Brilliant service

Brilliant service. On time for collection. Great communication. And the driver Maciek was great.
Always keeping us updated and so kind to reassure us of the normal process during an international move.
VanOne team was amazing explaining about all documentation for customs.

Good support at an excellent price point

Van One provided excellent support for my move. I did not have lots of things to transport and all were in boxes. They provided a driver and a van to pick up the goods. The driver arrived on time and with my help was able to load the goods on the van. A bit if paperwork later he was on his way. The next day the driver arrived at the destination. They provided me enough notice on when they'd arrive. At the destination the driver helped me unload. Job done, with not too much fuss.

5* International Movers

This is the second time I have used VanOne to support an international move - and yet again they were fantastic. The logistical support team was truly excellent. I really appreciated the prompt communication and timely driver updates. The driver was also extremely helpful and between the two of us we managed to safely load the van in less than 30 minutes. Strongly recommend!

My experience with the team

My experience with the team, especially Michael was excellent. The driver who picked up and delivered my items was really friendly and knew what he was doing. It's worth noting that the boxes designed specifically for plates are simply ordinary boxes with thicker walls. They're not suitable and don't include any additional protection. They only include bubble wrap, which I added, just like with other boxes. My only qualms about a 5-star rating stem from the fact that most of the time my items were in transit and delivered, I had to provide proof of French residency. This should have been arranged before loading. VanOne prices are lower than other companies in the UK, but for me, this move was a significant expense. The designated customs agent should have been more involved with the customer.

Our experience with VanOne UK was…

Our experience with VanOne UK was multifaceted. Communication is excellent, the staff is polite, and the moving team was also great, with all our belongings arriving safely. Prices are lower than other companies on the market, the documentation is complete, and Michael Heisenberg was very attentive in answering any questions. Although I recommend them, I was disappointed by a few points. The first was having to help the driver with loading. The second was that I couldn't take all my planted pots with me. On both occasions, the team was helpful and tried to resolve the issues, which was good, but the extra stress and cost weren't ideal. These aren't deciding factors, but they are things to keep in mind.

I wanted to provide some feedback on my recent experience. First of all, the driver Thomas was excellent. 5 stars for him, he was brilliant. However, I cannot give 5 stars for the admin side. One person I spoke to spoke very quickly. When I asked her to slow down she sounded exasperated. It is important to get details correct. Fortunately, Lennart, the person I spoke to later was more helpful. Ultimately, I had to edit the list of my personal items submitted to customs. I naively thought it would be easy but they told me that any changes to my packing list must be authorised by HMRC. Moving is stressful enough without this kind of hassle. I hope this feedback is helpful.

Very, very helpful

We were moving from Birmingham to Berlin and the whole mess with customs and other arrangements was incredibly stressful. Great collection and incredibly fast…

Great collection and incredibly fast delivery, only 2 days, where I’ve had others in the past take 2-3 weeks for the same distance.
The smaller loads of 5m3 and 10m3 has very tight weight limits as well that weren’t clear when booking, and a 10 m3 load will very easily exceed that tight weight limit. However, once upgraded to 15 m3 it was all perfect.

Highly recommend

I used VanOne to relocate from the UK to France, and I am very happy about their service. They provided all the paperwork with very clear guidance, communicated in a very timely manner, and the whole experience was smooth and easy. Keep in mind that this more a transportation company rather than actual house movers, so there is more you need to do yourself, but then you get a better value for money. In my case, my belongings were at destination in just 48h, in perfect condition. Would highly recommend.

Horrendous experience - Scammers

Horrendous experience. Lennart was very helpful and managed to secure me a booking last minute as it took me a while to complete the very complicated boxing and tax code labelling spreadsheet.

From hereon in, it went rapidly downhill. The driver arrived (Polish guy speaking no English). I was having my goods transported from my apartment in France to London. I paid extra to VanOne to have someone assist me with the loading/unloading and the guy was clearly angry and annoyed from the moment he arrived. Due to the fact we couldn't communicate, he called his boss Michael and had a full blown argument/shouting match with each other right outside my house. The whole street was looking, and it was incredibly embarrassing. Luckily I took a video of him cursing in Polish. I waited for over 5 minutes trying to work out what was going on (imagine I am relocating country which is already stressful enough, and entrusting someone competent is incredibly important).

