I can understand the criticism of these sheds, as they do have challenges in construction but this has to be balanced against the price and finished product. The instructions are useless and I w... See more

Basic, hard to put together, but can last and pretty cheap
These are pretty cheap sheds but in my experience they last OK and are fine for keeping lowish value stuff dry. They are very tricky to put together - the company should be ashamed of its instructions - and you will need to put in a lot of work on the base (a significant extra cost unless you already have an area of hardstanding available) and on assembly. Our last one lasted about 25 years and it was the wooden base that went first - partly due to inadequate footings.
I would give a minus if I could
I would give a minus if I could. Really flimsy construction, impossible to put together. Don't waste your money, just wish I'd read the reviews before buying one.
Wrong shed delivered- no help
Wrong shed delivered. Box and instructions didn't state size of shed so unfortunately assembled prior to realising the wrong shed was delivered. Very poor response from customer service. Still waiting for a resolution.

very poor instructions very hard to build now the rain is very welcome in the shed
DO NOT BUY THIS SHED
DO NOT BUY THIS SHED. The quality is appalling and it is flimsy beyond belief. Nothing lines up and the instructions are beyond useless and incomprehensible. Takes hours of fiddly work and dealing with too short self tappers that strip if you blow on them is frustrating. If you are a saint then do buy one but be warned and listen to ordinary mortals who should know better.
Buy a wooden one last longer .
Tried to contact company about condensation on internal roof .shed always wet .waste of money no anser to my question.thinking of scrapping it and replacing with wood one.
Horrible shed
I bought a large 12x10’ as I needed a lot of storage space. I read all the info on it and it ticked all the boxes-was reinforced, robust, blah blah. Worst decision of my life. It took forever to set up and I had to pay 2 men for 2 days which went way over budget. The instructions were horrible-just incomprehensible pictures and unfortunately I didn’t realise there was a step by step video available which would probably have been very helpful. It is reinforced by gables but the walls are the flimsiest and cheapest metal available. For a small shed it may be more robust but as a large shed the protection is useless. A single kick will dent it and it’s so flimsy it’ll be easy enough for anyone at all to break into. It’s held together by hundred of tiny fiddly little screws which, unless it’s you’re own project, workmen probably won’t bother with. I’m trying to let ppl know that there are tons there(literally) to screw. I needed it to house a lot of important belongings and now I live in fear as it’s simply not safe. Unfortunately I purchased it as a seconds (only had a few scratches on it) from eBay so Yardmaster wouldn’t take it back. Customer services was helpful to a point and sent me a video but it was too late. Also for a shed that large I expected the doors tb on the wide side but only much later I realised they were on the narrow. The pictures on eBay didn’t tell you so I had to make a logical assumption. This means I had to change the whole layout in my garden. DONT buy this shed in large, you will surely regret it. It’s very unsafe and I worry a lot about when the autumn/winter winds come. My life was already full of anxieties and this has added to me sleepless nights-I’m not kidding.
From one very disillusioned and distressed buyer.
Yardmaster 8’ x 10’ metal shed
Constructed the metal shed by myself and just needed help placing the roof on top. I consider myself to be a competent DIYer and after reading the reviews left by others I can only advise those with little diy experience that you either don’t buy the shed or pay for a professional to erect it once purchased as this isn’t a basic diy project. The screws that were supplied for the roof are in my opinion cheap, useless and not long enough, therefore I purchased self tapping metal sheet roofing bolts from Toolstation for £9.99 and they have worked perfectly, they have a metal washer which wraps around a rubber seal to provide a water tight fit. The nylon washer supplier by yard master isn’t water tight at all which is why so many people have complained. For the price of the shed I think Yardmaster should provide more premium fittings. My shed has been placed on a concrete pad and as others have suggested it isn’t water tight, I tried standard exterior sealant at first but it had very little effect and have now used a marine grade outdoor sealant that has provided a perfect seal all the way around the base. One tip that I found useful was referring to the assembly video on YouTube, they made it look like a piece of cake to assemble which it isn’t but the video at least helps where the instructions aren’t clear
Galvanized shed 6'x10' (106 WGL)…
Bought a 6'x10' galvanized (106 WGL) shed from Yardmaster.
Due to reading reviews, employed two experienced shed builders to erect it.
All parts arrived, except instructions and sundries (nuts, screws washers and bolts) were for a larger shed (108 WGSL) causing some concern, but not much, as an excess of these items. Most of the problems with the shed described on Trustpilot (misaligned holes etc) seem to be because the instructions (I printed out the correct ones from the website) are incomplete and not very useful (in fact awful, really worse than DIY Chinese furniture assembly instructions). EG to adjust the level of the sliding doors is a diagram without explanation of three arrows and three lines pointing towards 4 holes.
If, however, you watch the video of the construction most of the difficulties can be overcome.
The final erected shed is however stable, if a little flimsy. And it is very inexpensive!
Three extra tips 1. Attaching shelves inside metal shed is very difficult. 2.You will probably need to seal the base of the shed to the concrete base with guttering sealant (or similar) to stop the ingress of water during heavy rain. 3. A lady called Emma at Yardmaster, when phoned, will help promptly with difficulties in a really pleasant way. She was the reason this review was 4* and not 3*.
Deserves zero stars
If i could give zero star rating i would. Absolutely awful shed, quality is shocking very cheap feeling material, the screw holes don't line up. When contacting yardmaster to report this problem they really didn't want to know and refused to pick up and give a refund even thou it was faulty. I would stay away from these products and company at all costs.
