I have been waiting a year to update my current will, but so far, no one from this company has shown any interest. In fact, they have never sent me a copy of the original will to review for changes. Their service is very lax, and they seem more focused on getting paid than actually assisting.

Absolutely shocking company shocking…

Absolutely shocking company shocking service and shocking customer service . They issued an invalid will to us following my mother‘s death , after first telling us that they didn’t hold a will at all . we spent 10 months mucking and messing about with probate going backwards and forwards after they issued us with the will they told us was valid and we later found out they should never have even held, should never have released and wasn’t valid after all. They backtracked on taking any responsibility whatsoever, cost us an absolute fortune because my mother‘s property was a leasehold and held us up for 10 months whilst we waited for probate to sort out the paperwork . when we had originally contacted TI a few months following my mother‘s death they told us that they didn’t have a will initially we then re-contacted them having found some letters while sorting out my mother‘s property. We’d already been to probate and sorted out the letters of administration so had those in place. They then released a will and said they had got the first statement wrong and there was a will after all . They didn’t realise they were the executors ! Apologised profusely and offered to renounce all rights . We had to go back to probate office and ask for LOA to be revoked and for probate to be issued . Several months later of messing about with probate due to the complex issues surrounding our case we find out that the will is actually invalid and should never have been released to us and the trust inheritance should not have even have had the will as it should have been destroyed 14 years earlier !!!! . Their left hand doesn’t know what their right hands doing. They lie to try and cover up their tracks absolutely abysmal company avoid at all costs

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are disappointed to receive your review having recently closed this matter through our formal complaint procedure; providing both an apology and explanation along with the goodwill payment which you accepted.

Letters of Administration were issued in 2024, and guidance was provided by our Solicitor to help avoid delays with the property sale by continuing with this approach, rather than applying for a grant for the retrieved Will before completing the sale.

We remain committed to supporting our customers and have reviewed and updated our internal procedures to help prevent similar issues in the future.

Lost Will caused loads of stress and extra work

My father's Will was held with Trust Inheritance.
When he passed away my initial phone calls to the company were positive. The staff were polite & empathetic and quickly sent me a document to complete to release the Will.
But it all went downhill from there.
They did apparently send the Will but it never arrived.
They couldn't provide tracking as apparently it was just put in the post and wasn't even sent by any sort of tracked delivery method.
Who puts an irreplaceable document in the post and just sticks a stamp on it ??? Well Trust Inheritance it seems.
Hardly very 'Trusting' !
Anyway, multiple phone calls and emails later, Trust Inheritance still believe that the Will will turn up, or be returned to them as apparently other Wills posted around the same time had gone back to them.
A month later I told them that I had considered it properly 'lost'.
No problem, they say, they can send a photocopy of the Will and that will be accepted by the Probate Service.
I'm dubious.
They duly send a photocopy (after quite a few reminders), but it is such a poor photocopy that the first part of the most of the sentences are missing, including the initials of the witnesses who signed the document.
Now I'm no legal expert but even I know that isn't going to be accepted by the Probate court.
I take legal advice from a local solicitor and ask Trust Inheritance to write a statement, explaining what happened to the original Will, and why the photocopy is missing the left hand side.
They do this eventually, and get it signed by their solicitor, but manage to put on the wrong date of my fathers death !!!
Another delay followed whilst they re-wrote a correct version of their statement.
In the meantime I look at the 'package' that my parents paid for when they took out their Wills.
It seems they thought they were making things easier after their death, as they thought Trust Inheritance would manage the process of dealing with their estate.
In reality all I received was a Powerpoint of things to consider which I could've easily googled myself, and a whole load of hassle, extra work, delays, and stress because of their incompetence.
I have waited until the Probate office granted me my certificate of Probate before leaving this review.
Thank goodness it's over, and I don't have to deal with this company anymore.
I strongly advise others to stay well away.
If you are already dealing with an estate covered by Trust Inheritance, then take alternative advice from someone you trust. Don't put your trust in Trust Inheritance.
Best of Luck.