The driver (who was clearly unable to walk/move items due to poor health) refused to help move anything, so the boss asked me if I had anyone who could come and help - it was 9pm!! Consequently, I had to pay for a friend to take a last minute taxi across to my house, and help me load the van. Michael missold the whole service to me, initially telling me on his call that it was no problem for the driver to help me if I pay for the extra service 1 which I did, however the driver so unfit and overweight he could barely bend down to pick up a box. Instead, after a hour or huffing and puffing he stood inside the van the whole time, cursing and kicking my boxes in place with his feet. Yes, with his feet!!!

Several days past, and having flown back to London, I awaited delivery of my boxes. Also, knowing that the driver was unable to assist with loading/unloading I had to pay £280 to hire removal men to help with the unloading - a service which I was promised Vanone would do.

I was worried sick the whole time, having no trust in the company nor the driver, waiting for the next issue. To no surprise, I received a call saying I need to pay several hundred pounds extra, due to weight miscalculation.

I was effectively forced to pay this, otherwise they would not deliver my furniture, so paying this in protest, I expressed my concern and drafted a legal notice to VanOne. Michael called once saying he was soooo sorry and would look into it (blah blah blah) and having chased several times, I have since had no response. I fear Michael is the face of the business who charms you in the beginning, then the problems start and the scam happens forcing you to deal with the aftermath.

I am now in the process of reporting Vanone to Trading Standards (UK) and the Consumer Ombudsman. I have sought legal advice and believe they have acted negligently and have caused me to incur extra costs (the other removal assistance I needed) as well as compensation for distress.

I am unsure whether to trust the extra charges which they lumbered on me - as well as the extra cost I paid for a driver to assist me with the removal of the boxes, which he couldn't do and the taxi I had to pay for my friend! Initially the cost quoted was about £850 but in the end I ended up paying close to £2000.

Avoid. Scammers.

You completely disregarded the limits of our service and wanted it to work. It's 1200kg and not over 2000kg. It's one driver to help and not a team of helpers to handle the loading process. You misunderstood the character of our service and caused problems for everyone involved.

Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves.

Ruined all our furniture. Every item was scratched, broken or bent. Double walled boxes we had bought were all damaged. The driver couldn’t read FRAGILE as he didn’t speak English so just threw everything in the back of the lorry. The lorry was unloaded as it needed a service apparently then reloaded in such a state that nothing was secured. Lorry was damp and filthy. When the 2 fag smoking Bulgarians turned up with the filthy van we did wonder if we would ever see our belongings again. I actually wish I hadn’t as I burst into tears when I saw the state of our worldly goods. No apology received and the fact that they think you can treat peoples belongings in this way speaks volumes. Use a reputable company not this shower or degenerates, who also tried to blackmail us and also don’t take credit card payments, funny that!
Love the reply! Have photos to prove but cannot download. The only “smugglers” are the ones with the removal van obviously.

Nope, don't use these guys, check out all the poor reviews. They manipulate the results.

Cannot be trusted with your personal possessions, they are simply not worth the risk

6.11.25 UPDATE. Their response below confirms what I've said, instead of apologising and attempting to rectify their errors, they go full-offense. This is not helpful to me and these negative reviews mean they lose busines.

Excellent, thoughtful driver, great communication throughout - however pricey

My experience with the driver was absolutely fantastic, and I'd like to publicly thank him for the excellent, helpful, and thoughtful service. Cosmin took great care with my goods and was really friendly to interact with, able to adjust to my needs.

Overall, it's quite a pricey service, but I appreciated the service available throughout, especially regular updates and direct communication in awaiting the delivery including over Whatsapp with an assigned Customer Specialist. This was really helpful.

There's things to improve other than expensiveness, but nothing that made my experience such that I wouldn't repeat it if needed in the future.
