Claims no Ownership over Returns Process
The concept of this brand is great and from my first order, there were two items that had a versatile design and great quality. I honestly was really excited to purchase from them given their capsule concept.
Out of my order, there were three items that I thought were overpriced for the material, threads were loose, etc.. As a result, I went through their return process to send them back.
This is when the trouble started. The order I made was paid for approximately with ~1/3 giftcard and ~2/3 credit card. I opted to pay the $7.95 shipping fee to have it processed back to my credit card.
A week went by after the return arrived at their facility. I get an email that the return was processed. A few days later, I still hadn't seen the refund on my credit card statement.
I emailed them to inquire and they stated that the refund had went back on the original giftcard that was used. I didn't receive any information stating this had happened. The giftcard had been used in full for my original purchase, so I didn't even have the giftcard number on hand anymore.
I asked if my credit card could be refunded instead and they claimed that gift cards were always refunded first. Okay - that might make sense if a majority of the order was paid with a giftcard, but it wasn't. This seemed like another way for them to get me to continue buying stuff from them.
I pressed further for clarity and suddenly the story changed - it was no longer that giftcards get processed first but that they had to avoid fraud and it wasn't their fault, the third party purchasing system did it for them, they had no control over their returns, etc.
Long story short, they claimed they had no ownership over their return system or how it worked. I was also being pressured to make another order just to use up my giftcard balance with them. Their clothes are not cheap and the fact that I was expected to purchase again was not a small thing.
All in all, for the price point, and their claim that they cannot hold responsibility for their return process or system makes me hesitant to do business with them. If you don't want to get stuck with potentially expensive items that might not be the quality you expect or if you don't want to deal with a potentially convoluted return system, steer clear.
I love seeing small businesses grow, and I know there are kinks along the way, but not being able to control or clearly explain your return process to take ownership of your customer experience is something that could be improved.
