I bought an umbrella from here as a Christmas present for a relative. I was impressed when it arrived, free of charge, the following day. It seems like a quality brolly and my relative is happy with it. It’s the Totes ECO X-tra Strong Auto Open. I must admit, I hadn’t checked the company’s reviews before I bought it and am now hoping it doesn’t break! All good so far.

Please do not buy from Umbrella World Uk - their customer service is shocking, and they were defensive and unhelpful when I contacted them after the umbrella broke. Waste of money, and will not honour the Fulton one year guarantee that they advertise on their website. If I could give zero stars, I would. Avoid!

There are so many mixed reviews across the interet for this company so I deliberated for a while on whether to use them. I bit the bullet as they had what I wanted, and for some reason I can't do plain so finding what I want isn't always easy. The umbrella arrived the next day, which I wasn't expecting, perfectly packaged and the item appears to be very good quality. I shall not be marking them down for user error and not looking after the item correctly, sometimes I think these review sites can be unfair to business. I am happy and will use again.

DON'T EVEN BOTHER - faulty items and shocking customer service. Pure denial that they are in the wrong and try to blame any faults on the courier company, even though the box was unscathed when it reached me. Save your money and your time. Their Trustpilot rating certainly reflects the standards of this company. Received a faulty umbrella with a bent pole - originally thought it was just stiff and therefore didn't notice the pole was bent until another part of the umbrella broke a few months later! Was purchased within the 6 month period, so am entitled to a repair or replacement, but they want to charge me to send the faulty item back and then for them to send it back to me. I explained that they are in breach of the contract and therefore I shouldn't be losing out financially. They argue that I should have contacted them within 30 days, but the Consumer Rights Act states that if an item develops a fault within the first 6 months of receiving it, then it can be assumed it was there since the time of purchase, therefore they are in fact responsible, regardless of what they say. I will be submitting a complaint to trading standards as well as contacting the umbrella manufacturer to exhibit the sort of company they are allowing to sell their products.

On 3 December 2023 I asked to return my Senz umbrella to make use of the 2 year warranty. The 'fixed' umbrella was returned to me in January. I had to pay to send the umbrella and for it to be returned to me. It wasn't fixed! I returned my umbrella yet again. The 'replacement' had clearly seen some use, with damage showing on the fabric that would soon turn into a hole and a manufacturers fault. Despite having just returned home from hospital and needing to rest, Umbrella World were insistent that I return this next umbrella to them before they could send a replacement. I followed up and was advised that the replacement wouldn't arrive until after Easter! Only when asked did they say I could choose a different colour. And now... they're trying to charge me for having it posted to me! I'm struggling to see the funny side. It's been over 3 months!
And when I stated that I shouldn't have to pay for the return, the response was 'No problem I just send you a refurbished one back then' which isn't even grammatically correct!
A further month later and I still haven't received a replacement. I've contacted the manufacturer and they said that Umbrella World have been provided with a replacement intended for me. Umbrella World emailed me to state, 'I have now passed this over to Senz and you will get the original offer repair/ replacement after Easter but hopefully sooner,'. I contacted them yesterday to ask when my umbrella would be delivered and the response this morning was, 'after you chose to leave us negative feedback on all platforms, and we collected the replacement you were unhappy with, I consider that the end of the matter'.
So my question... should I delete this negative review just so I can get my umbrella?

I have been using Umbrellaworld on occasions - more or less because one is usually not in the habit of buying umbrellas frequently is one?
I was surprised to see the low rating and was wondering whether customers where everything works well just do not praise.

Faulty £50 umbrella, just a month and half after the purchase. They didn't respond until I resorted to PayPal. At first I was refused a refund saying 30 days had gone past: I didn't get to use the umbrella until a month after receiving it because it hadn't rained- an umbrella is used when it is raining and that is when a fault is identified. The umbrella was returned to them and they confirmed by email saying the return was received, the tracking and photo from Evri also showed that it was delivered to them but then they asked through PayPal that I had to show the evidence of delivery before they refunded! Totally bizarre as they had already confirmed the return. Poor communication throughout and long delays to get the refund (over 3 weeks), overall, an unpleasant experience. They do absolutely everything to make life difficult for the customer. I wouldn't buy from them even if they were giving away the stuff for free.

