Arrived at hotel to be told there was…
Arrived at hotel to be told there was no running water and the key cards did not work. I had to quickly find another hotel which cost me an extra £200. While travelodge refunded my booking fee with them, they are not interested in the extra cost and stress it caused me. As far as they are concerned, having no running water is not a problem.
Extortionate call charges
Just tried to ring the hotel I have booked to ask about parking and got a message to say the call would be charge at 13p per minute! Utter extortion
Great service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What you would expect from a travelodge but exceptional service from Abbie on the front desk, greeted me with a smile on her face and explained everything perfectly. She made the whole experience feel special. Keep it up. Travelodge Redhill👊🏽.
Whatever!
I always return for more because I'm a masochist! 92 pounds fifty per night for a very small twin room over eight nights. Towels are changed daily and the tea bags replaced. Cleaning the room and a bed change is once per week unless you plead with them to intervene at 'half time' (that is a rubbish policy they've had for a few years now). I think Travelodge has really lost the plot (or brexit means they have to pay 'huge' wages to UK staff and the Poles have gone home). IT IS A Motel for goodness sake with no A/C and smelly carpets in many of their establishments, so why are they charging almost real hotel prices with nothing included. If they base their strategy on the U.S. model, then they've got it wrong. If you want anything a bit cheaper, then they offer you a bit lower in price on the main M4 motorway at Lea Delamare outside Chippenham, but still they are understaffed and full of Road Works gangs on contracts and en-route stopover families. As well as this, those two hotels (East and Westbound) are in a truck stop with all the noise fumes and movement (plus the all pervading stink of burnt U.S. style fast food outlets in the service area). With Travelodge, it's the luck of the draw. I pity the staff, who do their best to keep all the plates spinning. It's really awful when you look at it.

I stayed at the Widnes Travelodge last week while visiting my family, and I had an amazing experience from start to finish. I was made to feel welcome from day one, and the level of customer service was outstanding.
A special thank you to Jan, Jane and Shakia, who all went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. Every member of staff was friendly, approachable and always happy to help, all with a smile.
What impressed me most was how much pride everyone clearly takes in their work. It’s rare to see such an enthusiastic and dedicated team, and it really made my stay memorable.
Well done to Jan and the whole team – you should all be very proud of yourselves! 👏 I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Just stayed 2 nights in Travelodge…
Just stayed 2 nights in Travelodge Tonbridge wells. It’s quite outdated. Very basic. Bed not very comfortable, rough sheets, hard mattress and lumpy pillows. No bottled water in room. I had to boil kettle and let water go cold to drink. It was hot weather, so a basic need. No mini fridge. The floor boards are very squeaky and you get disturbed by others squeaking too. No toiletries just hand soap. Very difficult getting the shower taps working. Took me a while and got scorched. No instruction how they work. The sink is so small and the shelf above is low down and when you bend to wash face or clean teeth you bang your head. The bathroom is so dismal it could be a hospital bathroom. Terrible design.
It’s cheap except if you stay Fri & Sat.
I didn’t have the breakfast, so can’t comment.
I wouldn’t stay again.
Trash website. Trash customer service.
While trying to book for a weekend online their website's calendar app changed my dates to one day on the previous week! Then they refused to change or refund the booking as I booked on the lowest tier. Understandable except for the entire part of their calendar screwed up the dates and they then refused to take responsibility.
It’s gone downhill
It’s gone downhill. A hotel I’ve stayed in many times before but feel as if it’s cutting more corners these days. Staff are not particularly friendly or overly helpful; rooms are clean enough but could be better; pillows aren’t great; no air conditioning so definitely don’t book in the summer. Good location and good that you can have three adults in one room which helps if you’re on a budget but will look elsewhere in future.
Warning Travelodge Teddington
Stayed at Travelodge Teddington. Room was boiling warm (over 30 degrees), impossible to sleep, windows can't be opened to to let in cool air at night. There is no fridge, nowhere to hang wet towels, you have to fill out a form to have room cleaned, rubbisg removed or need new towels. Carpets were stained. Issues with hot/cold water and wifi is useless. Do not stay there in summer!
Lovely helpful staff.
Lovely helpful staff.
Very peaceful. Really LG room. Very clean.
Excellent pub next door.
Downside needs updating,
Bed had old wooden headboard, only double in such a LG room.
Would pay more for a bigger bed
Premium Rate Phone calls and parking issues.
I have stayed in several Travelodge Hotels, and in my opinion overall, the rooms and the beds are acceptable.
There are however other issues. The front desk can be anything from perfectly acceptable to absent.
I have just received my monthly phone bill. I was charged £3.51 just to speak to my hotel to enquire about the parking. The call was inconclusive, and a waste of time and money. I don't know how long I was on the phone, but it was only a few minutes. I think to charge customers premium rates for a routine call is rude and off-putting. I think this is an outdated practice.
The reason for my call is parking is a worry for me as I have a blue badge and I have it because I have walking difficulties. Often there are inadequate spaces versus the number of rooms. Even more often selfish customers abuse disabled parking spaces by parking in them when they have no blue badge.
This is poor customer service and these things all degrade the experience of the stay and I am increasingly looking elsewhere where I know I can get a parking space and where the place answers the phone to confirm they have a parking space for me.
In the year 2026, this is fairly poor. From what I can see this chain probably makes most of its money from business travellers on high week day rates which the employer of the guest is paying, and they are the ones that most commonly steal the blue badge spaces.
