Booked hotel through Trivago. Screenshotted the correct booking confirmation BUT then emails came through from Algotels for a hotel more than 30 miles away. Have been back and forth with Algotels who... See more

Made a mistake on my booking dates and…
Made a mistake on my booking dates and tried to contact the booking company within 5 minutes of the booking. I have contacted 20+ time with no reply.
Corrupt and deceitful
Advertising should be banned for the likes of these charlatans. They are greedy, deceitful parasites, lying about prices to fool travelers. Google allows them to advertise fake prices, then as soon as you visit their scheming corrupt website, the prices are almost double or more. Then, being unethical as they are, they say it's because of demand or some other lie. These people are outrageously corrupt. Trust pilot are equally as guilty because if you write the truth, they refuse to publish your review. Book direct.
If I could give no stars I would
If I could give no stars I would. Trying to get a refund out of these is like getting blood out of a stone. The hotel we stayed at has agreed for the refund and Trivargo have stated the refund has been processed. This was over two months ago. The hotel and myself cannot now get in touch with Trivargo. They’re ignoring all emails and I’m out of pocket but will still keep trying
Back to Booking.com for me.
Saw the advert (Jurgen!) and after years of using booking.com decided to give it a go. Yippee, a cheaper price for a wonderful 'Swim up Superior' room at Hotel Cadiz Bahia. Received a confirmation email describing all the details of the room I'd booked.
That's where the good news stops. Turned up at the Hotel and they said sorry but the booking partner didn't request a 'Swim up Superior' and we don't have any available. Called Trivago and they said we'll look into it. They then said, we've looked into it and there's nothing we can do about it. However, we've escalated your case to see about a partial refund or compensation.
AND THEN NOTHING, TOTAL SILENCE!
Back to Booking.com it is then.
Update - we did eventually receive a partial refund but no apology or compensation for the disappointment of not getting the room that we paid for.

I book a hotel from trivago and I had lots of problems and I can’t contact them for my booking problems is not 100 percent trustworthy company
Delightful waterfront location
Delightful waterfront location, friendly helpful staff and varied restaurant menus options to indulge in. In the best possible sense a quaint location off a very narrow street this small bijou hotel is a treasure. Breakfast offered a choice of foods to suit all tastes whilst the evening meals offered fresh Cornish seafood and fresh food options with some unusual flavour options.
lack of transparencym at Jumeirah Jabal Omar…
I booked a room at Jumeirah Jabal Omar Makkah through Trivago
and paid the full amount online in advance. Unfortunately, my trip was canceled due to the war situation and the exceptional circumstances affecting travel.
I contacted Trivago to request a refund, but instead of receiving support, they kept asking for excessive and repetitive documents and requirements for several weeks. I made every effort to provide everything they requested, only to have my refund request rejected in the end without a fair explanation.
I then contacted the hotel directly, and they kindly agreed to process the refund. However, since the booking was made through Trivago, the hotel informed me that they needed an official refund request from Trivago in order to proceed.
I repeatedly asked Trivago to send this request to the hotel, but they completely ignored my emails and failed to respond. Until today, they have neither sent the required request nor provided any update, which means my refund is still being withheld because of their inaction.
What is most frustrating is that Trivago would not even be paying the refund themselves — the hotel already agreed to do so. Yet Trivago showed a shocking level of negligence, lack of transparency, and poor customer service throughout the entire process.
I am extremely disappointed with this experience and would strongly advise others to be cautious when booking through them
Avoid this website
Avoid this website, once you purchase anything with them. I booked a hotel in NYC with TRIVAGO. Hotel was absolutely disgusting. Arrived to the hotel room given smell of wee and vomit. Second room was bigger but air con had a horrendous noise and on the second day. We couldn’t slept with building work going on on the room next to us. Complained twice to front desk. They apologised and promised to investigate and offered me compensation. I had to chased hotel manager after I returned home and messaged TRIVAGO customer service with pictures, emails and videos about my experience. They contacted hotel and they said they didn’t have records of my complaint despite all the pictures of the two different rooms allocated to me and the videos and emails from the hotel manager. Absolutely disgraceful how they allowed this hotels to treat customers. TRIVAGO just want your money then they would not care if anything goes wrong with your holiday. AVOID AVOID AVOID
False economy
Not even booked anyway but seen the ridiculously false advert with klopp and saving a fortune .
Done my research and you don't actually save anything .

Trivago should be ashamed of themselves…
Trivago should be ashamed of themselves not vetting the agencies they send u to, I went to AGODA and it was a total scam who the hotel I booked with had several complaints and the police are involved now , dont use agoda
They are facilitating fraud through…
They are facilitating fraud through their website by allowing fraudulent companies to advertise who take money for reservations that are not fulfilled. They turn a blind eye to this and do not stop letting the companies advertise on their site or assisting with issues when they arise. I have been scammed out of £607 through trivago.
They have no flexibility
They have no flexibility. I only needed to change dates but would not let me do so .
Customer service is non existent
Will never book with them again and could never recommend them
I booked a hotel to Dubai in April…
I booked a hotel to Dubai in April 2026.
The pictures on trivago website showed it was on the beach with six swimming pools, spa treatments and various restaurants.
When I booked and paid for it the hotel I had actually booked was the same brand hotel but not on the beach but in the financial district with one roof top pool.
After many emails, all they kept saying was the hotel was not refundable as it was a late booking.
I understand that if they would’ve gave me the Hotel I actually booked but they didn’t. They give me a different one. They still have not got back to me regarding any refund would never book with these again crooks
Beware if booking through Trivalgo
Used Trivalgo to search for aggregated hotel prices for my stay in Toronto. Found a good rate if booking direct through them so I did that. However it is not booking with Travalgo but their agent Algotels.
When I researched this company they had very bad reviews of people arriving at their booked hotel only for there to be no reservation.
I looked at my credit card statement and they had taken my money and I got a booking confirmation so I phoned the hotel directly to check, and they had no reservation...in fact they found one but they said it was cancelled by Algotels!
Thankfully I checked before flying round the world and arriving at the hotel. Now I've got a refund and won't be booking through Trivalgo again. Obviously a scam company.
We went to use Trivago to book 5 nights…
We went to use Trivago to book 5 nights at the Ibis Brussels where they quoted us £873 on the initial page but when we clicked on it to pay, the price leapt to over £1400!
Hence, we have no intention of using this company despite how many times Jurgen Klopp advertises it.
Awful customer service- mistakes in booking and no response from customer service
Awful customer service.
They booked the wrong room type for us. Our booking confirmation said "standard room bed and breakfast" which we knew at this hotel came with spa access.
However when I called the hotel they said trivago had booked us a two bedroom cottage which was self catering with no spa access.
When I called trivago they said they'd look into it and message us. It took over a day to get back to us (which was then the night before we were due to leave) just to say that they couldn't cancel it. But completely ignored my complaint and no attempt to resolve the issue. I messaged back and they've ignored all messages. Horrendous customer service.
Thankfully the hotel managed to find a spare room even though they were sold out. Wouldn't touch this company with a barge pole.
Do not use the click though buttons to book
I used the click through option to book a hotel that was showing as Chester on Trivago. It was only after I had paid on the other site that the receipt showed the address of the hotel which was several hours away from Chester. Thankfully I could cancel within 1 hour of booking for free and I spotted it quickly. Do not trust the Trivago map. One of the click through websites is actually only selling hotel rooms in America. Glad I didn’t use that site!
