Completely unreachable since 3 weeks while my payment deadline is today

I don’t usually write reviews, and I especially dislike leaving negative ones, but my experience with VakantieDiscounter over the last three weeks has been uniquely frustrating. I feel I have no other choice but to speak out here in the hope of finally getting a human response.

For nearly a month, I have tried everything to get an answer regarding a change to my travel dates. I provided the information requested back on February 28th, but since then there has been total silence. I have not received a single real reply — not even an acknowledgement of my emails, an apology for the delay, or any guidance or reassurance on what to do next.

What makes the situation even more frustrating is that the phone system feels designed to send you in circles, eventually directing you back to a web form that no one answers.
The only communications I have received from VakantieDiscounter during this period were reminders to settle the outstanding amount for my original booking. The deadline is now today. I am being asked to pay for a trip I am trying to change, while being completely ignored by the company I am supposed to pay.

When I tried to contact the company through another form, I even received what looks like an automated message telling me not to send more emails, despite the fact that I have been waiting for nearly a month without any help. This honestly felt very disrespectful. I am simply looking for a professional answer so that I do not risk losing my holiday or my money while being left waiting indefinitely without any clarity. This is not serious.

We booked a room for two for 7 days, it was a great vacation! We booked through the website deVAKANTIEDISCOUNTER

Staff:
All the staff were very attentive, caring, always helpful if needed, cheerful and sincere. Reception, restaurants, guest relation Saif, animators, bartenders, waiter, bodyguard, cooks, cleaners, all the staff are very nice.

Room: clean, the room was cleaned well. Mohammad did great cleaning.

Territory: there are many pools, a jacuzzi, there is a heated pool, the water park is open from 14:00. The hotel is on the first line, there is a private beach.

Food: there are two main restaurants on the territory, also sweet moments, snacks. There are also a la carte restaurants. I recommend the Italian restaurant. The pizza is very tasty. In general, the food was tasty and varied. And the nice waiters add a good mood to your dinner or breakfast!

Weather: we rested from 7.01 to 14.01. Until 10:00 it was a little cold and windy some days but after 10:00 we were already swimming in the pool. But it was already cold at sea.

Animation: from 10:00 club dance starts from animators and then you are invited to early exercise, zumba, oriental dances, aqua aerobics, etc. Various activities, as well as a gentle show. The guys try very hard. Sasa, tona, Ahmed and other guys.

Our rest was full of good days thanks to all the staff of your hotel.

We thank everyone who made our stay comfortable and wish all staff all the best and prosperity to the hotel BELLAGIO. 🇪🇬We miss you very much. 💙💛

No, no, no!

Poor organization! I don't recommend it! We booked a vacation a month ago, and two days ago we learned that our return flight had changed for unknown reasons. We were supposed to fly from Cologne and had a return flight there. The organizer changed the return flight to Frankfurt. My question: how can you imagine this! With two children, we'll be driving from Frankfurt to Cologne to pick up the car again?! We were offered a different flight with an additional fee of €280, to our detriment! Hello! We're buying a vacation, and yet in the end, you're not sure whether you're going or not! We're planning to bring the kids, and you're ruining our plans! If you change the terms of the contract, the buyer has the right to withdraw from the contract. How do you imagine that now? That we'll be driving 2 hours and 15 minutes by bus or train with the kids to get to the parking lot in Cologne to pick up our car? Do you think that's serious? Warning! If I want to cancel, I have to pay an additional €1,200. Doesn't that seem like fraud to you?

The change to your return flight was made entirely by the airline. According to the ANVR terms and conditions, which you agreed to when booking, they are unfortunately allowed to make such changes. This means that the responsibility for these adjustments lies with the airline, even though we understand how inconvenient this is for you.

Do NOT book with De VakantieDiscounter – They ruined our trip!
This company is completely unreliable and irresponsible. We booked a trip through De VakantieDiscounter, trusting their platform to provide accurate and essential travel information. At no point during the booking were we told that a visa was required for our destination. No warning, no notice — absolutely nothing.
As a result, we were denied boarding at the airport, and our entire holiday was ruined before it even started. When we contacted their customer service, hoping for support or at least understanding, we were met with cold, robotic replies and a flat-out refusal to issue a refund. They take no responsibility for their mistakes and clearly don't care about their customers once they've taken your money.
This is not just poor service — it’s negligence. If you're thinking about booking with them to save a few euros, think again. The real cost is your time, your money, and your peace of mind. There are plenty of other travel agencies out there that actually care about their customers and provide correct information.
Avoid De VakantieDiscounter at all costs. Don’t let your holiday turn into a nightmare like ours did.

holidays in Costa Brava

We booked holidays in Costa Brava, Spain. The staff was lovely and really helpful in the hotel, although they looked exhausted. The breakfast was decent, I would expect a bit more from the food at a 4 stars hotel and the 2 hours gap, from 8 to 10 am it's actually short and inconvenient. At 9:15 am half of the buffet is already empty. The connections from airport to hotel were extremely long and the hours to part made us, lose a lot of time both at the arrival and the leaving day. This is something we were not informed at, from the travel company. We probably would check for another way to arrive if we knew. We booked a 6 days holiday and we lost one day and a half travelling.

I had a terrible experience with vakantiediscounter.
A week before my vacation, they called to tell me that the accommodation I had booked and already received confirmation and tickets for was suddenly unavailable. The alternative they offered was nowhere near the same quality as what I had originally booked.
The agent who contacted me was unhelpful, rude, and didn’t even bother to apologize for the situation. Their only response was that they could refund my money, without offering any form of compensation just one week before my holiday.

Precise describtion and affordable

Precise describtion and affordable prices even for larger family. I would appretiate if other costs (visa, baggage etc.) would be mentioned in the offer.

I had a terrible experience with…

I had a terrible experience with VakantieDiscounter. A week after booking and when I had already received flight tickets and hotel confirmation, they suddenly called to say my accommodation was “not available” anymore because of a system error. This was just one week before my trip, when everything was already planned.

The only alternative they offered was a much lower quality hotel, and when I refused, they simply canceled my booking. The customer service agent was not helpful at all, and didn’t even apologize. No compensation was offered, even though I had to find a new hotel last minute for a much higher price.

This was extremely disappointing and stressful. I will never book with VakantieDiscounter again and I do not recommend them.