Wish I had read these reviews to before I purchased just like everyone else. Bought an umbrella which developed a fault after nearly 1 year the umbrella comes with a 2 year warranty but they want me to pay for P & P and will only give me a refund on what I paid as it was in a sale, told them repeatedly a warranty means you replace the faulty item. Having to chase them with emails to get a reply. I grudge even giving them a 1 star. Will never shop from them again. Terrible customer service.

I had a very poor delivery and service experience with this company. Umbrella was delivered to a locker, but the delivery company would not provide the unlock code-due to an invalid postcode. Upon contacting Umbrella world, they did not help. Eventually the umbrella was automatically returned to umbrella world. They refused to give a refund for this returned umbrella. I would avoid them.
Despite their update posted on 11April2024, they have not justified why they did not refund me after the umbrella was returned to them by the delivery company. I accept delivery issue occurs. But the refund was entirely within their control.

I don’t write reviews but this company are so poor I felt compelled to. I bought an umbrella a few months back and because of the good weather I didn’t need to use it. With normal service being resumed with rain I got the brolly out only to find it had a fault with the stitching coming away on one of the seams. Contacted the company only to be told I should have informed them within 48 hours of receiving the umbrella. Guess the company thinks I should have put the garden hose on and stood underneath it. They also said I have to pay for postage both ways (me sending it and pay for them to send it back). That would cost more than the umbrella itself!!!! I queried this and said I was happy to pay one way. No reply. Sent a chase up email. No reply. Poor all round and now I have a useless umbrella. Do your own research but I wont be buying from this company again.

Please avoid ordering from this company - I wish I had checked the reviews before buying from them. I received an umbrella which looked entirely different from the picture, so wanted a refund. I sent several emails which were not replied to, and the company did not pick up the phone. The umbrella is no good for me so that is £12 wasted.
After admitting in writing that the item I never received was actually never delivered, Umbrellaworld failed to provide a refund they claimed they had issued. Ended up losing £24 of hard earned money. Avoid these thieves like the plague.
Paid for 2 day delivery on Tuesday. I understood the order wouldn't be processed until Weds so expected (and needed) a Fri delivery.
It arrived Sat afternoon (too late)
I queried it with customer services to be told weekend deliveries aren't garaunteed and Monday delivery would have been acceptable!..... Since when is Friday a weekend in the UK????
So now I have to pay for my own return postage (for x2 umbrellas!) after already having paid extra for 2 days delivery - that was late!
Shocking customer service - really disappointed. I should have gone through Amazon for a different suplier as atleast amazon take some level of accountability for late deliveries etc.
I only came direct to a manufacturer to help independent business.
A Japanese lady staying with me ordered an umbrella but it arrived damaged, both the outer sleeve and the actual umbrella had a cut in them. Despite sending photos and numerous e-mails showing the damage and returning the damaged umbrella sleeve , no replacement given or money refunded. Do not buy from this company.
Spent £50 on an umbrella. It was recieved severely bent and did not function.
Unfortunately as my flatmate accepted the package. In order to get an exchange i will have to pay for return delivery and well as delivery of the new item.
Not to mention i had to chase the company for a response.
** I would advise customers to read the responses to negative reviews for an impression of what you will be dealing with with this company

I have a wedding car hire business and need regular supplies including umbrellas and covers to protect them and to store when they are wet to get them home to be dried. I recently purchased 11 covers from them. A fantastic product. One, though, had a defect in it. It was changed IMMEDIATELY! GREAT customer services which counts for a lot in my book.
I ordered an umbrella from this company and the frill at the bottom of the umbrella was defective, frayed, and not correctly placed at all. This left the umbrella looking unsightly and clearly faulty. On wanting to return my umbrella, and expecting free returns postage as the product was faulty, I was informed that the umbrella was not classed as faulty because it worked, and it was only an appearance issue! We phoned the company up, and after much discussion on the issue, they said they would pay for half the cost of the returns postage.
Have had exactly the same experience as David. Umbrella arrived bent, and they expect customer to pay to send it back, and pay for another to be sent out. All whilst stating on their website they do free delivery anywhere mainland UK!
Would not advise using, unless you'd like to be reminded over and over by email how much of a favour they are doing you by taking their faulty item back at all.
Would never use again. Umbrella looked pretty cheap in addition to being bent, and having a loose part on the handle.
I'll wait for their response on how much of a favour they are doing by taking it back, seeing as its been just over a month.
