.
Well done Yardmaster
Challenging but successful project
Completed a 10x12 Yardmaster metal shed and very happy with it. I read all reviews I could find - positive and negative. I prepared myself for the many pitfalls (chiefly the instructions, not the best and marrying up the tiny holes) and they are all in the worst reviews. I’m a retired office worker with time and patience on my side. I was frustrated at times - one step forwards and two back etc - and the roof assembly was challenging, but delighted I got there in the end. Great value for money at just over £500.
Very disappointed.
If i had read the reviews before i purchased the 10x13 metal shed from yard master i would never had bought it. The condensation is ridiculous, everything in my shed is ruined, soaking wet. The roof is dripping ever since i bought it. Now i am going to have to see can something be done with it to stop the water dripping from the roof. Very disappointed. So my advice do not purchase.
10x12 metal yardmaster shed is possibly…
10x12 metal yardmaster shed is possibly the worst thing I've ever purchased it leaks everywhere and yes it's put together correctly its just shocking not weather tight at all!!!
Roof leaks during rain, is not watertight and is prone to lots of condensation as well.
I have had my Yardmaster 10' x 10' shed for 4 years now, and it's been nothing but trouble.
The shed roof is NOT watertight by a long shot and lets water in every time it rains. Yardmaster were not helpful with their support.
On top of it already leaking, the metal roof is prone to frost and subsequently a lot of condensation which then drips onto everything.
If I could go back and not buy this shed I would do so - but I'm stuck with it and with no useful help from Yardmaster.
I am at the point now where I am going to have to (when it's dry enough weather) look to removing the roof and replacing it with something more suitable.
This has been a big waste of money, hassle and a right headache - and Yardmaster's so called warranty may as well not exist.
Good shed for the money, although fiddly to erect
Very happy with my 8 by 4 foot metal pent shed.
Yes its fiddly to put together, yes the instructions are poor, and yes, when you finish you have loads of screws and washers left over.
However, once its all screwed together and bolted to the ground, its sturdy and secure.
The sliding doors fit fine and run smoothly, I didnt have to drill 1 hole myself (they did just about line up, enough to get the screw in at an angle), and I cannot see how the roof would leak as there are no screws in it, its just flat panel sheets. Erected on old years day with the help on my 15 year old son, took about 8 hours in total. As its a metal shed, it does condensate on the inside, like all metal structures.
I laid a concrete pad to place this shed on, I think as long as the base is flat and level, and when you lay the metal base to build the shed on, make sure its 100% square, if you start and the base is not square, everything else will not line up.
Bought from Argos, half the price of a wooded shed, with no need to refelt or treat.
Only time will tell how long it actually lasts, but seems sturdy enough now
