Wix was so easy to setup our webpage. What I like most is the reporting it gives me easy to ready reports.
Wix has made managing my website incredibly simple and efficient. The platform is user-friendly, professional, and gives me the flexibility to update my content with ease. I especially appreciate how intuitive the tools are, even without advanced technical knowledge. It has helped me maintain a polished online presence without unnecessary stress.
Wix took 700€ from my bank account after a year of closing down my website and cancelling subscription.

I've been a Wix customer for 3 years now and I've been battling with their platform ever since.
The online editor is very very buggy and very slow. The UI of our website also keeps breaking (even when we do not touch it!). I've had several back and forth with the support team who acknowledged that there was something off on their side and left me stranded with a production website completely broken + suggesting I might have to rebuild my sections as a consequence(!!!). We're HOURS of work to re-do some pretty basic things....
TL;DR: I've spent enough time on Wix (2 business websites) to now know that you cannot build a proper business website with this platform.
It is very expensive for a very poor and slow service. Had I known then, I would have built my websites on another platform. I am now looking to move my 2 websites off Wix which is a pretty painful process.
So, if you're looking to build a website, just do NOT do it on Wix. Thank me later.

Wix Support has now confirmed that the analytics inconsistency affecting my site is caused by conflicting BI event data sources within their platform infrastructure. I was informed the case was escalated to Development on April 21 and is currently under a 30-business-day SLA with a target date of June 7.
This issue directly affects my business because accurate analytics and AI visibility reporting are important for monitoring SEO performance, traffic trends, and overall site visibility. Business owners should not have to wait months for reliable reporting data, resolution timelines, and meaningful communication regarding a confirmed platform-side system issue.
While I appreciate finally receiving acknowledgment that the problem exists within Wix’s infrastructure, the length of time this has taken has been extremely disappointing. Based on this experience, I cannot currently recommend the platform and will likely not renew my services.

The worst platform you could chose. If you want your site bombarded with ads despite paying a premium service, you’re in the right place. No support from wix to resolve the issue with their security. I could not urge you more to stay clear of wix at all costs. These ads make our site unusable and has detrimental impact on business. So disappointed they won’t even refund so we can relocate the site.
Update - no message from wix received as they stated in their response here.
No confidence in their ability to provide support as experienced over and over again when presenting this issue to their team on multiple occasions. If they’re not robots imitating human responses, then I’m even more concerned about the disastrous level of incompetence.

I'm in disarray after my Wix experience. After many months building a website on Wix, bumping into several usage flaws and limitations, Wix's AI feature overwrote the entire website, even the company name. For weeks I was represented on my domain under an entirely different Wix AI generated company name. Frustrating, tedious, program very much in "beta"

I have been a Wix Premium customer since April 2022, on a yearly plan since May 2022. On 5 May 2026 Wix charged my card AU$504 for the next annual renewal, 19 days before the actual renewal date of 24 May 2026.
Two things make this problematic. First, Wix's own published support article on payment after cancellation states the renewal date is "14 days before the anniversary of the original purchase date." My anniversary is 24 May, so per Wix's own policy the renewal should have processed on 10 May, not 5 May. My previous two renewals in 2024 and 2025 both occurred on 10 May, exactly in line with that policy. The 2026 renewal broke that pattern by 5 days.
Second, the renewal included a 27% price increase from AU$396 to AU$504.
I contacted Wix chat within an hour of the charge and requested either a reversal or a switch to monthly billing. Both were refused. I then submitted Wix's Special Circumstances Refund Request, and was told this would take 45 business days (around 9 weeks) to receive a response. That timeframe exceeds the chargeback window with most card issuers, which appears to be the point.
The amount in dispute is small but the pattern, billing earlier than the merchant's own stated policy, increasing the price, then quoting a refund response window longer than the chargeback window, is the kind of conduct I'd expect Wix to want to address. Happy to update this review if Wix's Special Circumstances team can resolve it.
Australia.
Edit: 20/05/2026, I have provided the details to Wix as per their request, I will update again if they action this request.
Edit: 22/05/2026 Wix have reached out, they have said they will refund in time, will update this post with the outcome and if a refund is received update my rating as other than the above I had a positive experience with Wix

You go to Wix pay for a plan and go ahead to build a website. After you've built the website they say you should've built it with the editor option which is barely visible on their page, they're not showing so that later they can try to double charge you for the studio as well

Who actually came up with the outlandish rating that Wix is user-friendly and child's play??? It's practically impossible to create a website without a tutorial; there are too many levels, too many options. Sure, you can do a lot, but much of it is very hidden, and the terminology is sometimes unclear. I have no idea how people think it's intuitive. The AI, Aria, helps a little, especially with the basic steps. When it comes to design suggestions, I personally couldn't do anything with them because I had very clear ideas. I was appalled by the suggestions and asked them to be undone immediately. Better to do it yourself. Things get really difficult with Wix when there are technical problems. For example, I couldn't drag the cursor down on the mobile version of the page. Probably because the footer was stuck right there. I was directed to some menu that didn't exist, and Aria kept giving the same instruction: drag the cursor down. Haha. I didn't get anywhere with the chat either, presumably also AI-powered. Although I constantly need to expand my site, I've given up. Especially with many images in different formats, I constantly had to readjust the mobile version because the formats kept being standardized. Chap GTP, not Aria, then explained to me how I could adjust the images using the "fit" setting. Sorry, but as a semi-layman, you're really stuck. If you're an IT professional, it's certainly easier, but for someone like me, who "only" maintained websites with two different systems, it's sometimes too complicated. I'm not impressed with Wix, definitely not.

