the train conductor made a horrible joke about the most painful aspect of my body, putting me in uncontrollable tears. we had to leave the train and get an uber from the side of the freeway. this was supposed to be a magical birthday, and he ruined all my wife’s careful loving planning. strongly advise avoiding the wine train, unless your body is shaped to their approval.
Food was absolutely awful, we paid $1,200.00 ( 4 persons) for the Dome section. This was supposed be a special Bday for my daughter. The total didn’t include the $162.00 we paid for the wine pairing which I actually thought was included!
Please don’t waste your money, the wait staff was unprofessional, didn’t have a clue what the pairings were. When I pay this kind of money it sets a high expectation hence this was supposed to be a very special occasion. Entrees & deserts were awful.
We visit Napa frequently, we’ve loved all the restaurants we’ve ever been to. Honestly could of had a couple of exceptional meals at any other place in Napa for $1,350.00.
We did the wine train several years ago it was a completely different experience, it was amazing the food was exquisite! It’s not about the what we paid. They set certain expectations, and when you choose to spend your money for a certain experience then that’s what you should get!
