Wimex - Are they a Con Company or just Useless.

Order a wardrobe in the middle of December for £420, so not cheap. After payment I was informed in the corresponding receipt that there was a 12 week waiting list for the wardrobe to be built and shipped, so a bit miffed with that but decided that it was acceptable. After the 12 weeks had passed and no sign I emailed Wimex as to where the order was. The answer was NO REPLY! I then waited another three weeks (due to being on Holiday) and on return I emailed again and then rang the company but as before NO REPLY or ANSWER!. Thank god I payed with paypal and have since put a claim in and received a full refund from Paypal Not WIMEX. So in my opinion on no account should anyone trade with this company as it smacks of fraud. I just hope Paypal chase Wimex for the money it refunded me as I would hate for a company this shoddy or false to benefit financially.

Scam or terribly slow, who knows?

same as everyone else here, I was happy to wait 6 weeks for a chest of drawers since I liked the design so much and the dimensions were perfect for my room....but after 6 weeks and no word it looks like its all a scam.

I emailed their 'info' email address to ask for an update but no reply after 1 working day, I will be disputing the charge with my credit card provider tomorrow if no reply and promise of delivery- luckily it was all paid under a 0% interest for a year.

If you want to take a punt on them make sure to pay with a good credit card provider

Absolutely horrendous experience - poor customer service

Absolutely horrendous experience. After waiting 5 weeks for a wardrobe (paid full amount upfront and was told 4-6 weeks for delivery) I emailed the company asking if they had a more accurate delivery date as we were now in that window.
I got a response with a blatant lie that said they had tried to email and call (none of which I received) and that I needed to get in touch with them.
I called straight away and said you never tried to call, which the woman admitted they had a faulty calling system so it probably didnt' go through...
She proceeded to tell me they had made an error and the wardrobe we had ordered 5 weeks ago was no longer going to be ready so she would refund us our money.
So we had waited 5 weeks, and it was only when I chased the status of the order did they confirm we were never going to receive it.
The following email exchanges were extremly poor, offering up an alternative wardrobe, nothing like the one we ordered. I declined, asked about two other alternative wardrobes, to which they responsed no not available and assume you want a refund.
I had to chase again after waiting three working days for a response, asking what they were going to do, if they felt a refund was suitable for the wait i had and the fact I had to chase them, and all I received two days later was a generic template email stating I will have a refund, and "thank you for your trust as being our customer as we look forward to welcoming you again". Laugh worthy response. Unacceptable, horrendous customer service.
Now I will have to wait again for a further 4-6 weeks to get a wardrobe from somewhere else. Safe to say I will never use this company again (also on wayfair and dunelm) and will tell many others to never use them.

Awful, just AWFUL customer service

Having found some wardrobes which fitted our requirements perfectly, our overall experience on ordering was Absolutely Appalling. Do not use this company! The website fails to clearly explain (until you dig into the small print of the shipping information) that there is a supposed 4-6 week lead time on orders whilst the product is 'made to order'. Having placed and paid in full for our order, we received an email confirming receipt of the order and telling us that we would be contacted once our order was ready for shipping - again no mention of the '4-6' week lead time..... 10 weeks later with no communication from the company we establish that some of our order will be available in two more weeks.... 12 weeks since the order was placed and paid for in full... they could not tell us when the remainder of our order would be ready!! CLEARLY NOT MADE TO ORDER. The company had just short of £1000 for 10 weeks and still no product or interest on our refund. TOTALLY DISGRACEFUL way to conduct business - AVOID
Having placed this review on their Wimex.uk facebook page they promptly stopped accepting reviews...... clearly very keen on customer focus!!!
