West End Dental - Prestatyn Reviews 

I cannot recommend the practice at Prestatyn High Street enough. I hadn’t been to the dentist for years due to a really traumatic experience with one that is now shut down. I am a really anxious person, and my fear of the dentist is off the scale. However, from my very first consultation here, I was made to feel relaxed and at home with zero judgement from them. The welcome I receive from the receptionist every time I walk through the door is amazing and she remembers who you are every single time. The dentist who did my extraction, removed an abscess and stitched it up was outstanding. He made sure I was okay and comfortable all the way through and he did everything to perfection so much so that I never felt a thing the whole time. I’ve also seen the hygienist twice and she was just as kind and understanding as the rest of the team and again, no judgement from her whatsoever. My 25 years of fear of dentists is actually fading and I never thought it would. I thought I was a lost cause. I’m so glad I found this practice and for any anxious and off the scale nervous patients like me, you won’t regret going. The best service that you will ever get is right here!

This is a lovely modern practice in Prestatyn. Very clean with a wonderful dental hygiene team- Beau and colleagues. Reception staff are very friendly and professional. I have a dental plan as haven’t had NHS dentist access since being very young and I’m 61 soon! The practice fund to plant a tree for every hygiene appointment conducted which I think is a wonderful and helpful thing to do.

Dr Gowan was very respectful, helpful and very reassuring. I came away knowing that I could not have have been treated any better anywhere else.

Did I say 5*- oh I'm so sorry - I meant minus 5*. I made the my appointment regarding a single implant with the Prestatyn branch of West End Dental a few weeks ago .Honestly - it was one of the most eye opening and upleasant encounters Ive ever experienced.
The dentist in question - Mark Gibson - in my opinion - used out and out bullying and scare tactics on me from the start. His opening line was to inform me immediately that he was extremely concerned about the whole state of my mouth. Really????I go regularly to a very good dentist so this was news to me. Apparently the vast majority of my teeth teeth were on the verge of fracturing and falling out and he grew ever more animated as he pointed this out from the x ray he had taken!!!As for my one implant (the only thing I'd actually come about!) well that - he merrily informed would need 4 teeth out - and 2 implants put back holding a bridge of the other 2. Also that there were lots of areas of infection that would also need to be treated first (costs adding up!)Any questions from me were swiftly deflected and the atmosphere was getting quite tense as he could see I was not being shocked into submission.
Cannot even imagine what the effect would be like on someone who suffered from anxiety or who had a dental phobia - but you can get some idea from reading the very relevant 1* reviews hidden away at the bottom. They mirror my experience.
The bill for the proposed treatment was a mind boggling £10000- but not to worry they have convenient payment plans (at goodness knows what rate of interest) that they cannot wait to sign you up to when you are directed to another room.
I would never ever set foot in that practise again- especially as I now am having hopefully a single implant fitted for around £2500 somewhere else!

Dr Avon was kind, understanding and explained what she was doing through the whole procedure..I was having a root canal and restoration of my tooth to enable a crown to be fitted..I wholeheartedly recommend this dentist

West end dentist I a very professional organisation. All staff are very kind helpful and pleasant. I felt very confident with them and l am a very nervous patient. Will keep going there. The surroundings are modern clean and very pleasant. Can’t praise them enough
