Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 177 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers frequently reported severe delivery delays, missed packages, and drivers failing to properly attempt door drop-offs while tracking systems remained completely unreliable. Consumers often waited several weeks for essential shipments that were repeatedly rescheduled or incorrectly flagged as having an incomplete address by the local carrier. Some reviewers were not happy with the customer support team, describing frustrating automated phone loops, unhelpful representatives, and exceptionally long waiting times. People also highlighted unexpected extra fees and parcels getting permanently stuck in various distribution facilities without receiving transparent explanations or useful status updates.

Maybe I'm lucky, but I find UPS to be Excellent

I live in Westmeath in the centre of rural Ireland.
Yesterday lunchtime I placed an order with a company in FINLAND. Today before lunchtime, the package was handed to me!
Less than 24 hours to get from Finland to the middle of Ireland is unreal and I don't know how they even did that, but they did?
Yesterday I got a small Amazon package also delivered by UPS which according to Amazon was due tomorrow.
I'm not a bot or affiliated to UPS in any way but that has been my experience with UPS. Not saying the negative reviews are wrong but I can only go on my personal dealings with UPS which have always been excellent.

Garbage service all around

Garbage service all around, from their shitty "customer service" agents who lie to you and are clueless about everything, to their liar delivery drivers who say they tried to deliver a parcel and no one was home, when i took days off work to receive an important parcel. Also, they say you can pay COD for any extra tarriffs they will have added at their pleasure to my parcel costs, BUT they will absolutely hold the parcel hostage until you pay online. UPS operates neither with good will towards their customers, nor in good faith, nor with any integrity whatsoever. I am disgusted. Worst of all, I specifically bought from a Canadian vendor to avoid paying stupid Trump Tarriffs, only to learn that UPS routed my parcel through the US against my consent and oh look: i have somehow been slapped with Trump Tarriffs anyway 😡💀😵 Customer service agents ALL clueless and unhelpful abd only giving scripted repetetive responses. UPS is a massive corporation: why do you treat your customers with such appalling contempt?!! DO BETTER.

Disgraceful

So I miss my delivery on Friday, around 10.30 in the morning It was very important to get that parcel on that day.
Around 14.30,after I spoke with an agent ,he assured me I will be able to collect the parcel same day from ups collection point.I was told I will get a phone call that day from collection point.
Nothing happened, although I was perfectly clear that I need that parcel that day and promised it will best sorted.
Worst company ever

How can returning online orders be so difficult?

How can returning an online order you no longer want be so difficult? 2 times in a row now in the past month, I have had to return online orders via UPS access points - “OOHPOD Lockers” - 2 times to unsuccess, I now find myself filing a claim for missing items which god knows how long this process will take. Luckily, the first time i done it the item was not of significant value but this time around, the item is certainly of valuable money to myself where I will need to chase this refund. DO NOT TRUST THIS PROCESS.

It should be simple, you scan your tracking code, the locker opens, you leave it in said locker to be collected by a UPS driver. However on both occasions, no UPS driver has come to collect? UPS are now claiming the lockers are empty. Luckily, cameras are at the OOHPOD stations so I will have proof of all this but what a mess.

Why are retailers using UPS and making returns all of a sudden so difficult I do not know but they will lose customers like myself. I have gotten in touch with both retailers I have used to make them aware of the situation. One way or another, i will get both refunds

Customer service also very poor, all in all nothing but very bad things to say about UPS they cannot be trusted as a courier with your valuable items purhcased with your own hard earned money. They deserve 0 stars rating without a doubt.

Damaged and discarded my items without even notifying me

Personally wouldn’t even given a one star review. Delivery driver was rude, picked up my two packages to return back to the sender. Very costly at nearly £80 to only find out that they had been damaged during transporting and discarded. No one would send photos/ I had to chase to even find out this has happened. I am now £480 out of pocket. Would not recommend AT ALL.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID, AVOID

Absolutely shocking experience dealing with this company. All the agents that I spoke to could barely speak English and I could not understand what they were saying. Asked for a Manager or Supervisor callback, and never received one. They still have my parcel which they will not release to me, after I have paid the import duty, and I cannot understand why not, because I don't UNDERSTAND what their agents are saying

WORST DELIVERY COMPANY

Would rate UPS a big fat zero if I could. Paid extra money from Amazon to get my items in time guess what not happening, specifically you live in an apartment no calls no delivery notes nothing! Am I meant to stay outside my apartment all day? I have a job to attend to. Worst part can’t even get them to drop off in a collection point because ‘sender’ didn’t put that as an option now I’m bouncing back between them and sender.

If I could choose I would never use UPS PERIOD

Absolutely terrible experience with…

Absolutely terrible experience with UPS.

Got an online quotation, all boxes accepted without issue. After shipping, UPS charged me over 3 times the quoted price.

I opened a case about the overcharge – weeks have passed and no updates, no communication.

One of the large boxes, fully wrapped and secured, arrived completely smashed. Everything inside was broken.

I opened a claim, but UPS refused responsibility saying “the package was not sufficiently closed and sealed”. The box was never even collected for inspection, so I don’t know how they could make that statement without looking at it.

In short: overcharged, ignored, and denied responsibility for obvious damage. If you’re shipping internationally in large boxes, do not use UPS. One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had.

Broker fees for paying import duty are absolutely scandalous. Triple what other carriers are charging. I don't recommend anyone to use UPS and I definitely will be making a conscious effort to avoid them in the future

Zero stars if I could.

Zero stars if I could.
UPS is by far the worst shipping company I have ever dealt with: disorganized, careless, and utterly disrespectful to their customers. They lost one of my packages and replaced it with a random one, as if what we ship were worthless garbage.

This isn’t just incompetence — it’s pure negligence. No control, no professionalism, no shame. A company like this should be immediately investigated and kept far away from anyone who needs even the slightest bit of reliability.

UPS is worth less than nothing: an insult to the very idea of logistics.

I have NEVER had a successful ups…

I have NEVER had a successful ups delivery. Not once has it gone to plan. Once it was delivered to the wrong house about a mile away- luckily that person was honest and called at a number of houses until they found me.
Another time they did not even attempt to deliver - I was literally in the house- they just dropped it off at a random pickup point. They lied about attempting to deliver and leaving a card.
They also most recently claimed that I was not one of the listed people in the building directory... What does that mean? What building directory? It is a detached house in the countryside? It's not an apartment block, just me and my family there. It's my house, I own it.
They just lie and don't bother trying to deliver.
I will avoid any company that uses ups.

I was hit by the UPS auto delay tactic…

I was hit by the UPS auto delay tactic on my last delivery. Q: When looking at tracking on the UPS website, how do you know when it has made it to the Ireland leg of the delivery? A: You will find a nonsensical entry for delay due to a randomly selected reasons (i.e.: Weather, Mechanical Failure, Flight Delay, etc.)
