I had a very good experience during the 5 days getting qualified to work on 3 phase installations. The training was clear and organised and the tutors were all excellent and made sure I understood everything, especially John Faz who tutored us throughout the course.

Solid Introduction to Solar PV with Practical Emphasis

Attended the Solar PV course at USG Centre recently and found it to be a strong entry point into the world of solar installations. The instructors knew their stuff – practical experience was clearly evident, and the delivery was straightforward, no fluff.

The hands-on sections were especially useful, with real-world kit to work on, not just theory from a textbook. It’s not an advanced course, so don’t expect deep dives into system design or complex fault-finding – but as a foundation, it does the job well.

Good mix of compliance, practical installation, and intro-level system design. Also appreciated the guidance on getting MCS ready and understanding where this fits in the broader renewables industry.

Facilities were clean and well-organised. Could be improved slightly with more detailed course materials or post-course resources, but overall, it’s time and money well spent if you’re looking to move into solar as a qualified spark or tradesperson

The three phase tutor was excellent with fantastic depth of knowledge. The course took place over a full week and Tim managed to make every day interesting, ensuring our entire class had taken in the concepts and giving us an opportunity to put them into practice in the workshop. My only criticism would be the lack of cable for completing work in the workshop but I have found this to be the case at other training centers also.

Tim was an awesome tutor who was patient, polite and knowledgeable in his profession. No question was intolerable for him to answer, and if we struggled with anything, he'd go back and patiently explain it to us in the simplest way. Great guy

Great trainers with a good knowledge of the subjects they teach. All very helpful with their many different techniques to make the knowledge easy to absorb for different mindset groups.

Been to this complex a couple times now, always enjoyed my time here and staff are always friendly and accommodating.