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would

Here is a summary of my complaint for
Others to read, so they know what to expect from this company

1) they did nothing for the first 5.5 months, and they ignored all my emails and calls. They only started working on our case after I left a bad review online

2) they did not value the property for 6 months.

3) Not putting buildings insurance in place until the above review was mentioned. Not advising us that this was necessary

4) The buildings insurance they wanted to put in place was extremely expensive, i did find one much cheaper, they took almost 3 months to review and confirm this. In the meantime they put in place a temporary insurance that was £82 pm (again extremely expensive). Additionally, when we first spoke with the team in December they told us to keep the heating running at a low temp, we had to get two radiators fitted and replaced (costing £1000 with 2 heating engineers on seperate occasions) when the time came to get building insurance they told us the property should have been drained down.

5) The person first allocated to our case, Stuart, did not contact debt companies to inform them of my mums death despite me asking about this. He also advised me this had been done, after reviewing repeated debt letters etc I called companies myself - they all advised that they had never received any contact from my solicitors. I subsequently resolved this myself by sending off the information required

6) They advised us that the initial 5.5 month delay was due to the insurance company being uncertain whether they would pay out, when my sister contacted them they advised us they were waiting for the gp. My sister then liaised with them, organised the infomation to be sent and organised a review with the insurance company. We then identified that no contact had been made by Trust inheritance to the life insurance. They did not send us a consent to share form with the insurance provider until after the google review

7) They advised us another delay was caused as they marked the house as insolvent, and did not pursue the grant of probate, I had advised them that there was almost 200k in the house and that we would be receiving death in service payments. They did not get the house valued before marking it insolvent.

8) When we were allocated a new solicitor (Jake) after my google review, he explained that Stuart had left and he was taking over and would essentially have to start from the beginning as no progress had been made since they had taken on our case. I asked to raise a complaint about Stuart, he advised me that Stuart had left the firm. My sister tried to raise a complaint regardless, he advised us then that the complaint had been raised to Stuart? Essentially they raised our complaint about Stuart to Stuart himself after telling us he had left the firm

9) We raised a further complaint as i queried why the person we complained about is dealing with our complaint and explained we want financial compensation, we received a further email from Rebecca Marshall explaining that they believe the service is adequate so wouldn’t provide any compensation (this member of staff was also allocated to work with us in the beginning and had taken a long time to reply to several of my emails herself)

10) We were reallocated a new case manager, any, she applied for the grant in July. This is a total of 8 months after my mums death. This meant we were paying for 8 months Intrest payments and electricity for the house due to their slow pace. I understand it can take a few months but 8 months is too long

11) I was buying the house from the estate and paying my sister off with a mortgage, the grant was approved and I got a mortgage in principle and solicitor appointed within a week. The firm decided to use their own solicitors to “sell” the property. They did nothing for a whole month, not even reply to my solicitors emails, to the point Amy agreed to outsource a solicitor firm to complete the sale.

12. We had been allocated another case manager in July 2025. This is 8 months after the grant of probate was approved. Our case is still open and money as money still sits with external organisations.

Early days with this company but…

Early days with this company but overall the telephone discussion on updating our will was very good. Natalie was thorough and able to advise on what to do about a second property.
We paid for this to be done but no receipt was emailed but see it's gone through in our bank account.
Now waiting for the wills to arrive so they can be signed hopefully in the near future.
They link you to a toolbox where you can access your documents but although I can see the draft wills in there I am unable to access them unless I pay £49.99 each year.

Ripped off. Appalling service.

This is a genuine review. The moment has passed for Trust Inheritance to rectify the matter. They had the opportunity at the time. The date of the experience is effectively the approximate date probate was granted several months after my interactions with the company.

My late further had paid them a fee to provide his sons with some support during the months after his death which was in October 2023. When I did speak to them they did not explain what the service comprised. They gave me a pdf visual of the '10 steps' which was frankly a muddle. I had a handful of conversations with their customer facing team.