It is a pity.
I just left Travelodge at Woolwich and…
I just left Travelodge at Woolwich and am so disappointed in the staff behaviour especially the lady called Ade,my friend lodged in the hotel and told me to come see him for business discussion. While we were discussing the business,we were also drinking our jack Daniels and the lady called Ade came to tell us ie me and my friend that we were not supposed to drink our DRINK ie the drink we bought outside Travelodge in that environment,I took the drink away, not even having an argument with her,we felled asleep in the lounge only to be awoken by the police that we have become a threat to the staff, and my friend who has logded in the hotel for four days should leave immediately, without evidence of a threaful behaviour.
We argued that it was a fabricated lie and asked to see evidence of the allegations, only then I was told to leave but my friend can stay.
I am asking the management to investigate this case,it happened today Sunday 26/07/2026 so that we can be assured that we can't continue to spend our money and be disrespected in such an arrogant manner,WE ARE BUSINESS MEN AND PROFESSIONALS.
Lastly it is the customer like us who pays this guy's salaries and we expect them to understand this and be treated with a little bit of respect.
We are not criminals,we are professionals who decided to have a break and being treated like criminals is not a joke.
I want to remind you THE STAFF AT WOOLWICH TRAVELODGE IF YOU CONTINUE LIKE THIS,A BETTER OPTION WILL COME AND CUSTOMERS WILL MOVE THERE MONEY AND THE ESTABLISHMENT IS DEAD, YOU WILL LOSE YOUR JOBS .I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK CUSTOMERS IS STILL THE 👑 KING,HIS MONEY KEEPS THE ESTABLISHMENT GOING,TAKE THAT FOR GRANTED AND YOU WILL FIND OUT THE HARD WAY.
You can look at the fate of big establishment who took for granted the customers,SOME ARE DEAD,SOME ARE STRUGGLING WHILE OTHERS WHO GENUINELY UNDERSTAND THE ROLE AN AVERAGE CUSTOMERS PLAYED US STILL STANDING.
A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE!!!!.

Room 3 smells and the bed creaks
My recent was only my second stay with travelodge, it was in a recently revamped hotel, the reason I know is I stayed there for my first time 6 weeks previously and was in an upstairs room du to the revamp. My first room was much better, they need to snag the room as there were issues with their work but the room was 4*. The room I had this stay smelt like a mix between body odour and wet dog, there were stains all over the newly revamped carpet and the bed creaked every time you moved which woke me. Again this room needed snagging with the contractors as there were small issues and had it not been for the smell and the bed I might have given it 4* but the cleaner must have noticed this and it should be reported as I do not feel it was worth the money charged for a 2 night stay. I don’t like complaining but will not be using them again and will stick with Premier Inn.
Location is noisy by a main road, they can’t help that and had it been a good stay would know to bring ear plugs.
Desk staff were lovely and very welcoming.
Travelodge kilmarnock good place to…
Travelodge kilmarnock good place to stay.
Staff very polite and nothing to much trouble when asked.
Scandalous
Booked a room whilst in reception, accidentally put the wrong date because I was rushed. Noticed mistake 5 seconds after and still couldn't refund or change my booking. Scandalous
Disappointing stay at Travelodge Halkyn
My stay at Travelodge Halkyn was extremely disappointing as the hotel is very old, tired, and clearly in desperate need of a serious upgrade.
The room had no proper ventilation or central air conditioning, making it extremely hot, stuffy and suffocating at night, so I could barely sleep. The window only opens slightly, and the fixed net curtain cannot be moved, meaning there is virtually no airflow. We were given only a tiny fan, which was completely inadequate for two people, let alone a room booked for four.
The toilet was also disgusting and poorly maintained. The door had no lock, the bottom of the doors was rusty, and there were hairs on the toilet walls and floor. This is completely unacceptable and shows a serious lack of cleanliness and maintenance.
The corridors had an unpleasant smell, while the bench outside the hotel seemed to be nothing more than a smoking bench, with people constantly smoking around it.
Overall, this was a terrible and uncomfortable experience. Travelodge seriously needs to invest in renovation, ventilation, cleanliness and basic maintenance. For the money paid, the standard was simply unacceptable. Very disappointing and definitely not somewhere I would recommend.
Stayed at travel lodge halkyn wales,I…
Stayed at travel lodge halkyn wales,I was very disappointed with our stay. I paid £138 for one night for a family room for four people, which was far too expensive considering the condition of the hotel.
The hotel is extremely outdated, with old furniture, old-fashioned lighting and peeling paint on the walls. The room felt very stuffy and uncomfortable. We stayed during the summer, and there was no air conditioning or proper ventilation. The window only opened slightly due to a safety lock, and the curtains made it difficult to get any fresh air. My children and I could hardly sleep because the room was so hot and suffocating.the small fan provided was not sufficient and slow.
The bathroom was in a very poor condition. The toilet door had no lock at all, which is unacceptable for a family room. There was mould and rust on the bathroom floor, hair stuck to the tiles, and the toilet itself was stained yellow and looked old and unhygienic. There was also no proper extractor fan, making the bathroom feel damp and unpleasant.
Overall, the room was not clean and is in desperate need of refurbishment. For the price charged, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness, comfort and maintenance. I would not recommend this hotel unless significant improvements are made, especially to the bathrooms and ventilation.
