Was good but once FANDANGO bought it I lost all access to my movies that I bought over the years. Attempts to work with customer service are pointless. They ask redundant questions and appear to not even have a solution for the issue. DO NOT USE. It is a bad service, look somewhere else
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Extremely frustrating misrepresentation of policy.
More cons than pros, unfortunately.
Pros:
- They have good sales.
- Fun to shop on.
- I loved building my library (I own hundreds of licenses).
- Easy to use on many devices.
- Good presentation.
- Rarely experienced errors.
- Some purchases come with bonus material like on the DVDs.
- It will stream on the setting that best fits the device used. It used to be that you had to purchase the resolution, now the licenses usually play the movie at the highest resolution your device can support, which is cool.
- I LOVE the “what parents need to know” section.
Cons:
- the internal workings of your access to your account are not consistent or reliable, they seem to be a mess. They will ask you for what message you get. I think they should already know, being the service.
- The service changed ownership and branding about three times since I started using it. It absorbed my UltraViolet licenses, then it became Walmart, then it became Fandango, and each time the prices went up which is bothersome.
- (and this is a big one for me) Can’t access your movies while traveling outside the USA. The service literally advertises “Movies ANYWHERE” but the policy is for US use only… so, false advertising. 40% of the reason I chose to purchase my movie licenses is to watch my movies during travel. Sitting on one’s couch isn’t the ONLY way to enjoy a movie or show, so it’s annoying to be that limited. So another reason it may not be for everyone.
- (another big one) If you have to use VPN for any reason (for me it’s for work), you will be locked out of your own service on some devices which I think is unacceptable. Both things are out of our control and conflict with each other, so the service may not be for someone who has to use VPN for whatever reason. So in an attempt to filter out savvy users they have inconvenienced everyone. I also don’t think it’s right to lock anyone out of a service they have purchases on.
- They don’t have a lot of in-movie watching options, as in you can’t change the language, the subtitles languages, etc… as comfortably as with a Blu-ray DVD.
- If you purchase something that turns out to be something questionable, even if you haven’t watched it halfway, they will not remove it or refund you. As in no-returns, ever. The horrible movie is there forever. They should figure out a return policy.
- Their customer service is pretty bad and inconsistent. One agent will ask you for two things for “security”to “verify” your identity, and another will ask for 6 things, including the last 4 digits of your credit card number. Go figure. Some agents are good, while other agents have an attitude even when you’re nice to them. They take your complaints about the service personally and may hang up on you or be testy. They’re usually nice, but some of them are not, and there is no way to rate them or save your conversation.

I have not been able to log in to my account since they were swallowed by fandango ! I have done everything they tell me and still my WiFi is blocked. Their customer service is awful, they just repeat the same old stuff and tell me they are working on it but you never hear back from them and when you contact them again they have no idea who you are . I have paid for 64 movies and can not watch any of them on my computer or tv. Going on 4 months . Been a customer for 3 years and now 500 dollars later I feel ripped off

If I could give a 0 I would. I have excellent screen shots of my conversation with a Vudu agent and how rude and unhelpful he was. I will be reviewing my interaction on as many sites as possible at this point as Vudu and Fandango could give a rats ass about “movies anywhere” dumb slogan when it is not true.
VUDU rip off no refund policy
I have a pretty decent collection of movies in the VUDU digital library. I mean I spent a bunch of money. But recently I made a mistake and purchased a single movie title, then realized there's a bundle of three movie titles with that one in it for a better price. So I got the bundle. I started to watch one of the movies. Next day I called the customer service and asked to refund the single movie I bought, and they refused to refund because I watched the movie.
Once content is accessed, no refund can be issued. Some horrible explanation for poor customer service and policy about ripping customers off. Very sad. Not buying or renting with them anymore. Never had a problem refunding anything with Amazon, digital movie wise.