My overall impression is that they gave us poor advice or simply wanted to upgrade us - ie make us pay more - so that they could manage the whole estate. I asked some basic questions, one of which must be commonly asked, but they were unable to answer it.

However, I did commission them to create my own Will. There was a communication issue even with that, with my receiving a call where the advisor presumed I was ready to discuss the Will, when I was not.

My first contact was with Charlie who is very sympathetic and approachable.

However, I was told by the company, based on very little information. that we would not need to pay IHT (perhaps in the long run as my mother is still alive), but we have had to pay it.

I was told that there was a '29-week' wait for probate and that they could provide 'fast-track' access for probate, as part of a package which is based on a percentage of the total estate, to encourage me to sign up to their full service. I was not told how it was fast-tracked. I opted to complete the forms myself, managed without their help and probate took just two weeks. I saved myself a lot of money.

Subsequently, I had a query about a question on the IHT400 form (which I had obviously completed but I was curious when this part of the form might be completed), In our case, we did not have to complete. I am still waiting for an answer.

The day after my father died I immediately called them but could not get through, the day you want them to be there for you. There was some problem with the phones. I contacted the chief exec on Linkedin to complain. Someone did eventually call back but not a call or an apology from the chief exec. Too busy promoting Wow awards.

I get the feeling that most of the people I dealt with would excel in their performance contracts.
The woman on reception, who is lovely and efficient.

26.1.25 - update.
While continuing to work through our late father's affairs we have discovered that he paid £1850 in 2012 for what was known as a Family Support Plan. No one told is this what we had when we initially contacted TI.
According to the marketing material: FSP gives you and your personal representatives access to comprehensive personal support....Expert advice on income Tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax; a pre-submission check to help with the probate application (cannot imagine who would actually need that it is so simple); ANY OTHER ASSITANCE REQUIRED TO HELP ADMINISTER THE ESTATE.. When we asked a simple question about whether a low value property overseas should or should not be included in our submission to the Revenue (because we heard somewhere there are exemptions), Trust Inheritance advised us we would have to pay for that....

Mortified

Mortified! Paid out over £1700 and was totally misled as to what I was buying. Changing our wills with a few new details has been shockingly bad. 3 phone calls to actually speak to a nice lady who knew what she was talking about. I was sent 7 emails at nearly 11 at night with things I couldn’t even open let alone understand! Apparently as I signed on the dotted line it’s my hard luck! A man came to out house for about 2 hours. Told us what is now I find out a lot of nonsense and that despite paying up front instead of using a solicitor we still have to sort things out and was really just paying loads of money for a “ tool kit”! In other words forms generated for us. If the company are used when we both dieI’ve found out 1% of our assets go to them! I was told none of this at all. Utterly misled as to what I was buying. If I try to get our money back it’s likely we won’t as we signed papers. We went to amend our wills about a month ago and I’ve had to chase them up 3 times.
I must admit the lady I spoke to was very professional and nice. However I am now left with a company I don’t want to use. I use them still or lose over £1700 and then have to pay again somewhere. Avoid at all costs. Nothing but stress. I don’t even think the new wills will be correct!!! The new employee was getting it all wrong as we spoke on the phone. The one document I managed to see referred to me by my name and my partner by my surname! I dread to think what other mistakes are there. Not that I know as I cannot even see the will online and have to wait for it to arrive in the post! Which I wanted in the first place and expected!
I literally have no trust in the company and wish I’d never made our wills with them. Whatever we do we have been financially abused and totally misled. I’m so distressed I may look into taking this further. Hard sales were used to pretty much con us out of money upfront so we were led to believe 100% that when one of us died the other had to pay NOTHING and do NOTHING! Not the case. The crook who sold us this isn’t now working for the company! Surprise!