I signed up for a free trial, new to creating websites and wasn’t sure who to use. I wasn’t aware my domain would be locked for 60 days and now I’m stuck, and no trial! The templates are clunky, my site loads slow as snails, and their support team is more like a poorly functioning instruction manual. I can’t make members only content, not an option. But if it was I would have to create it all myself with an agent that makes me repeat myself through chat as many times as possible.

I never thought of Wix as an innovative company. I was very wrong. This platform has been incredibly easy to use (intuitive), robust in it's functionality, and very very flexible to fit in with your brand and business needs. Customer support has been helpful too. I like this way more than my prior experiences using Squarespace.
I tried to cancel my subscription with Wix two days before the money-back guarantee expired because I found out that the yearly renewal rate was over $500 per year. The price was showing $249 when I purchased it, and I didn't see the renewal price. It is extremely difficult to cancel this product, and when I went to cancel, I was blocked from canceling over a weekend, citing some sort of error with my request. I reached out to them after i PUT IN A REQUEST FOR A CALL BACK ON MONDAY AND THEY SAID I MISSED THE CUTOFF FOR A REFUNS AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO Ecalate my request for a refund. Days went by and when I requested another call, I was hung up on twice, than I i finally got through to someone, I was told it was denied. I went to my banking institution, @USAA, to get my refund. After weeks of the charge being overturned, I was recharged for the site and told that I couldn't appeal the charge. Then, Wix deactivated my account because I sought to get my money back from my bank, so they just stole my $250, and, no money, no site, no recourse. A bunch of connected crooks, stealing your hard-earned money, and the banks won't cross them because they are based overseas (look up where THEY ARE LOCATED and you will understand). READ THE TERMS OF SERVICE VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU SPEND YOUR MONEY ANYWHERE THESE DAYS, OR YOU WILL BE SURPRISED AT THE OUTCOME IF SOMETHING GOES DIFFERENTLY THAN YOU EXPECTED!

As a customer for over eight years, I'm disappointed. The fact that they processed a renewal for my domain and website without my authorization. They processed it over three weeks before cancellation. And when I saw it, I contacted them to tell them I was canceling it. But I was told I could not get a refund until a Review was done, and once the review is done. I may still not get a full refund. How can you charge me so far in advance? But make it so hard for me to get a refund when I didn't want it to be processed in the first place.
I received a reply from Julia, rep of Wix.com, for clarification. The problem is she didn't leave any way to contact her. If you want clarification, let's talk.

DON'T trust them! Suddenly introduced a sizeable fee on a feature that I've embedded in my company workflow, this means I have to choose between continuing to offer my clients payment plans and paying double my annual fee, or removing that functionality and upsetting my clients. At the same time, I'm having a recurring issue whereby Wix keep suspending my payouts of the money my clients have paid. They claim it's due to legislation and security, but no laws have changed, nor has my business name, or my bank account name or my tax status... They are not honest and transparent.

Mine is an unusual case. I run a small eco-lodge as a retirement project. I wanted a website to share info and photos with would-be guests. I did all the work in the website myself using a wixit template even though I had no prior training in Web design whatsoever. I love maintaining and updating the website. It is so user-friendly and fun to work on it. I've had many people complimenting me on the quality of the website too. My sincere thanks to wixit for providing this facility.
It was fine as a start up for our little home business but after we cancelled the subscription, took off all my payment details, got a new credit card, wix still renewed the subscription, on old cc details no less and took $750. I called to complain and they told me i had not cancelled the subscription(which i had). told me to log in(to an account that no longer existed) and delete my details. This had been done some months earlier, hence no longer able to log in and no domain name existed. BUT they still took the money. it took 3 mths for a refund!!! after they deducted the money without any authorisation.

Delivery was well within range. Products were high quality as advertised. I am satisfied with the purchase!
Long story short. Wix is garbage. Short story long: Wix markets itself as a user-friendly website platform, but my experience has been the complete opposite.
The interface feels bloated, generic, and designed more for mass-market templates than for building something truly professional or flexible. Most of the “beautiful” designs are just polished placeholders that quickly fall apart once you try to customize them seriously.
What really pushed me to leave this review, however, was their billing policy.
I forgot to cancel my subscription and contacted support only 1 day after renewal requesting a refund. Despite not using the service and reaching out immediately, they refused to help.
That kind of policy feels predatory. Companies confident in their product and focused on customer satisfaction usually try to retain goodwill — especially over an honest mistake made within 24 hours. Instead, the response felt robotic and transactional: “Got your money, too bad.”
Ironically, experiences like this are what make customers leave permanently.
Wix spends heavily on influencer marketing and social media promotion to appear modern and creator-friendly, but customer support and retention policies tell a very different story.
There are far better platforms out there that respect long-term customers instead of trying to squeeze every possible renewal payment out of them. I hope they go bankrupt. I hope they feel the burn of financial pressure, indefinitely and perpetually.
What is more rubbish is that Wix will reply to my review saying something very generic like asking me reach out to their support, but that is the point I already have and they did nothing about it, so what is the point of Wix writing this, trying to seem like they are on top of things....bull isht : Hello, Thank you for your feedback.
We’d love the opportunity to assist you directly. Please reach out to Wix Support through your account so our team can review your request and provide the help you need.
Best,
May
