Woolton Aerials

Ian has been to our house twice now. He is a truly honest guy and does the job very well at a very very fair price. We had TV issues on both occasions and he put them to rights very quickly. Keep up the god work Ian 👍📺

Brilliant - would use again without hesitation

Woolton Aerials got back in touch after our enquiry quickly, came round to give a quote the next day and by lunchtime the day after our 55 inch TV was wall-mounted. This was particularly impressive given our TV was brought with us from the USA and we didn't have a mount for it. Ian told us not to worry and picked up the parts for us. We were super pleased with the quality of work, speed of service and the very reasonable price. Ian is a lovely chap and we wouldn't hesitate to use the company again.

I had to have the downstairs and upstairs aerials renewed. Ian did a fantastic job at replacing these for me. The work was to the highest standard and very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend using Woolton Aerials

Another faultless install from Ian and the gang. We'd used them at our previous house and again, now, in our new home. Every bit of mess was cleared up and all was checked before they left. Cheers folks :-)

I was recommended Woolton Aerials by a friend. Ian came and gave me a quote for the work I needed doing, he came back at the agreed time and did a fantastic job my friend was right. Honest, reliable and very efficient too. He has priced up another job for me to be done end of August and I am more than happy with the price. Thanks Ian

An absolutely appalling business

An absolutely appalling business. As a single mother just moved into a new build house I rang for advice about the process of installing an aerial in the loft and can this be done independently. Ian replied in a very aggressive manner ‘if you have someone else to fit it ask them, why are you asking me?’ I was so shocked and disgusted at the way I was spoken. I sent an email only to receive one back from Ian to say he was shocked that I asked for advice as they don’t give ‘free’ advice they have to make money!! Still in the process of sorting this complaint. Would not recommend from first impressions.

Hi Jenny,
You asked for some advice on how to go about the process of installing an aerial and also stated that you had someone else to fit the aerial. To which I replied in a surprised tone “why don’t you ask the fella that you have to fit it, we do not offer free advice” You said that I was talking in a “very aggressive way” Copied and pasted from your first email: “He replied with a very Passive aggressive tone ‘why don’t you ask the person you have got fitting it, why are you asking me!!!“

As I tried to explain to you that we do not offer free advice you put the phone down as you were clearly not happy as you were not going to get the information that you required. You put the phone down abruptly leaving no further chance for me to explain.

So which is it ‘passive aggressive’ or ‘very aggressive?

You are going out of your way to damage our very good reputation because you didn’t get the knowledge that we have trained hard for, you wanted it for free to enable you to get your aerial fitted by another person, you only mentioned the possibility of us giving a price to carry out the work in your first email of complaint on Saturday.

You wouldn’t buy hair dye and expect a hairdresser to tell you how to apply it on the phone or a mechanic to tell you how to change your brake pads, you will get the same astonished response.

I spent over 30 minutes for free on Sunday helping an elderly gentleman how to reset his noisy alarm panel because I couldn’t physically attend, he was happy and very thankful, this is what we do for our customers.

As far as we are concerned this complaint is dealt with, I am the owner and I’m quite disappointed that you have carried out your threat to discredit us falsely because you had a tantrum.

I can post all emails and responses on here and let customers/reviewers make their own minds up?

Any further emails will be ignored as you are not one of our existing customers and we do not wish to carry out any work for you in the future.

Kind regards
Ian (Owner Woolton Aerials)

I used Woolton Aerials to upgrade my satellite connectivity and install two Freesat boxes on Thursday 31st January, 2019. From the first point of contact Ian and his colleague were prompt, professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. Despite horrendous weather the guys completed the work quickly, tested and demonstrated the equipment and cleared away any debris after them. I'd recommend without hesitation!

“We’re not a charity “...

“We’re not a charity “.... Ian’s parting words to my sister (woolton aerials boss) when she refused to part with any extra money . He’d come back to finish a job he’d already been paid for. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.... my advice - always get a written quotation and always get a receipt. She had neither so no comeback and no guarantees for work undertaken . His overall attitude totally unprofessional and quite aggressive when questioned which as a single woman my sister found quite intimidating.
End of the day unfortunately, you get what you pay for . 😥 she woudl've rather him quote more and do a proper job completed 100% than do a cowboy job promising to come come back to finish the job then demand more money . Very unprofessional way to work . Nice website but totally contradictory to the service I’ve received .

Hi Mr Williams,

On May 10th 2018 we arrived at the address and quoted £85 (£40 profit) to remove unsightly cables and a failing indoor amplifier from behind a tv set and place the numerous cables outside neatly into an outdoor amplifier and splitter. The last remaining cable was under a wooden laminate floor and we agreed that this would have to be done at a later date when the flooring had been removed. We did not quote for this at the time as it was an unknown quantity. Our quotation of £85 was £515 cheaper than a written quotation shown to us by your sister for works that was unnecessary by another out of town company. (I sincerely hope you have reviewed them for this attempted daylight robbery). We quoted this job cheaper than usual because your sister had told us she was on her own and worried about the cost.

We attended today to look at and re-route of the outstanding cable, I quoted £25 (normally £45) to your sister unfortunately she was under the assumption that we would be performing this service free of charge, to this I explained that it was a second visit which had not been priced, she wasn't happy and became quite animated, I did in fact state that we are not a charity and are a business and required payment for work (this is how businesses survive) and due to her reaction we left the house immediately. Your sister came out the house to our vans and we had the same conversation over again, the result of which I offered to come in and reluctantly fix the cable free of charge but your sister declined. No intimidation by us and always polite.

As to your claim there is no guarantee this in untrue, the work we have undertaken to the existing aerial system is guaranteed for 1 year but this is limited to the work and materials and not the existing aerial and cables, you are right we did promise to come back and we did this on time 9:00am this morning as arranged with your sister. We fulfilled our appointment however I am quite disappointed that you sister sought to get you to write this review as she has assumed wrongly that we would do this for free, it was never suggested to her that this was the case.

If you require any more information do not hesitate to phone or email us.

Best regards
Ian