Absolutely useless unprofessional company

Cut a long story short, this is a pathetic company!! In view of the nature of the business one would think that they would pay "more than the usual attention" to customer's needs, quite frankly, they don't give a dam!! We've paid close to £2000 and to make small changes, they can't get it right! Even after waiting days that SUIT THEM to speak to them, discuss things in detail, they only go and print off a bent copy of your will, meaning they can't place the paper straight on the printer and send you that! They DONT LISTEN, you can sence they're in a hurry to fobb you off and get you off the phone, I'm sick of their incompetence to say the least, they need to STOP trading, stay away from them if you're planning to make a Will, they're just bums on seats!!

a scam

Trust Inheritance used a sister company , Legal Services Guild,to make my will in 2020. I paid £650 and as yet still haven't received my documents. I have been emailing and telephoning for 8 months but get no response. I contacted Trust Inheritance today who told me it was basically nothing to do with them and that there was nothing they could do. They said that I had contacted Legal Services Guild directly which is not true , they were the ones who set the service up. They did tell me to email Simon at Generational Wealth (formally Legal Services Guild ) knowing full well that I'm not going to get any reply. I am disgusted with all involved and would suggest that people steer well clear of this company.

Dear Eileen,

I am sorry to hear about your experiences since writing your Will with Legal Services Guild. Based on our information, we have been unable to locate you in our system as ever being a Trust Inheritance customer. If this is incorrect, please give us more details, and we will be happy to investigate your complaint.

Regarding Legal Services Guild, neither they nor Generational Wealth are part of the Trust Inheritance Group of companies. We engaged them to provide home visits and more complex estate planning but have since halted working with them due to reduced service levels and lack of communication, both with ourselves and our customers. As we do not have any details on our systems that match the limited information you have provided, we can only assume you worked with Legal Services Guild directly, not through our company.

I appreciate your frustrations, and I believe the customer care team has given you several suggestions to help you resolve the situation with Legal Services Guild. Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can further assist you with your claim against them.

I used Trust Inheritance to apply for… letters of Administration

I used Trust Inheritance to apply for letters of Administration for my deceased wife. The service was very good. Yes there is a cost to this but for me it was value for money as the process is very complicated. Doing it myself seemed like a nightmare. Rebecca was very helpful and knowledgeable. The process was from my part a 25 minutes phone interview where I passed on the information which I backed up with an e-mail. I would certainly recommend this service to others.

Avoid.

Avoid.. !!
Both my wife paid a fair some to have our will written, and then put our "trust" in this company to hold those will securely.

I devastatingly lost my wife in June and have applied for her will, only to be told that they have lost it!

Apparently it is in their secure storage, but it cannot be found. How totally appalling, unacceptable and despicable. When I have spoken to various staff members, including a Director, it is evident that there is very little care, and from the response I believe that this is common practice for this business.

I therefore highly recommend that you look to put your "trust" in an alternative business if you wish to see your loved ones original signed will of their final wishes.

Dear Mr Dobson,

I am sincerely sorry for the issues you faced at such a difficult time for you and your family. Although we had a signed digital copy of the Will, which meant it could still be used and legally sound, I understand that being told the physical document could not be located would have caused you distress.

We have put several processes in place since you first stored your Wills with us many years ago and have an excellent storage record over the 30+ years we have been trading. We have invested heavily in technology and safe storage facilities so that we can keep nearly a hundred thousand documents secure for our customers. It would be easy to say that mistakes do not happen, but unfortunately, in the case of your wife's Will, human error has resulted in it not being located.

I would also like to apologise that it came across that we did not take this issue seriously. It was discussed by a number of directors and investigations undertaken; it is certainly not commonplace. We are happy to share our statistics with you should you wish to see them.

We strive to give outstanding customer care, and as an employee-owned company, we are passionate about ensuring we provide the best service. We feel it throughout the business if we have not been able to achieve this and will do everything in our power to fix the situation to the best of our abilities. Please do contact us if you would like to discuss this further.
