Excellent reference point for all things travel, sites and dining experiences. Great quality control on submissions and many helpful responses and information from respondents. Worth checking with Tripadvisor when you have plans.

I like Tripadvisor and refer to this website often for reviews, ideas and occasionally, bookings.

Best site to provide good info, particularly if you’re visiting a new place. Used it extensively in South Africa and Spain.

Very useful for getting information when you don’t have the time to research. The reviews are generally accurate and unbiased. I personally like the opportunity to input my own experiences.

Anytime I visit a foreign city, even if I have been there numerous times I always check Trip Advisor for restaurants, as the scene can change rapidly. This is a valuable resource for me as I enjoy fine dining wherever I may be. If a reviewer has only a handful of reviews posted I am less inclined to place a great deal of faith in their opinion, rightly or wrongfully. Conversely if a reviewer has hundreds of postings it designates a frequent traveler, and I will pay more attention. Not to say it is a perfect system, but it has certainly worked for me. Similarly if I see several bad reviews, I will avoid this as an option. I know that I usually only post reviews for places that have impressed me, which is perhaps somewhat unfair to the community at large, but I dislike giving any press for sub par venues. Great app to get ideas. I find it especially helpful when i am in an unfamiliar place. It gives me a startling point and ideas for new things.

I cannot give a 5 star rating as I feel Tripadvisor should monitor their reviews to get more accurate ratings. Perhaps it is quite impossible for Tripadvisor to verify all ratings as ratings are usually "one man's opinion". Many times I have gone by the reviews and found them quite inaccurate. Perhaps in this case the raters are less conscious of quality or are willing to accept anything no matter how poor the quality is.

Any time I have a question concerning travel, the first thing that pops into my head is " check tripadvisor" to get the answer. 9 out of 10 times gives the best solution. I have never regretted following TRIPADVISOR.

Tripadvisor is the first I go to see information on places I am planning to travel to. I will look at everything from hotel suggestions, restaurants in the area and especially things to do. Tripadvisor has all the information you need to plan an amazing vacation or even just a day trip.

I love the trip-advisor as it helps me look at other people opinions of different places around the world. I like to rate different places and the things I do or experience at theses places.

Referring to Tripadvisor for information on accommodation and eateries is a habit that I have adopted some 10 years ago. Even negative comments are useful since if a negative comment refers to something that does not bother me, I simply discard it . All relevant information is included and enough to make an informed decision on whether or not to choose.

I believe that overall it provides very good descriptions of places and advice for potential travelers.
