Wickes - Cheltenham Reviews 

As per my last review ordered and vision of my bathroom seemed great. However! When the bathroom fitter came to review the bathroom etc, his quote was £1800 dearer than what wickes had estimated. There I was being charged nearly £4000 to fit and install my new bathroom which is 7x 7. I had expected the fitting estimate to change by about £400-500 but not £1800. Therefore because of lack of funds had to cancel the entire project. The experience working with Adam for the cancellation was excellent and he was very kind and apologetic. But I am absolutely gutted after saving and putting in so much effort to not now have enough money to go ahead. Please wickes send someone out first to price up before moving forward with plans. It has left me feeling really upset with the whole process and also feeling as if I was being ripped off!

Victoria was incredibly helpful in talking my paint options when redecorating. Alas when I returned to buy the paint the dulux mixing facilty was out of order.

I was greeted by a wonderful colleague called Tori that was able to help me find the right product I was look for. Incredible service and will definitely be coming back, hopefully Tori’s available next time

I’ve been using Wickes for several years now. I live minutes from a competitor but still drive from the other side of town to come here instead. This is due to the competent, friendly and helpful staff. I’ve always been greeted with positive energy and smiles.
Tori, Shaun and Shannon have always helped whenever I’ve needed it and I’ve always been given useful answers to questions straight away.
As a trader, this is one of my main suppliers and that won’t change for a long time.

The customer service served by a lady called Tori, she was helpful and I found everything I needed. Excellent stock and choice of items too. I didn't purchase today, was just planning. Will deffo return - deffo recommend

Great service as usual. The item was still in crate having just been delivered to store but Victoria ‘dug it out’ and phoned me to confirm it could be collected.

Great experience shopping in Wickes Cheltenham today! Shannon was very helpful in helping me to find the right products and advising on the best way to clean paint brushes. Mike was also awesome in helping load my car with the smokeless coal I'd brought. Thank you! Best place in Gloucestershire for all your DIY and home improvement needs.

nightmare from start to finish started 7/4/26 finish 9/9/26 The only good bit was the spiel We felt as if the staff were all trained to ignore the customer.

1 . The sink was put in the wrong way around.
2 . The hob was electric when we ordered Gas
3. The hob was not centralized over the oven
4. The oven was a conventional oven we had ordered a
Fan oven.
5. The delivery date was sprung upon us.
6 . we had to collect many items ourselves after paying
for delivery
7 . we were left with the oven plug having insulation
tape wrapped around the coloured wires as it was
not quite long enough.
8 . the extraction hood was left with wires joined with
snap connectors and long cables hanging in the air
above cupboards
9. The top and lower pelmets were bodged into place
and had to be replaced. the left pelmet was cut too
short so the right one was warped over to hide the
mistake leaving overhanging pelmets in the corners.
what should have been a mitre joint was not and was
held in place with a metal strap. How the fitter
thought he could get away with that I don't
understand. no attention to detail and rough sawn
edges,
10. We needed touch up paint to touch up our new
kitchen
11. Many of the screws on the pelmet were over
tightened digging into the wood leaving flaking
paint


we accepted £700 compensation just to end it all as it dragged on and on and we both had, had enough.
what should have been a lovely experience turned into a nightmare and us wishing we had never bothered.

I visited the Wickey store in Cheltenham today, September 30, 2026; they had a special offer on laminate flooring, dropping the price from £18.50/m² to £11.50/m²! I needed 24 packs, but since I was in my own car, I couldn't transport them all home at once. I initially bought 11 packs, telling the staff I would return in 20 minutes for the remaining 13. At first, they didn't want to apply the 10% discount I was entitled to based on previous purchases at the store! I bought the 11 packs and took them home, but when I returned for the other 13—surprise! The discount was gone, and the price had reverted to the original £18.50/m². An employee spoke to me very rudely, saying, "The offer ended today; come back tomorrow!" I had workers at home being paid for a full day's work! Staff: 0, Communication: 0, Customer Service: 0. I will never set foot in their store again, and I do not recommend visiting this Cheltenham location, where no one pays any attention to you! I will be filing complaints everywhere. My workers were at home waiting for the materials, yet I couldn't buy the rest at the same price I had paid for the first 11 packs just 20 minutes earlier! Avoid this company!

Terrible service . After 4 weeks from the first delivery we are still waiting for the rest of the bathroom to arrive - nett result being without a working bathroom for 4 weeks . The staff blame customer service and customer service do nothing ! Also today we’ve been given 3 incorrect tracking (or fake !) numbers for parcels that have never been dispatched despite promises. It’s just beyond belief . The bathroom consultant failed to order half the products we needed and it’s gone downhill from there . Will Never be walking into other wickes branch again after this poor service .

Dan in the Cheltenham store was really helpful in me selecting the right hardboard, taking it to my car to ensure it would fit and giving advice about returns and delivery, if that had been necessary. A real asset to your team.

This is my second bad review on the same problem. Faulty lawn mower, sent back well within the warranty timeline, now being charged by Genpower to fix a problem on the device that was non existent when I sent it.

Wickes responded to my initial complaint asking for additional details, then nothing...

Absolutely sick of that company and its customer service, will avoid at all cost in the future.

Curtis Tew was very helpful, from his visit to the house, plans made and appointment in the store. He was calm, knowledgeable and understood what I wanted from both the kitchen and bathroom. Did not feel rushed. Took his time. Could not recommend him enough

Ellie at the Cheltenham store was fantastic, she helped with our query and suggested a few good option. Good service with a smile too.
