Legal issues

The contract says, “The Company and the Freelancer have mutually agreed upon the payment amount for the project work, as stated in the initial agreement. Neither party shall charge, debit or request additional fees beyond the agreed-upon amount unless requested from the Department of Labor.” And I just wondered why the review star of this company on trust pilot is 2.8 with only 3 one star comments. Does that mean having to accept without reasons?

Unpaid Contracted Work – No Response

I want to share my experience with What Book Publications.
I completed a highly intensive project translating academic English to Arabic. The work was done under a tight schedule and required a lot of effort. After submission, 93% accuracy of my work was officially confirmed.

Despite multiple emails and formal notices, I have received no response or payment.

Does anyone know a way to contact this company?

What book publication Benson Dean Lier Fraud

I also signed a contract with this company to translate a 90-page book from English to Chinese. This guy called himself Benson Dean. He is a fraud. He said he will pay me $3800. And he said he is from California. I found he is actually not in USA at all. Then he just blocked me. We kept the converation in Teams. Lier, maybe Benson Dean is also his fake name. He is using this what book publication name to sign the contract with me. Do not share your personal information to this guy or company. They are unreal. Luckily I did not translate this whole thing for him.

Unpaid translation work – $3,840 never paid

I signed a contract with this company to translate a 90-page book from English to Spanish. After delivering the completed work, the payment was never made.
They kept creating problems with the payment process, suddenly claiming that I needed to register with the U.S. Department of Labor as a remote employee—something that was never mentioned before. At the last minute, just before payment, they also changed the agreed rights and conditions.
In the end, I was not paid at all. This company takes advantage of translators’ work and does not honor signed agreements. I strongly recommend that other freelancers be very cautious before working with them.
