First Class Service

I had 1st class service from this company and in particular from Gregg Roberts the Sales Manager who dealt with my enquiries and subsequent order. It took 48 hours from my initial enquiry to receiving my order. After I had difficulty sourcing a specific item of PPE and being let down by another company Gregg went above and beyond to make sure I wasn't going to be let down by his company. He is a great ambassador for Work and Wear Direct with his positive and friendly customer service. He has joined the 1% Club! Thanks also to the procurement team.

Absolute brilliant service

Absolute brilliant service, from start to finish.
I have used this company twice now, for embroidery on my own fabric.
The work is extremely neat and has the finest detail on the logo lettering.
Exactly as the artwork, excellent communication, always checking that i am happy with the layout/size/positioning/colour etc.
I would like to thank Gregg and all involved with my produces - exceptional!

Terrible customer service and lack of accountability

I recently ordered a jacket and a hoodie from this company with both front and back embroidery for my business. When the order arrived, the jacket had no back embroidery at all. Once I pointed this out via email, I received a reply from Craig (the Sales Director), who apologised for not informing me beforehand and explained that the embroidery couldn’t be done because of the jacket’s seams. He also mentioned they would refund or credit me £4.50 for the missing back embroidery.

The main reason I ordered the jacket was specifically for the back embroidery, so I asked for a full refund or a suitable replacement, as the jacket was effectively useless to me without it. I was then told this wasn’t their mistake and that the team “can’t possibly know every garment’s stitch pattern” — despite being the supplier and selling these garments every day. To make matters worse, the initial “solution” offered was for me to purchase another jacket and pay again, with the rear embroidery included for free — effectively asking me to spend more money to fix their oversight.

As a professional branding company, checking whether a garment can support a client’s logo placement is basic due diligence. If it’s not possible, that should be communicated before taking the order and the client’s money. It’s a bit like ordering a car with alloy wheels, only to be told after delivery that they don’t fit — and being asked to buy another car model to get what you originally ordered.

After several exchanges, Craig finally agreed to refund the jacket if I returned it, but added that they would “accept no further orders” from me. Obviously after this I wouldn't want to work with them anyways, but it says a lot about their attitude towards customer service and accountability.

In short:
-They confirmed the design could be done before production when it actually could not.
-They sent a product missing the key feature it was ordered for.
-They repeatedly refused to take responsibility and tried to shift blame onto the customer.
-Only after significant back and forth did they agree to refund.

Mistakes happen — that’s part of business. But professionalism is measured by how a company handles those mistakes. In this case, the defensiveness, lack of accountability, and poor communication were incredibly disappointing.

I had intended to place larger orders with this company in the future, but after this experience, I’ll obviously be taking my business elsewhere.