Absolute pile of junk
Absolute pile of junk, bought two and am sending one back, customer service is awful, can’t get to speak to managers.
Buy theirs junk at your peril, it takes 3 days to assemble and pisses water in at every joint, nothing fits correctly and the security of the doors is a joke, crappy thin metal that will rip your hands to shreds combined with no proper hole alignment. Instructions completely useless and if you farted next to it it would fall down. Hopefully I have demonstrated why not to buy anything of these useless people as try sending it back which is even more time consuming and useless that building the crap in the first place. A very well done though to yardmaster who have managed to fabricate the most useless pile of crap I have come across in 64 yrs
Poor quality product and service. Don't bother.
The quality of the materials is flimsy, came with dents in places, many of the pre-drilled holes don't line up properly and even brute force won't work. So you're essentially forced into building a flawed shed or making work-arounds. To cap it off the written instructions are poor leading to more than a few points of frustration. The customer services team has been abysmal - still ongoing with no acknowledgment nearly a month on.
If a small business charged similar…
If a small business charged similar money for this rubbish they would be reported to trading standards for being cowboys. Ended up with 16 extra bits at over 1600mm long. No mention of these bits in the instructions. Half the holes don't even line up. The pre drilled holes for fixings are mostly to big, meaning you get a unsecured fixing with the screws. Some of these holes where even double drilled which made this problem even worse. Have put up a sign asking g people not fart near this shed just incase it blows over!
Terrible purchase
Terrible purchase. Parts missing, screws do not fit and all around very bad experience. Would avoid at all costs.
Delivered to the wrong house!
I haven't even put it up yet, but feeling very disheartened by the reviews; I wish I had read them first. Tried to coordinate delivery with Yardmaster, I got the impression they didn't give a toss - then someone came to tell us that it was in their front garden down the road! I had no notification at all that it was on its way, unbelievable these days. Yardmaster, get some customer service staff who do their job properly, the ones you have don't give a toss.
Scouts never give up when it comes to building sheds!
A group of 6 people assembled the 10x13 apex roof shed today.....took 6 hours. Online video made it look very easy but it wasn't quite as straightforward as the two guys in the video made it look. I had watched the video through twice beforehand and made notes, but everything was more complicated on the printed instructions. These were confusing at times and we basically abandoned them and used our common sense and logic. Constructing the roof was the hardest part with many of the holes not lining up. Electric screwdriver was essential. Lifting the roof on took 4 of us and again, frustrating because many holes to secure the roof in place did not match up. Anyway we did our best, we have bags of fixings left that we couldn't work out how to use. The doors seem secure and they slide easily. Brute force was needed at times....but hey, we made it!
Recently purchased a 10x10 shed from…
Recently purchased a 10x10 shed from yardmaster.... Having read other reviews I was a little apprehensive, this was compounded upon opening the boxes, however, after studying the instructions it was actually rather easy and in fairness the only help I needed was to lift the fully assembled roof into position! I'm guessing the ones struggling with these sheds struggle in general with DIY/ building tasks and likely shouldn't touch a screwdriver at all so let me say it again.... I assembled the majority of this 10x10 she's on my own!
It DOES require some tool experience and patients but is entirely do-able. Only issue I faced two components missing and the metal is very Sharp! Only Time will tell the products overall quality.
Do not buy yardmaster
Do not buy Yardmaster. Absolute pile of junk. I don't understand the clowns who think it's ok that the holes don't line-up. It's not supposed to be a DIYer's length measuring contest. It's supposed to go up like it says on the box. Instructions are rubbish, the online video is completely useless as it does not go into any detail or explain why holes don't line-up up!! Plus it contradicts the written instructions. The material quality is poor flimsy nonsense. I am massively infuriated that I've wasted 3 days on this pile of junk that just ends up leaking when it rains.
Terrible Instructions
My shed arrived in two boxes, so placed everything out in the right pieces then started to read the instructions. Omg was I confused. The instructions might as well be in a foreign language, nothing was clear, pictures contradicted themselves, I eventually rang yardmaster who advised me to check online and follow a video or send the shed back, so I proceeded to build it as I am quite handy at diy. The roof was a nightmare but after putting it together the base and walls were pretty easy, until it came to fitting the 2 panels either side of the doors. Everything was plumb but the sheet metal would not line up and actually overlapped.. it had not been cut correctly, so after measuring it up I had to cut 2mm off both panels. Also the shed entrance is very low which is not described on the website, I’m 5’6” and have to stoop to enter the shed…but is ok for my height when inside, not suitable for someone 6’ .After all the time wasting it took me overall 3 days so a little bit of advice… if you are not half decent at building things..Do not buy one of these sheds.
Stay away from Yardmaster
Stay away from Yardmaster!
We bought a Yardmaster metal shed 10x6 a few weeks ago and was finally delivered, just in time for the weekend. We were excited to start assembling it, however, as soon as the 3 boxes were opened we looked at each other and we knew this will be a massive challenge!
All the assembly components are labeled with numbers, to avoid picking the wrong item. On the other hand, the instruction booklet is a joke, poor pictures, very unclear how components match together, unlogical seequence.
We gave up once we realised that the holes are not matching and if you follow the assebly instructions it should be easy to put it together, however, NO, ASSEMBLY PARTS ARE NOT FITTING!
The most distressing fact is that Yardmaster Customers Services are useless, to interested to help. When i called them they sounded like it is my fault! 😡. The message I've received was loud & clear, "it's a DIY assembly product, so if you can't assemble it, bin it."
