Worst Insurance Company

I shipped my antique furniture from the US (NYC) to Budapest, Hungary. I took out the moving company's general insurance plus individually insured a few more valuable pieces. Needless to say quite a few items were damaged and or destroyed. The shipper and I provided detailed photos of the damage. First they wanted pictures of similar items and their value. I provided them with almost identical items that were being sold on line. Then they wanted repair estimates. I hired a company that repairs antiques, filled out the necessary forms. That still wasn't good enough. Now they are saying the company needs to specify what will be done to the furniture. From the pictures it seems obvious that they will, for instance, reattach broken legs on chairs, they will refinish the water damage caused by the trip, etc. I submitted my claim in April, these are all just delaying tactics. Mind you, I did not include everything that was damaged and my entire claim is for $9200! We are not talking about huge amounts of money to repair what was broken. In any event, whatever shipping company you hire, stay away from these crooks. I will now post this review on every site that I can find to warn others.