Buffering at least 60% of time. Ads dont buffer at all. Im looking at a spinning wheel most of the time unless an ad comes on. Ive tried both firefox and chrome and tested my data rate at 50mbps. Customer service was an unhelpful chatbot which was clueless, so curious, i waited for a chat person for 40 min. and gave up. This service is absolutely worthless in my experience. I found a movie i wanted to watch so i tried Vudu again forgetting my last experience was the same but 8 or 9 months ago. I hope that i can remember to never log on again.

I honestly think they could be a little bit more understanding over single mothers who have kids who get remote happy and accidentally buy movies!!!! Even with the parental control on somehow it gets shut off!!! Pretty much calling me a bad mom because my son bought a movie last month and they seen that it was never watched just like the one that was purchased yesterday it was never watched and they still refused to give me my money back I understand if it was like a few dollars or something but this is a whole $21 that might not sound like much to a lot but to a single mom with two kids that's a lot!!!!! I've emailed I've tried to contact them and they do not care whatsoever!!!!!

I have a movie that when it comes to the last 20 minutes, I will lose the sound, and then the movie will completely stop playing. It has been a month and a half, and they still have not resolved the problem! Problem started on February 2, 2024!

I would like to be contacted by a representative of FANDANGO AT HOME (formerly VUDU) located in the United States of America, the reason I am requesting this is that the foreign company that you have contracted with to do customer service for FANDANGO AT HOME (formerly VUDU) customers is totally incompetent, and the customer service they provide is ridiculously bad! It’s not only a communication problem, It’s obvious they don’t give a damn about providing good customer service, all they do is give you the runaround in resolving problems. You can call numerous times on an issue you’re having with a FANDANGO AT HOME (formerly VUDU) movie, and they do not resolve it! I do not understand why a customer of FANDANGO AT HOME (formerly VUDU) cannot speak to a customer service representative located in the United States of America, especially when the present customer service, which is located outside, the USA is so horribly bad! I have a big investment in FANDANGO AT HOME (formerly VUDU) Movies and I would appreciate receiving good customer service when I have a problem. I really cannot believe how horrible and ridiculously bad the present customer service is, that is being provided by your company! Horrible customer service with zero regard for the customer. Vudu only cares about one thing money.

If I could rate them lower, I would. I ordered a movie and received an error message. I then contact Vudu to inform and to rectify the issue so that I can enjoy my movie. They disconnected the call 4 times. I then did a chat and the rep was rude and did not resolve my issue, but referred me to Roku. After contacting Roku, it was a Vudu issue, so I did another chat and the agent told me to “refer to my email”, then disconnected the chat. Worst customer service EVER!!!
Don't waste your time
They list movies to rent or buy but once you make the purchase the actual movie that plays is not the movie you bought. It's a bait and switch scheme. When I tried to get my money back the amount of time and effort it took me was ridiculous. Terrible service!

Don’t trust them with your credit card information. We were hacked, and charged ridiculous unauthorized charges to our credit card. Vudu refuses to refund the unauthorized charges.
We were out of town and the device used to make the unauthorized charges was never used that day. The videos have never been watched, nor are they shows middle aged adults would purchase to watch.

Rented a movie and thought we had 30 days to watch it. So I started watching it got about haft way done and had to pause it. Started watching it two days later and it resumed fine but about ten minutes into it, it stop and said I would have to rent it again or buy it to watch last hour of it.
So I called to see what happened and they told me once movie is started you only have 48hrs to watch it. No body ever explained that to before this.
They would not give me a credit or restart movie. They said I would have to pay again.
They offered to email me the terms of use after the fact. Never was offered before.
So never the less I will never use this tight ass rip off company again for my movie rentals.
They are nothing but robots that need oiled.

Have low expectations if you get Vudu
Why advertise and sell a season of a show that you don’t have rights to? When the show is being aired elsewhere and it’s weeks behind on Vudu. Seems a bit ridiculous. DO NOT GET VUDU!!
