Urban Flat in Paris - THIEVES

My family stayed in a "Urban Flat in Paris" apartment in the 2nd arrondissment for 5 nights. Absolutely appalling behaviour to leave vulnerable guests in an unsecured apartment with a non functioning door lock. When they eventually advised to call a locksmith and a replacement was put in at 1am they have refused to refund this. Extremely poor service with no duty of care/compassion/honour.

In addition number 89 Urban Flat in Paris (where stayed, on Rue de Clery) was in poor condition - obviously non functioning lock, kitchen drawers hanging off, bathroom flush causes water to spray all over, and numerous light fittings and electric sockets hanging off the wall.

Stay away from this company - it will ruin your experience of Paris

Beware!!! Urbanflatsinparis

Beware!!!
Urbanflatsinparis.com
I travel to Paris frequently and have rented many flats over the past 15 years. This was, without question, my worst experience.
Upon arrival, the apartment was uninhabitable. There was visible mold growing on the bedroom wall, a strong musty odor throughout the unit, and even a large mushroom growing out of the wall. The apartment had also not been properly cleaned or maintained.
I contacted Valerie, who manages the property, in an attempt to resolve the issue. She was extremely rude and unhelpful. Despite the condition of the apartment, I have not received a refund. Not sure how this company is still in business.
—this is my first review—but I feel obligated to warn others.
Stay at your own risk.!!!!

FRAUD UNSAFE STAY AWAY

We booked to stay at Basfour 3 Paris . Two hours after check in, bed bugs all over my kids on the sofa bed. Just like scary movies. They would message me ten times a day to get the payment. Reported the problem and left same night. Now they are not responding and I have not even received refund of the stay. After several follow ups someone responded that they conducted inspection and didn’t find bed bugs. I sent them videos of the crawling bugs and they ghosted on me.Ended up paying 850 to get a new hotel same night to drag crying kids put if that hole. Also have already paid 770 to them in advance and no response from them.Vrbo has also been super disappointing not supporting at all. Contacted them, opened a case and have not received response yet.Stay away from this scam if you like your family.

Dodgier than a Jammie Dodger. Avoid.

Dodgy definition: dishonest or unreliable: potentially dangerous: of low quality:

Urban Flat in Paris are all of above and more. They are rude, dishonest and completely unreliable.

We booked an apartment with Urban Flats Paris, and on checking the guest portal a week after booking we found that there were two apartments booked. When queried they said it was in case our first choice had issues and for our safety they had booked another apartment. They said the other apartment was an upgrade with no extra cost, but in fact – after some research – found that it was a substantial downgrade and some 30% cheaper, I guess they were just going to pocket the difference. We told them that we were not interested in an alternative and sent an email questioning what was unsafe about our first booking. No reply – so a few days later sent another email – No reply, and another – No reply. After nearly two weeks of no response we phoned the number on the booking. A chap called R answered and said he couldn’t do anything but to contact another number, which we did and they said they couldn’t do anything – so back to R and he eventually gave a different number, but we couldn’t get through. Back to R again and we read out the number. He said we had the country code wrong as the reservation department was in Israel. He said we had to use the code for Israel – but that they only worked from 9am – 1pm. No one answered this number so we texted R again – who must have contacted the reservation department – and eventually, after nearly three weeks of stress and worry, we got an email back saying that if we really didn’t want this other “amazing” apartment they would consider a refund. We said yes please. We did get our money back – although with the exchange rates and fees each way we were down on the transaction and now have requested a charge back on our credit card (thank goodness we paid by credit card).

For your own sanity do not book through this company. Three words of advice on Urban Flats Paris: Avoid Avoid Avoid.

Very bad stay!

The house was absolutely filthy when we arrived. There were stains on the chairs, table, beds, and couch, along with crumbs everywhere, as if nothing had been cleaned. On top of that, we were not warned about bedbugs, and after arriving, we saw a review from someone who had gotten bedbugs from this Airbnb. We also noticed stains under the mattresses that are typically associated with bedbugs, which made us feel even more uneasy.

We didn’t dare to stay any longer and left without receiving any help from them. Essentially, you’re paying for a cleaning service while getting a dirty house—I guess that’s why they have chargebacks turned off. They promised to refund our city tax and cleaning fee, but we never received anything. Instead, they just started ignoring us. It was the worst day of our lives—we had to scramble to find a new hotel as soon as possible. Their only response was, ‘We cleaned the sheets,’ yet everything was still filthy, with yellow stains everywhere. Who knows what would have happened if we had stayed?

We got no money back...

Rented out a rodent infested apartment

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY
I have just retuned from a girls weekend in Paris and rented a 15 person apartment in Paris (136 Saint Sebastien) for 4 people.
On arrival we were happy with the apartment however the soon changed.
We opened the door to one of the bathrooms upstairs to a strange smell and just thought it was cause of the door being shut. When we went to use it there was no shower head. When we complained to the company about this we were told that we should not be using that shower as there is a drainage problem! - that would explain the smell.
If things couldnt get worse .. we got back late the second night to find mice in the kitchen. We tried to contact customers services ( they dont work past 21:00) no reply and there is no emergency number. We manged to get the mice out of the apartment. An email was sent to the company .. no reply . The third night again we came back and suddenly a friend is screaming as there are more mice back in the apartment! We were straight on the phone again and somone did pick up and we were told they had sent tech people to the property a number of times over the last few weeks around the mice problem but didn't know where they had come from ! They did that night move us to another apartment for one night but at cost to our selves for Ubers etc and there were no windows and lots of noise.
I have tried to get a refund for this as it totally ruined our weekend, however the owner of the property says " it Paris , there are mice "

had the worst experience of my life

had the worst experience of my life. The apartment had a problem with the toilets and the whole bathroom was full of sewage (I am sorry if this is disgusting to read, but imagine what it is like to experience it). Urban Flat took 3 days to repair it, but the stench from the apartment was unbearable. Every time we complained, they did not answer our messages, or when they did, they did not answer what we were asking for. We have no answer for a refund. I strongly do not recommend Urban Flat if you want a calm, nice, and well-deserved vacation.

Horrible service

Horrible service

We rented an apartment from “Urban Flat” in Paris. The apartment was worn down and extremely dirty. When we contacted the company, they told us that it was our fault because we arrived too early. However, we arrived two hours after we received an email with codes for the apartment.

They would not allow us to cancel the booking and asked if they should send a cleaning company. They sent one person who barely did anything. It was still dirty and even fingernails on the couch.

After that, they told us that they were closing and would not do anything before Sunday.

The correspondence was rude from their side, with no intention to solve the situation.

Luckily AIRBNB helped us to get the refund, but it took us about six hours of precious holiday time and lots of frustration going “homeless” in Paris with three children and all the suitcases waiting for Airbnb to solve something Urban Flats should have handled straight away.

My best advice is to stay away from this company and book through someone else.

Horrible experiance

We booked an apartment for 8 people on Booking.com apartment that is managed by Urban Flat in Paris. On our arrival day we were informer that in our flat there was a leak and that we were given another apartment. The apartment we got was same price but much much less good. We learned later from à "frendly" emploee that this agency does it REGULARY. The reason is over-booking as well as horible management.

In our apartment for 8 we had 2 glasses, 4 forks, 3 nighfs....2 rolls of toilet paper. The WiFi didn't work and was not fixed during our stay. The building was horibly dirty and elderly prostitutes were often present in the building hallway.
So we realy want to worn people to be very careful when renting via UrbanFlat inParis.
